Ararat Astor Cinema

A small venue, that works well. Great atmosphere, staff are very attentive and the candy bar is quite good.

What an amazing building, so beautifully maintained the owners really have done a wonderful job. There is even a stair lift to help get upstairs. I love this place!

Friendly staff, clean facility. Seats could be more comfortable, one cinema had a hissy speaker that was quite loud. Good little cinema though

A cheerful little cinema in a small country town. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Super clean amenities and sitting area. The tickets were a great price and cheaper than major cities. Well stocked candy bar. And they bring your hot drink to you in a real mug. Absolutely wonderful enjoyed the movie also.

This cinema is a step back in time. The staff were courteous and helpful. The seats were old and not overly comfortable, despite the extra leg room. The male toilets in particular had an overpowering smell of urine and needs a good anti bacteria clean. Despite these inconveniences the movie experience was enjoyable.

Went with a group of friends. Although the old man working there was very aggressive and disrespectful. One of my friends who is very tall accidentally touched the back of a seat with her feet and he shouted “Get your feet off, you don’t do it at home and you don’t do it here! ” I understand where he was coming from but he could have approached it in a kindly matter. Really did ruin our experience and couldn’t enjoy the film with him interrupting us.

This cinema hasn't been good since '09, when they showed Paul Blart: Mall Cop. Cinema as we know it peaked back then and as a film enthusiast, I dont think kino as an art form will ever recover.

While maintaining some original country charm and character this cinema also blends aspects expected in a current day cinema. The staff are fantastic and more than happy to give some in-movie yummies deliveries. Every visit for us has been enjoyable.

The Astor is an integral part of my Ararat lifestyle. It's hard to believe that a 3 screen cinema with 6 to 8 films every week is available to us. Excellent sound and screen quality. Excellent service.

I enjoyed it. The queue was short. The cinema was small, but the screen and sound was good. I had a coffee in a mug brought in although the cup holder would not hold it.

Cutest little cinema. Throws off a real "horror" movie type feel, especially at night time but I absolutely love it. Fantastic prices, great staff. I've got family who live up there and my little cousins love it, always leave myself some time to catch a movie while we're up there.

Clean, comfortable seating. May be issues getting access to upstairs cinemas for the disabled. Overall a very enjoyable experience and will be back.

Love this art deco cinema! You can always get a seat even on opening night! The old seats are a little uncomfortable for a long movie so it's worth upgrading in the main theatre.

The Ararat Astor Cinema is a great venue for all ages and walks of life.

The service here and affordability is second to none.

Great place for families, friends or a movie for 1.

The venue has 3 theater's, 1 main viewing area and 2 side areas, meaning more Showtime.

Would highly recommend and world prefer this venue as oppose to surrounding venues
