Apollo's Fish And Chips reviews
49 To whom it may concern,
my name is mary lane, i came into your store and bought some chips for my granddaughter and i for lunch, only to have her choking 5 minutes into our meal.at first i thought it was a chip as she tends to eat quite quickly at times,
but after jumping up immediately to attend her, i found small bits of tin foil amongst our chips, mostly on the side she was eating from and a piece was inside her mouth.
I have written a review, my first one aswell.so i hope this reaches you.as i couldnt get ahold of your management on the land line displayed on this website.
Please be cautious of how you prepare meals as not only did i get quite a fright, but a quick stop into a local fish shop should not result in a trip to the emergency department with a child shortly afterwards.kind regards, Mary
Best Fish and chips shop, I was told about a fish and chip shop with lots of memorabilia on the walls. Tv's and songs playing, Sign on the counter stated new owners, 'Very nice quiet spoken person, Large serving sizes very nice Food price is very good as well Love it. Be back bring friends
Great establishment, very cozy. Me and a girlfriend of mine stopped in for some light food and drinks. The seafood was fresh and tasty. The breadings were light and the oil they use makes the food taste amazing. I am very happy we popped in.
First time dining, Unfortunately they got the order wrong, a burger, just meat cheese and sauce and a red bull was the order.was back in the next day and had a great experience, staff were friendly and the atmosphere was great, i will definitely be back!
Thought I would give Apollo's another go.we got the battered fish and some chips.oil must have been old as everything was very dark. Batter on the fish was really hard. I had to take it off, sadly fish was very dry and over cooked.
If you are after good traditional fish and chips this isn’t quite the place to go. What made me even more angry was upon leaving the store I seen this sign in there window about a 10% discount witch upon ordering I was never offered. I rang up the store the following day to be told by management there is nothing they can do after the sales been put threw. I have since noticed the sign has been taken down very disappointed. I wont be going back.
Would love to give a five star review, however over the past few months we have tried to call multiple times a night on at least three separate nights. We've never gotten through yet! Oh well, at least other stores actually pick up their phone and serve delicious food too.
Food was filth oil stunk an didnt put all our food in then attacked my daughter when she was told by the boss tony to come get refund, the owner was horrifically scarey an never should any female trust these men, god help the poor workers there,
Ref.review below stating: "Was disappointed to be honest. Read the great reviews, ordered over phone, staff.friendly.but.after waiting, waiting for our name to be called I approached counter to see my order sitting there. " Same, but in my case, very disappointed, and they didn't subsequently profess to have called by name, because they didn't. Under-cooked chips, soggy and luke-warm at best because of time they sat there, brown paper in bottom of take-away box soaked through with oil.
New owners, trying hard to keep up with busy demand but need more staff. Friendly and good food if you're prepared to wait and long queues
Service was slack ordered a souver and some potato cakes waited 40 minutes others ordered after us got theirs before us no apology wouldn't go back
New owners great fresh seafood top fast friendly efficient service. Great environment to wait for your order or you can call and make a pick order.
Greatest burger I’ve had from a tuck shop in ages. BEST in Ballarat! Old school vibes. Brilliant service from friendly greeting people. 10/10 would go back.
Not always fresh and we ordered flake and recieved hake, great atmosphere and service! Better when they change their oil and everything tastes so much better!
Very good food, good size lunch easily shared between 2, owner was very happy to talk to us even though not locals
Good tasting food although I bought the family pack that was supposed to include chips and I didn't get any
I really liked the old school feeling, unlike the new modern fish and chip shops. Keeping with that theme the style of the place is like a dinner and the ssrvings are massive.
Wow. What an amazing shop, offering fish and chips to pizzas and my favourite Parmi and chips. The food is so fresh the seafood is delicious and the batter is beautiful and the parmi is HUGE and I mean massive and the flavour is fantastic, the Pumpkin cakes are just perfect. I couldn't recommend a better place to get a feed from. You definitely get your moneys worth and then some. This will be our go to everytime we visit Ballarat. Highly recommend you go visit Apollo's
Very hit n miss. We moved in around the corner a few months ago.probably have it 1 or twice a month.some nights you could say its the best fish in town other night's its the complete oppisite.needs more consistency
Could be fantastic. New oil and quality fish without black skin required. Lacking salt. Slow service.
Don't know if they're aware, but Apollo's is the only F&C shop in Ballarat that doesn't have animal fats in their oil and use their own potato cake recipe. Absolutely amazing, and so so grateful for their existence
