Anne's Pantry Surrey Hills

I ordered morning tea at this cafe, including two potato cakes, on Thu 28 Dec 23. The potato cakes were warm at best and clearly reheated from a previous day. They were literally like cardboard. My wife took them back, no problem. However, the next two were exactly the same and no attempt was made to cook fresh stock. Without a doubt, the worst potato cakes in my life. The cafe motto ‘always fresh and tasty’ was not our experience.

Also food is terrible from.bang Mi to Pies everything is below average quality.

I have been coming here for years very disappointed with this service today. Ordered a pork roll, asked for less carrot as it was being made, the manager / owner came up to me and said we don't take instruction on how to make our food we sell it as a pre made item very rudely. Not good customer service at all.
Will never come back this bakery, these owners are rude and controlling.
Now he has lost multiple customers from me, family and friends who did once frequent this once nice bakery

EDIT: Thanks for your reply. If I was instructed to Pay extra I would have been happy to. However the RUDE manager with glasses that thinks he's above us all doesn't give people that option. He treats them with rudeness and contempt like he's superior.
Not once was I asked to pay extra. He came over and said we do not take instructions from our customers. 10 people in the store witnessed this and all were disgusted and shocked with his behaviour
If you do not want to serve people food the way they like it, you should get out of the food industry.

Such bad customer service. Went in and asked for a little less carrot on my banh mi and was told by the manager that he doesn't take instructions from customers. Like, ok bro chill out it was a simple request but because you felt like you needed to control the situation you have now lost a long time customer. Food is going down hill anyway.

I didn't find a choice of 0. The chicken sandwich was worse, he warmed up 5 seconds and wrapped it (cold)!

I ordered uber eats here and they left out 2 caramel slices. I called and they didn’t even offer to drop them over, I even asked them if they could and they made excuses.

Big fan of Anne's, one of the top Banh MI's we've had. Unfortunately today after travelling 45 minutes, looking forward to our lunch we had to give up due to the level crossing works on Union Road. We tried so hard to get there but every road leading to you was blocked off and the traffic was bumper to bumper. I feel so sorry that we couldn't support you today but hope this stupidity is over soon and doesn't impact you too much. We'll be back

Very friendly service and yummy food options. Also makes a great flat white. Will return to buy some of their yummy looking mince tarts for Christmas!

Customer ordered deliver already 30min no people make the orders, all make walk in customer first

Went to the Union Road Christmas in July celebrations on the last day of July, and was greeted with a delicious Anne's Pantry gingerbread tree!

I had a corned beef and salad roll which was nicely prepared and very good ingredients, but no better or worse than other Vietnamese bakeries in the area.
But I was quite shocked when they asked me for $10.40, Really, they're Sister shop in Blackburn Square charges $7.50.
My opinion is these prices are becoming a unrealistic, and greedy I will not be returning, shame really as they are nice people but it seems everyone's just hiking up prices with the current trend of things but thankfully not everybody is and that's where I will be going.

Bought a crispy pork baguette or Banh mi. Worst ever had. Roll was small, pork was mostly
Fat () hardly any meat. Do NOT waste your time or money and i mist certainly will never again.

I have enjoyed a Regular Bahnmi @$8.50 until recently which I considered a fair price for a good quality product in the suburbs.
Now the cost has increased by 23.5% to $10.40 ea, which reflects city prices!
A reasonable price would be say $9.00….
I will have to reduce my love of this great product. No more visiting Anne’s Bakery!

This place has done a lot to me and my family. Through tough times when they asked politely if we wanted discounts to still knowing my name years later. This place truly and heartly holds a place in my heart. Food is always, always enjoyable with a wide variety and an extensive menu of different cultures. I cant think of a better place for a lunch meal. No wonder they are always busy and selling. The milkshakes are a highlight for me as they are fair priced and the Vietnamese rolls are great and introduced to Vietnamese food. Favorite local food place. No complaints

My review is now edited from 5 stars to 1. In the last year or so this place has declined in quality and service. The staff are rude, grumpy and clearly do not work well together. The food is lackluster at best and overpriced, and the coffee is toilet water. The arrival of a man in the store, presumably the owner, is about the time this place went to the pits. This used to be such great place.

Bought a pork roll here and watched her make it my dog would put more effort into making one and she charged me extra meat and hardly got anything overpriced and average food will not be back.

One of the best in the area. Amazing foods, great service, very friendly staffs. Would recommend:)

Been going here since i was a kid in the early 2000's sausage rolls and pies are great here i did notice i was getting less and less in the burger for the same price in comparison to what it was a few years back be varies on who makes it

Worst Vietnanese chicken roll ever, just a bunch of carrot strips inside, hardly any chicken and served cold, dissapointing

The place opens at 6am and I go in at 6.15am am told sorry there is no food to buy yet, why not say open at 6.30 and be ready?

Always busy. Guess why.the banh mi is so good, everything is fresh and crisp. Have been here 50 times at least, love it. Cheers, Simon J.
