Appalling customer service in this place. I went to buy a new bicycle for my kid and I had to approach the guy to ask for information after a while standing there waiting for any of them to approach, this is the second time I have experienced such treatment in Anaconda. The worst was his face of annoyance all the time, tbh if he doesn't like his job, it's not my problem. After wasting my time there, I went to a different bikes shop and I was welcomed, infinitely better customer service and bought the bicycle there, it's your loss Anaconda.

Bought a camping fridge advertised as 12&240v. There was no 12v adapter, and the store staff refused to give me one saying it was an optional extra, despite the fact their website and the manufacturer's both say a 12v cord is included.

Huge place. Large number of items appears to be limited staff with limited knowledge of products or difficult to get much help. Fit on rooms! They have them locked even without a notice. Said due crime. Bizzar

Warning long review because good customer service deserves to be recognised!

Today, my wife and I visited the store with the intention of purchasing a new bike for myself. Upon arriving at the bike section, we noticed that there was no staff present. I approached the front desk and requested assistance, and that's when a helpful young man named Jack stepped forward. He was upfront about his level of expertise, admitting that he had some knowledge about bikes but wasn't the store's designated expert. Nevertheless, he assured us that he would do his utmost to assist us.

I bombarded Jack with numerous questions about various bike models, and to my surprise, he was able to provide helpful answers. For the questions he couldn't immediately answer, he took the initiative to retrieve the information and promptly returned with the answers. After consulting with Jack, my wife and I decided on a mountain bike priced at $300.

Subsequently, we also wanted to purchase a bike for my wife. Unfortunately, the bike she desired was out of stock, but a display model was available. Jack informed us of the store policy, which required the display bike to be approved by the bike expert before allowing us to purchase it (for safety reasons). He explained that the store's bike expert, Carey, was approximately 10-20 minutes away, and if we were willing to wait, he could inspect the display bike and authorise the sale. I found this policy to be fair and appreciated their commitment to legality and safety.

We patiently awaited the arrival of the bike expert, and true to his word, Carey showed up. Calling him a "bike expert" would be an understatement! We revisited all the bike options, asked countless questions, and Carey even steered me towards a different display bike that might better suit my needs.

Once again, Carey emphasised the importance of thoroughly inspecting the bikes before allowing us to take them home. I anticipated a quick check involving spinning the wheels, kicking the tyres, and then proceeding with the sale. However, that was far from the truth. Carey meticulously mounted each bike on a stand and meticulously examined every screw tension, chain tension, brake strength, and gear ratios. Throughout this process, he explained how each bike functioned and provided valuable insights on bike maintenance, things to watch out for, and how to maximise our enjoyment of the bikes.

Encountering such old-school customer service is increasingly rare in today's world. I left the store completely amazed by the entire experience.

Both Jack and Carey, hailing from different generations, are a testament to the exceptional standards of the Anaconda brand. I commend them both for their outstanding service and commitment to providing customers with an extraordinary shopping experience.

Anaconda box hill customs service doesn’t exist, no one greeted me at all until I paid for my stuff. Went to get some bait from the freezer but the freezer was sticky and looked like Is hasn’t been cleaned for a long time. No one to help even though lots of staff. The fishing area was so unorganised like they have no one looking after that area. Yes they have cheap Prices but what’s the point when the rods aren’t sorted in anyway.

My wife and I visited your store on Friday the 28th April. Chris, amidst all his busyness buzzing between the checkout, answering other patrons query, was able to answer any question we had for the purchase of the Merrell hiking shoes my wife was looking for. He was kind enough to point out that the size 8 though appearing to fit my wife's feet under normal circumstances would be less than comfortable walking down slopes as he had touched and felt her toes were in contact with part of the tip of the boots. He checked stock and pointed to the Preston store where we headed for the next day and in fact ended up buying the boots from yesterday 29th April 2023. Great job Chris. Though you did not achieve your sale at your store, Anaconda was still a winner as we purchased our shoes at another Anaconda store. Exceptional service mate. Keep it up and hope others can imitate your professionalism. Wishing you, your team and Anaconda well.
P. S. I myself bought a pair of Keen boots from the Box Hill store more than a month ago.

Shame on you Ryan! Worst customer service ever.

Was buying a Coleman 10p darkroom tent, macpac listed for 599 and anaconda listed for 699. Anaconda can beat it by 10 percent. However upon paying Ryan the manager advised it’s a different/ upgraded product. I didn’t have too much time on the spot so just paid the 699. When I got home, I did some simple online research and found out that the macpac one and anaconda one are exactly the same with the same SKU and bar code. I rang back to Ryan, been hang up TWICE by his condescending and impatient tone saying he think he know how things work and refuse to accept the fact that he is wrong. Later I rang macpac and they took photo of the tent and emailed to me: guess what? Exactly the same product! I rang Ryan again and said I have proof from macpac these two are the same product. Same package. SKU and barcode. He was still very pricky over the phone. So I went to the shop myself and asked a girl for Ryan and I called him a dhead because he’s been wasting so much of my time. He then showed up, obviously knew he mistreated me in the first place and wasted so much of time already. Then played his final card that because I called out his name he is not gonna serve me! Hahaha ultimately pathetic and childish behaviour! I called out him because of his unprofessional behaviour and mistreatment over the phone! Ok I’ll need my money back! Finally he is happy to refund me. And I shamed him publicly in front of his whole team. That’s the whole story! Guess what later I went to anaconda hawthorn and they price matched straight away. Very very very pathetic behaviour of Ryan and I’m not surprised to see soo many negative reviews of this shop in particular.

It's a well set out store and very friendly staff that are willing to help you anytime you need them they are there.

Would give 0 if I could, store was a mess, out of stock left right and centre, staff were floating around everywhere seemingly oblivious to staff, waited 20 min to be served at the register while several staff members floated past, ended up walking out.

We had a very poor experience here. The Manager would not give us a full refund for 2 items we had receipts attached to memberships for because their system doesn't allow them to view receipts from other stores. The return policy specifically states you can return an item to any anaconda store, however because this store couldn't contact the store it was originally purchased from by phone I was told I would only get a refund for "the lowest price the items have EVER sold for". The poor staff member tried to help us and there was a huge line of customers waiting resulting from this debacle. We spent over $1000 at Anaconda stores today but this experience has made me question whether I'll go back. Even more frustrating is that Macpac sell both items for more and happily take items they can resell without receipts but we wanted to do the right thing and go back to where it was purchased. I know where I'll be going in the future. So disappointed!

Came in with my gas cylinder - that I purchased from this store - to recharge. Waited in a long queue to be told that “we’re not recharging today! ” Such a disappointment and dissatisfaction. The staff seemed don’t care about customers time being wasted. No sign at entrance or in the waiting line that gas cylinder recharge service is not available.

Decent range and prices. Staff young, didn’t seem to know their products, how to use registers or their protocols. And that is if you can find a staff member. Lots of products out of stock but it’s just before Christmas so that’s sort of understandable.

Christmas and Easter crazy special price, I was bought two pairs of brikenstock half price. Online apply to be a member, it’s so convenient to get members price, something member has a good price. The location was fine, take a bus from Boxhill within 30 minutes. Opposite is Bunning warehouse. Men would waiting their wife in there.

My bike had some damage and I desperately needed it to be repaired by the following day. Carey was so helpful and despite the fact that we came in half an hour before closing, he helped me and and changed a part very last minute. He's such a kind person, I'm truly grateful for all his help! Thank you so much Carey!
