Limited space, no lockable lockers (have to bring your own locker), old machines, not enough bathrooms, some equipment (e.g. Skier) missing, lack of amenities (even handwriting liquid).

Good equipment range. Unfortunately the prahran branch of anytime fitness isn’t as good as the south Yarra branch, which is offering a tea/coffee station, cleaner showers/brighter lighting, and cleaner equipment. I believe the resistance bands are in dire need of a clean and the dumbbells are rarely done. Some of the equipment is heavily rusted over on the adjustment handles and the handles of the carriages

Perfect workout space! A lot of room for everyone working out. All staff are friendly especially Amanda! Love it!

Been going here for a while now and it's a decent local gym for stopping me becoming a lard, however it is considerably small and outdated. Seems to be a common trend with these big gym corps, hardly any money is pumped back into maintaining, let alone updating their facilities. Even having months during covid desolation to do some TLC, nothing was touched. The water fountain gives out warm water, holes that grow with age, machine grips and pulls greasy, worn and broken. For everyone's $16/week you'd expect a bit more. It's one thing to provide a service, another to love and respect the service you provide.

Now that the gym is back and running with 24 hour access it’s a lot better. But be prepared for the demon/corrupt satanist daniel andrews to lockdown Melbourne again at any chance he gets.

Air ventilation system is not working properly. Washrooms are not that good. Quite difficult in changing the clothes.

Went for my free trial at the allocated time and there was no staff to let me inside. I stood there for 10 minutes and no one came. And no one answered the phone.

This is a good gym and the staff are friendly. I go there about once a month for a train and it's never to packed. I train at about 2pm. The only reason I give it a 4 star is because there is no dedicated area for deadlifts. You have to kinda muddle your way through it in the racks. It's awkward if you lift heavy. But I do understand there is not a lot of space. Maybe a floor for one of the racks would be good. Great to train at but not if your deadlifting

Way too small. Lacking of equipments, uncomfortable feeling as the crew which i believe is the owner and his sibling kept popping up every few minutes and trying to sell me something. Man, was my first and last time ever. No regret though.over my membership period between Nsw and Vic. This was my worst experience in miles. Sorry guys but that was my true experience. Not good

I've been going to "the gym" on and off for 15 years now. I've been at this gym for about 18 months and overall, it's great.

The Good:

First up - regarding the reviews about it being dated looking, they renovated and it's all modern looking now (not that I ever cared about that).

The (private) showers are pretty clean, definately better than average and I've never had to wait. They provide soap, and usually deodorant (mens and womens).

The equipment is plenty modern and well maintained.

While it's technically small, it doesn't feel crowded (clever placement of mirrors and lighting) and there is plenty of equipment to go around.

Not so good:

- The keycard system for 24/7 access. Sometimes it locks out my account, which denied me access to the gym on Sunday (unstaffed) on 2 occasions. Not a common occurrence, but you'd expect something fundamental like this to work right?

- The vending machine, sometimes the water bottle label gets stuck on the spindle so I have to buy 2 to knock it down if no staff are present.

- The lost keycard fee is pretty high (I lost my wallet).

I highly recommend this place. Not posting any pics because I don't want to accidentally get other members via the mirrors, etc.

AF Prahran is a small cosy gym, what they lack in size Stephen (club manager) more then makes up for in customer service. He’s the reason my partner and I stayed with the club. They have all necessary equipment and a perfect location:)

The kind of gym you don’t want to spend too much time in - do your workout and get out. Basic facilities, small gym. I only come here because it’s the closest to home, but it’s rarely a pleasant experience. Decor-wise, the place is in desperate need of a refurb. AF Prahran guys - if you’re reading this, PLEASE at least give the place a fresh coat of paint!

Great location and the service and facilities at the gym is great, the manager Steve is extremely helpful. The only downside I noticed was there are only 3 washrooms and they are all unisex, at peek hours I am guessing that they will get crowded. Overall it's a good environment to workout. Although, if you are looking for a lot of free weights this might not be the ideal gym around the area.

Small gym.
Could be a good spot when it's not busy which is rare.
But to be fair, they're well equipped and their staff are first class.
I just hope they could expand a lil bit

Small gym tucked behind Chapel that isn't too busy in peak after work hours and also offers Netflix/TV on the cardio machines

Predators preying on people desperate to get healthier/fitter!

The equipment and facilities are okay. Small space, difficult to access, not enough parking - I guess it's acceptable considering the location. I was somewhat convinced to sign up for a 18-month contract (quite easy when you find yourself suddenly unfit), yet I was handed with hefty joining fee as well as fob key fee. There was no complimentary trainer induction or anything.

It's almost always crowded and the "peak" times are pretty much unbearable. I moved houses and despite the fact that it would take a very long time to get to a crowded suburb like Prahran, I couldn't be released of my contract because I was still (just) within the 15km or whatever radius from them or any other Anytime Fitness. Combination of all these factors meant I ended up paying nearly 1500 dollars for barely using it.

Has a good range of equipment but the gym is so dated! I can’t believe Anytime actually let their franchises become so outdated with the rest of the brand. It actually feels like a dungeon inside and the bathrooms are disgusting. Cardio equipment is older style LifeFitness and doesn’t have software intergtation. Signs in gym state that reburbishment is due “later in the year”. But my question is, we are in September, which I would consider in the realm of “later in the year”. It’s not my home gym, and definitely won’t be until they do a refurb!

I have been an Anytime member for around 5 years now, visiting several gyms and this is undoubtedly my favourite. The staff here are first class, they always make you feel welcome and I've learnt some incredible techniques from the PT's I've never seen or heard of. The same goes for the members as well, great bunch of people. They have all the equipment you need and currently have plans to expand! Thanks guys!
