Apollo Bay Cottages

This was a really nice place for a little get away.

Right opposite Merengo beach.
3 minutes from the heart of Apollo Bay.

We stayed in a cabin with an outdoor spa which was a treat.

On the whole, well appointed. Towels / kitchen utensils / family sized fridge etc.

Friendly, helpful owners who were available as needed but not involved if you didn't need them to be.

It wasn't cheap
($1000 for 3 nights)

For that price, I have to admit I thought they might have uped the anti and moved from sachets of Nestcafe coffee to maybe a pod machine.

But essentially, it's a great little spot!

Would definitely recommend.

We had the best stay! The manager, Stu is amazing and so helpful. He arranged a portacot and high chair so we didn't need to stress with our bub, or bring the kitchen sink. He even ran us into town. The cottage was cozy and perfect, and the views and sunrise incredible and relaxing. We will definitely be back! Thanks so much for the friendly care.

The management are scam artists, be careful when making a booking and make sure you double check the condition of the property when you arrive, take photos if you can. Also make sure you double check the condition again when you leave. The management tried to add false head counts on my booking and charged my credit card for incidents that did not happen.

Absolutely loved our stay. Clean and functional with fully equipped with everything you need. View was great, and so close to the ocean. We will definitely go back.

Relax and unwind in a private beach front home away from home.

They provide all facilities required. Specially a nice and traditional fireplace in living room. A gigantic backyard which can be used as playground, on top of that a kids playing area is a plus in the same ground. Nice view from living room.

Beautiful well presented cottage, excellent open fireplace. Fabulous views over their 10acres all the way to the beach. PComes fully equipped with everything you could need including basics like toiletries, washing up liquid & laundry powder. Lovely hosts. Highly recommend

Although winter the cottage was warm as we made use of the log fire. We didn't lack for anything as the cottage is fully self contained and comfortable. Stuart and Karen kept us supplied with firewood and were happy to attend to any needs. The cottages are located in a very peaceful location back from the road with a huge area of grassland for family activities, yet the beach is a short walk across the road.

What a fantastic location. Really enjoyed our stay at this peaceful location. The spa on the balcony was a real treat after our day of hiking on the Great Ocean Walk. Can’t wait to come back again.

Cottage was amazing! Accommodation had everything we wanted and more, including spacious rooms and most importantly an amazing shower.

To top it off the owners Stuart and Karen were the most kind people we have ever met. Stuart offered to help us convert our station wagon into a car and ended up smashing it out himself. Never met such gracious people in my life.

We stayed in the ‘Beach & Reef’ townhouse behind the cottages; located in Marengo. Great ocean views upstairs from balcony, large kitchen and lounge room. Short 2 minute walk to the beach. 30 minute walk to Apollo Bay shops. Great for kids to watch helicopters fly in/out to nearby airfield. Overall a comfortable stay - no problems with beds, linen, couches, wifi or hot water/pressure in shower. Plenty of kitchen utensils/crockery.

Could do with cleaning of fan vents and installing sliding flyscreens on doors - would have been lovely to have a breeze through the house. Aircon only upstairs and no ceiling or floor fans. Need to check powerboards; some look outdated. The ground-floor front ‘bedroom’ (appears converted from study/office) has internal glass doors and a large external window and sliding door - these could all be covered with pull down blinds however. This room warmed up quickly (may cause discomfort for some in Summer/Autumn months).

We stayed here for a few night on the summer holidays and loved every minute of it. The beach was like a minute walk away from our cottage and the main Street shops were a shirt drive away. While the weather wasn't great the fire inside the cottage keep us all warm. The bedrooms were very roomy and the kitchen has everything we needed. It was also great to sit on the balcony and relax.

Slug in one of the bedrooms on the curtain, no Foxtel even though it was advertised as being available, used fire blanket and the gas bottle for the barbecue was empty

WOW! We have stayed at these cottages a few times over the past few years and they have been great. Now some of them have been renovated and are simply fantastic. We stayed in Cottage 1 which has been repainted, has new beds and furniture, a new stove and a huge decking and gazebo area for entertaining. The view of the ocean and grounds from the decking is spectacular. Friends stayed in Cottage 3 which has also been renovated. What an amazing wallpaper featuring a koala and pictures of other Australian animals made us feel so at home. The perfect family holiday location with the beach about 20 meters away. Definitely going back.

Stayed in cottage 1 recently. Recently refurbished and was gorgeous! Furniture and decor so nice and modern. Beds super comfy with lovely clean linen. Open fire well stocked with wood, ready to go. Really enjoyed the stay and can't wait to return.
