Aphro & Wolfe reviews
17I used to love coming to this place and always enjoyed the warm reception, great staff, good coffee and delicious toasted sandwiches. I’m sorry to say my most recent visit was disappointing. The toasted sandwich wasn’t actually a pressed sandwich as they used to be - but really just two pieces of toast with a cold filling inside - which isn’t really the same thing as a toasted sandwich. Sandwiches were on the dry and limited flavour side - we got the two vegan options and these definitely could have been better - more nutlex / olive oil and vegan cheese would go a long way.
I just want to update my previous review where I had a couple of bad coffees in a row. Am happy to say my last two coffees here have been great - back to previous very high standards. And I should add that their toasties have always been great and remain so.

This place used to have absolutely fantastic coffee until quite recently. The last two coffees I’ve got here have been complete rubbish. I ended up tipping most of them out in the park.most recent bad coffee was this morning about 10, the other was last week.
Toastie and coffee are amazing.
Latino is the best toastie I ever had.
The service should improve. The staffs are not attentive.
When we came to order, they talked each other and didn’t care about us until we called them. Feel like staff doesn’t want to be there.
Overall, the food is good. The service could be better.
Will return xx
Had the poached chicken toastie, divine thx. Tried Hectors the day prior, this took out top place rank, will return.
Best coffee & chai we've had in a long time. Been coming here for years & they never disappoint. Thanks team!
Coffee & Toastie heaven.
Very cozy atmosphere.
Lots of pork options on the menu, but a couple of other options to choose from (pictured)
Would recommend for a slow morning
Aphro & Wolfe is a great little cafe if you like good coffee and toasties.
The coffee was great but the true stars of Aphro & Wolfe might be their toasties, little pockets of joy and flavor that are sure to bring a smile to your face.
We had the truffle chicken schnitzel and the Latino. Both were good but the former was the winner of the two.
Definitely worth a visit, and many returns.
Great coffee, only tried the toasties but they are full of flavour and a very healthy price, they also sell cartons of milk for a good price, highly recommend
Amazing toastie from this cafe. Cosy vibe, friendly staff and easy to park. I would come back!
Stopped in for breakfast but limited menu due to staff shortages that day which was a shame. Had a ham cheese toastie. It was ok. Will come back for full breakfast again one day.
Great sandwiches and coffee. Would definitely rate as one of Melbourne’s finest establishments! The toasties were crispy and buttery, just as a sandwich should be. Hurry, visit today!
I've been coming here for years, and for good reason. They basically have one thing: toasties, and they do it well. Props to a cafe that knows what they're doing as opposed to stretching themselves thin with a large menu.
I've never had a problem with any of the staff. And the atmosphere is casual and easy going. Outside of rush times, of course.
And speaking of rush times, food will often be delivered quickly, even while they're balancing Uber orders.
Best coffee with the most delicious danishes. They have great toasties as well. The staff is really friendly and makes you feel at home.
Yummy cafe. Not much seating though for 4 people when busy, but we eventually got a spot! Good to have GF options
One of the staff had a hissy fit after I ordered the dukkah and avocado. When I asked what was wrong I was told to “chill out dude”. Place is dead to me.
Best toastie spot around, they are all superb! If your hungover and feeling up for it give the Cubana a go. Really nice coffee too!
