Anderson Fish & Chip Shop

As fish n chips shops go now this is one other best around. I have seen 3-4 other people try and make this shop work but these owners make it work. They are so welcoming and friendly. The food is always cooked fresh and reasonable prices and always too many chips. Love this place and the food,

Amazing place if you want good food, very competitive prices, generous portions and take away.

If you like cold steamed dim sims and potatoe cakes that are cooked in oil that is to cold so they end up greasy and oily this could be your go to place. Also make sure you get everything you ordered before you leave the shop the lady will try and argue what you ordered, luckily she put it through the register, which told the story. I will give a big thumbs up to the bottle of coke though, it was good and cold.

Won't admit my age but that was the best. Flake, don't expect much. But this was great. Chips, so many. But the point is the end result was a great seafood dinner cooked in the cleanest new oil. Will be back soon cos I have never had better

A favourite for fish and chips in Fawkner, we love to order the fisherman's basket, which has flake, scallops, prawns, calamari rings and chips, just the right amount for three of us to share! Deliciously crispy fried fish, excellent quality, which tastes amazing, and the chicken salt is perfect! Lovely, friendly service, highly recommended!

Based on the food, I'll give it a 5 Star. Of course no restaurant is five out of five but highest rating for a wife/husband team. The place itself needs a bit of a facelift to make it more welcoming.

I had flake, chips, calamari, potato cakes, dim sim, prawns, and scallops. I was a bit weirded out by the size of the scallops as they were extremely massive. At first I thought they were something else. All the scallops I've had have been rhe size of a 50 cent coin? ‍️.

I'd come back and just narrow down my list to flake, prawns, chips, and potato cakes.

Really old school style fish and chips.
Chips are awesome. Haven’t tried much on the menu besides chips, potato cake, flake and dimmies but all of those are on point. And super cheap. Like, this can’t be legit cheap. Owners seem lovely also, always pleasant to deal with.

You know that fish and chip shop that lives in your memories, drenched in nostalgia from your childhood? This is the one. Tasty, cheap, super friendly, and with that jar of pickled onions on the counter. And they’re open later than the other f&c shops in Fawkner. Chips were perfect, potato cakes $1 each and super yum, and they made some great burgers (vegetarian for me, too). Go there!

Best fish and potato cakes i reckon I have ever had and that's coming from a veteran of eating fish and chips all over Australia!

45 min wait for grilled whiting, potatoes cakes and flake very greasy. Shop very dirty, needs health department

Used to be good with old owners.
Now run terrible.
Food all pre Cooked and just double fried.
Go elsewhere.
