Angie's Kitchen Moonee Ponds

I like the food here, but I'm aware that the staff are not very friendly. They rarely smile, especially in this busy restaurant. Recently, there was an incident where I noticed another customer looking uncomfortable because a staff member started using cleaning spray right next to them. The spray immediately reached them, posing a potential safety risk. It seems like a training issue; the staff should have sprayed the cleaning towel first. That was quite shocking. Despite this, it's still a great place to enjoy Cantonese dishes.

Be prepared to wait 1 hr for your food to arrive to the table only to get smacked with overpriced food that’s not good.

Has been a regular eatery for us when in Moonee Ponds as the kitchen has lots of our favorites done well.

The only negative is the rudeness of the front end manager or owner. Whilst his manner is never friendly or welcoming, at the last visit, a simple enquiry about getting a table was met with extreme rudeness!

So we ate elsewhere and despite the very good kitchen, we'll continue to do so.

Terrible Service and rude wait staff. Place nearly empty at 2pm. Wanted to sit next to my mum so we can converse better but was told we had to sit opposite each other. Condescending and judgemental. Never again.

All of the food was amazing. Everything came out very hot and very quickly, including the xiao long bao which said it had a 15 minute wait time. Friendly service as well and very nice restaurant ambience. Will definitely be back again!

Not my first time visiting this restaurant but definitely my last. Have always enjoyed the food here but tonight my honey chicken was inedible. Was left with a disgusting taste in my mouth. The other people I dined with all tried it and agreed that it had been cooked in old oil.
Explained this to the man as we paid for our food (as he mentioned how much food we had wasted) only to be dismissed and told that everything they cook is fresh and they are very busy so my food was fine. I wasn’t expecting anything out of this but his response was really disappointing.

Have been here several times as food and service very good. Had lunch there and as usual prompt friendly helpful service from staff. And food once again very nice

Honestly such a gorgeous interior - did not expect it to be so aesthetic. Love that you can order off the iPad - such speedy service from the kitchen! We had an absolute feast - highly recommend the dumplings, Peking duck, eggplant, baos, pipis and green beans - oh and definitely the mango pudding for dessert.

Efficient and consistent, friendly service. Food quality is superb and meals come out super quickly! Have tried most of the dumplings, but I never miss getting the Pan Fried Pork dumplings each time I visit. Being a local to MP, Angie's is always first on the list when we don't feel like cooking!

Omg, Angie’s Kitchen is incredible! Such beautiful food, we ordered SO much and everything we got was unreal! I love this place so much. But what I love the most is the manager, whenever I’ve come here for a special occasion and requested in the booking a special desert surprise for the bday person, they DELIVER! Which means unlike some, Angie’s kitchen actually read the notes in the booking and due to this reliability and going above and beyond, I’ll come back time and time again. Thank you so much Angie’s!

Efficient and prompt service. Reservations recommended for weekends. Each dish we tried was great. Order to table via iPad. The crispy fried eggplant wowed me more than expected. I’m not a fan of egg plant but the way it was cooked and presented, paired with a honey garlic spicy sauce it was simply amazing!

Roast trio is great if you’re a meat lover. Duck meat is tender so is the roast pork. Char siew is a little on the dry side and a little tough so no wow factor for me. Curry laksa noodles is generous portion with seafood but would be better enhanced if the soup is more coconut based. Overall, it is good for meals anytime.

Ordered a chicken fried rice. The waitress delivered a pork fried rice. They were too busy to reciting the error. It was a waste of time and money. Then I ordered a soup that never arrived for 30 minutes. Ended up cancelling it. Service was slow and customer service was below average.

Fantastic restaurant, the food had so much flavour and delicious. David and his staff were exceptional, their service was great.

Rude manager. This guy doesn't know good manners. First time I thought was a language barrier issue, today confirmed it's a problem of arrogance and inability to understand basic communication skills.

The food at Angies is great but we were very disappointed with the rush to clean the place and kick us out. Our dinner started at 7pm and half an hour later the staff was trying to get rid of us and we hardly started to eat! They moved most of the chairs on the of the tables. Didn’t allow us to order extra drink or late dessert. And Started to bleach clean the floor. It was very unfair to treat customers like this while we paid the ver 130$ for the diner.

You get exactly what's promised great food served quickly and in a busy buzzing environment.

Have dined here a few times, the food is really great but I feel it's near impossible to get some water at your table, even when you haven't ordered any drinks.

Great little place with excellent food, both quality and options. We'll be going back again.

Food was tasty but the service ain’t so good. We ordered using the iPad and one of main course sharing plates turned up first. Then a couple of the entrees and finally after asking the other sharing plate and rice.

Then at 20.30 the front doors got opened to let the 4degree cold in and stools started getting out on tables around us.

Won’t be in a rush to go back. Maybe choose Laksa King next time.
