Arid Garden reviews
6We enjoyed our visit to the Arid Garden. The display of different succulents is really stunning. It is interesting to wandering around the place and find new shapes and sizes of cactus at every corner. A really interesting place to learn about arid landscapes.
Beautiful arid zone plants of different types. A paradise for plant lovers and botanists
Queue the funky desert plant. This little circlier gardens has a wide range of unique succulents and cacti. All of them are well keeped and paths are clear of spikes. Watch out though touching the spikes may cause injury. Seating is placed in amongst the plants so you could come here to sit and chat if you so desire.
We’re not garden enthusiasts but the arid garden was fantastic - our teenage kids got on board and enjoyed the variety of unusual looking plants!
Spectacular exhaust bit of cacti and great time now to see some of them blooming
Originally this was a Cacti and Succulent Garden however, from the 1980s development began to convert this into an Arid Garden. It displays an amazing assortment of cacti, aloes, agaves and bromeliads from around the world that have unique adaptations for survival under arid conditions.
The Arid Garden is approximately 60 years old and comprises over 1,100 plants including 100 rare and some threatened species. The garden has many features and amazing plants. There is a scarcity of trees in the garden representing the scarcity of trees in the arid inland zones of Australia. The garden certainly highlights the ornamental qualities of cacti and succulents
