We recently rented a 12-person apartment for 3 days.

There is no disputing it - the location of the Arlberg is killer, but that's the only positive thing about our experience.

Arlberg management reply with "vintage vibes, chill facilities, blah, blah, blah" in other reviews as a disguise for:

- Basic and in dire need of a renovation. Not only does this include the apartment, but the facilities too.
- Lacking some of the bare essentials. 5 water cups, 2 wine glasses, 6 mugs, 1 tea towel, 0 hand towels, 2.5 toilet rolls between 10 people for 3 days.

But the worst was the cleanliness. The bathrooms, other than the hand basins and the toilet bowls, were filthy. Dust, hair and dirt in every corner of either bathroom. Fans clogged with dust, grout full of mould. And the facilities.when was the last time you checked out the cleanliness near the spa, team Arlberg?

I've got some clear feedback for you Arlberg:

- Time for a whole new cleaning crew. It's not the first or second time you've been told about the cleanliness of the apartments.
- Time to have a serious chat with apartment owners. 6-monthly reviews of every apartment and a clear mandate for apartment owners to up their game and invest in their apartments. If they don't, reserve the right not to sell their apartments.

I know, this means less revenue for you in the short term, but you're on a downward spiral and if you're not careful you won't be climbing back up anytime soon.

The apartment we rented desperately needs:

- A decent coat of paint - and not just on the walls, the doors, frames, everything, and don't skip the corners, you can tell
- New grout - do this, now, the bathrooms, and in particular, the showers are disgusting
- At least 1 set of cups/cutlery per person
- A shower caddy - where are you supposed to put your soap?
- Anything to up the 'vibe' - there were 0 posters/art/anything on the walls
- Bunk beds and mattresses from anytime in the 2000s - anything newer than what is there today

$1000 invested in the apartment would've made for a different review, instead, you're getting a 2 star review - 1 for the location and 1 for.not sure for what to be honest - the fact that it was warm and dry? Actually, I changed my mind; compared to where we stayed at in Bright (one of the local caravan parks that offers cabins) the night before we arrived at the Arlberg, you deserve a 1 star.

Instead of spending time on crafting replies to customers using meaningless snow vernacular, you know what would be rad, taking action! That would keep the stoke high, bro!

Not. Good. Enough.

The location is excellent for Hotham but the cleanliness and furnishing of the room was poor.

The cleanliness of the bathroom in particular was poor and I'm not just talking about things you'd have to look for. The surfaces were dirty, used soap was lying behind shower doors and the tiles, glass doors and basins didn't even seem like they had been wiped.

As expected the bunk bed rooms were classic bunk bed rooms and the lounge and kitchen was sparsely appointed. I'd love to see a bit of effort put into furnishing. Hanging pictures would go a long way for example.

The front-desk staff were friendly and helpful and doing the best with what they had.

The Arlberg does clearly state when booking that room pictures may differ to the room booked. I understood that risk but the quality of this room was way lower than the image I was shown when booking and there is no excuse for leaving the room dirty for guests.

Was a bad experience not including the snow. If people weren’t so happy about being at the snow this place would be classified as a dive and be empty. I’ve worked in hotels at the snow and I was shocked at how bad it was for the money paid. Beds were horrible, rooms were cluttered and not clean. Credit where due helped us by changing our bed from two singles to a double but in all were uninterested. Bistro looked fun. For $365 a night I felt robbed

Horrible experience with staff and management!

We stay at the Alberg quite often at Hotham, but after this experience we will never be back.

The roads up to Hotham were a disaster, lots of snow and black ice had accumulated so obviously chains were to be fitted. Unfortunately when we got to the village one of our chains snapped and we started sliding all over the road. Given the danger we represented to ourselves and everyone else we pulled over outside the Alberg and assessed our situation.

After long debate we called Hotham management and explained our dilemma, they told us it was fine to leave our car illegally parked outside the Alberg for that night due to the concern for our safety.

Fast forward to the next morning, we are up at 6: 00 am to move the car and free the spot for the Alberg. Hotel management comes out yelling at us stating we have broke all kinds of rules and will be fined. The lady told us “having broken chains was not an excuse” and that we should have “continued driving” in the relentless snow and ice. She was incredibly rude about the situation and had no sympathy.

We did not receive a fine and Hotham management were fully aware of our situation, they were fine with it…

Will never stay at any Alberg facilities again given their Staff and management care more about a free parking space than the safety of individuals.

This place has spring beds with brocken lights no aircon and a tv brand named chang ching. Even found a toenail on my bed sheets obviously not cleaned. Place clearly hasent been updated since the building was built false advertising.room 503

Seeing is believing. If you are contemplating staying at Arlberg, I would be asking for photos of the actual room that you are being booked into. Bad luck if it is Room 613.

Location, location, location!
If you're going to Hotham to ski, Arlberg is the best value

Staff were absolutely incredible when it came to helping us with our room! They made sure we got the best possible holiday with young kids!

Handy to have the bistro just there with great food and bus stop right out the front!
Amazing stay!

The hotel manager harassed us to buy shot in the bar and because we didn’t want to he called us ‘Jews’
anti-Semitic, rude and disrespectful - will not be staying here again

One of my favourite place to stay on Mt. Hotham, close to the Hotham Central. It is at bus stop no 2, so you can just walk to Hotham Central.
I usually stayed in the studio apartment that allows to sleep up to 5 people with self contained kitchen and bathroom. It also a drying cupboard that makes sure your clothes and gloves dried overnight.
If you are lucky some of the apartment on the upper floor have been renovated with a more modern bathroom and kitchen. The old ones are still fully functional. Just bring a lighter to light up the cook top, as this is much easier than using match stick. Make sure you left the apartment clean as you found it, throw your rubbish in the garbage bin, and recycles goes to the recycling bin. They are located in the garbage room on each floor.
There is a mini market if you forget to bring something, and a pizza restaurant and bar if you are too lazy to cook.
When you are tired from your adventure of the day, there is also a pool, sauna and spa to relax, the spa can be quite crowded. The pool is too small for lap swimminh but still functional.

Snow holidays are back.

Thanks again Arlberg. Friendly staff and a bed to sleep in at night.

Epic snow definitely helped make this holiday 5 star.

I suppose all the rudest most cheap people decided to get into the hotel business together. Management was shockingly rude and the rooms are decked out with the absolute bare minimum, especially for the price which they charge. Would not recommend ever

If you love the lowest quality rooms on the montain and the worst customer service imaginable look no further than the Arlberg.

After holding a booking for 2 years because of covid, our booking was conveniently 'forgotten. ' Our room cancelled and no option to pay new rates or change dates. Stayed here every year in the dodgiest rooms the last 10 years. Constant emails and calls to get no response for months this winter. This joint is run by teenagers.

If you decide to stay here expect nothing special actually, expect sweet F A. If you want a night out at the pub expect to get one of the following; warm beer, flat beer, wrong order or a cold meal. Don't turn up and expect them to get it right with more than 4 people.

They have held our groups money since 2020. We were all looking forward to finally getting back to the snow, so for them to pull this stunt is absolutely appalling

We had the best family holiday experience at the Arlberg. Excellent location, friendly and helpful staff, great restaurant and bar at reasonable prices.
Our 1 bedroom apartment was clean and had everything one would need.

Let's get the elephant out early. 3* as the mattresses in our room were all (8 of them) dreadful. We barely slept for 5 nights.

Aside from that the Arlberg was great.
Friendly staff, convenient shop, great restaurant with tasty, well priced food and craft beer.
The Tirol Ski-hire in the hotel were also very friendly and efficient. They couldn't have been more helpful.

Please, just replace those bloody mattresses!

Honestly 12 14 year old girls couldn't ask for much more in a school planned ski trip room.it was a massive apartment with three bedrooms, living room and kitchen with a TV. The only thing bad about the place was the food. The chips we were served were somehow always half cold and have absolutebly no flavour and look weirdly pale. Breakfast was the exact same everyday with like 4 different options, half of which were grotty. However, the Alberg as a whole is pretty great just wacth out for those weird chips.
