Menswear, Tried to purchase for my husband an advertised puffer coat. The menswear section is an absolute mess, No order to any of it. Would have more luck finding product if was on the floor, which a fair bit of it was.largest size in stock is a medium & in the wrong colour. No stock, in winter, in Ballarat. Totally hopeless. Staff had no answer. Absolute retail disaster. Manager is accountable, or maybe not. Never again. Katmandu & Aussie disposals may be the go.

I like Anaconda for their quality products and cheap prices. Unfortunately every time I go into the Ballarat store staff are non existent now and pre covid. Especially if you go into the shoe section, it feels like the staff avoid the shoe section in particular because it is such a disorganised mess and the stock in store never matches what the website says they have. C'mon guys you can do better.

I had my integrity questioned over the price of shoes I had taken to the counter to purchase today. When he said 190, I said the tag displays 179. He wasn't prepared to budge, until I offered to get the tag from the shelf. When I returned, he begrudgingly put them through and then had the audacity to ask me to put the tag back on the shelf. Mate, you doubted my honesty without checking, then direct me like I'm a staff member. When you put me on the pay role, then I'll consider following your orders. Pretty ordinary treatment, given I was polite and helpful towards you. I understand you may be short staffed and having a rough day but that wasn't fair or called for. - 1 customer.

I was planning to buy a bicycle for me and my son. As i am not expert cycle rider i check in online few bicycle i went to shop buy one. I found a sales person in cycle area he is helpful to answer my few questions and advised me they can assembled cycle about $30. Then i found a cycle displayed suitable for me which he say no stock. I thought may order through online. Any way i went to to sales person her name is Bernadette or something she was not happy to see my face may be because i am coloured person or inside racism in her mind cant accept or digest i am buying a bicycle from Anaconda. I showed her from my phone the model i am looking for. When i got a good deal in other shops with good customer support i cancelled within hours. End of story never judge people by apperance.

Unfortunately there were no tent poles.
I was on holiday in Ballarat using it for the first time, OMG NO TENT POLES.
I went to the Ballarat store, and explained what had happened.
They went out of their way to help me

Beautifully friendly staff and the woman at the counter had the most friendly and bubbly personality. Very pleasant shopping experience.

Store is ok, prices often more expensive but will price match if you can show other store's price

Ballarat store service is disgusting
Not only that, Anaconda as a business is terrible.

Firstly, if you see a sale don’t rush in to buy what you want. WAIT! Last summer, we walked in to buy 2 long standup paddle boards. On special at the time we purchased. Less than 24hrs a further discount of a couple of hundred of dollars. (they are not cheap) Made contact with head office and got told Oh, sorry. Nothing we can do.

12 months later, give Anaconda one more chance. Go in to buy 2 caravan fans. Installed one, perfect. Second fan doesn’t work and return it next day. Staff tell me we need to send off and will be two weeks before we get a replacement. It’s brand new bought less than 12 hours ago. They finally replaced it but asked us for our driver license for the return. Note: we weren’t asking for a refund!
If anyone reads this, by law, you DO NOT NEED TO PROVIDE any proof of verification as long as you have a receipt or a VIP membership. There are only two reason you should provide a drivers license.
1 - Australian Police Force request
2 - when you are applying for credit or any credit application.

Due to so much scams happening in Australia, Anaconda should know better. Especially, if it’s under $199

The manager at Ballarat through her stapler down hard on the desk and become very aggressive in her body language and tone. Extremely unprofessional.

I will stick to Snowys camping and other camping store from here onwards.

This was originally a 5 star reviewed, now changed AFTER I've spent/wasted 1250 dollars.
Amazingly UNprofessional service.
Telephoned this morning with some REALLY specific questions about the Dune Popup Rooftop tent. The manager TOLD ME she went on to the store floor and measured the frame dimensions, and that the support rails for the tent were 1900mm long. HOWEVER, having just bought the tent, I find they are only 1500mm long, meaning the tent CANNOT be attached to the trailer purchased for this purpose.
Avoid similarly expensive mistakes by shopping elsewhere/online

Was served by a lovely new team member, Jacqueline on Sunday. She eagerly asked questions about my purchase to try and understand what different items were for - explaining that she was only new there. Signed me up for the membership program to get an additional discount & we had a great laugh!

Went in to buy some stuff for my trip to Finland. Had a very handsome staff member called Bobby recommend me Italian made boots and they were fantastic! Comfortable, great support, waterproof and just a general dream to wear. Great recommendation!

Was awesome service on the fishing section by Dave gave many tips and helped us a lot. He even tan out to the car park to give us even more tips.

Went in with next to no idea about fishing but was helped straight away by the staff. Walked out very satisfied with my new gear and very helpful information on the area. Would recommend visiting

Very disappointed with my visit to Anaconda Ballarat today. The store was completly messy with clothes on the floor and very disorganised racks made it difficult to find anything. Only one person on check out was frustrating especially when that one person left station to help customer find something in the store. Oh and no staff to be seen to provide assistance. Very unpleasant

Keep getting so many bargains there, fishing gear, clothes. Huge range. Cant go to Ballarat without a stop into Anaconda. Read about slack service, um, open your mouth and talk to them. Thats what mouths are for. They have always been more than helpful when I've asked. Trouble with the world today, the me me me generation. All expecting to be treated like princess's. It's a great store, simply ask!
Update.
Went there today seeing in stock they had Wilson Yabby nets. March 23/ 2022. Drove 60ks there but upon asking they said sorry we have none. The guy checking went out of his way to see if the competitor had them and told me he checked and they did. He knew I drove to buy them. I think that is exceptional service to see if I could still get them in Ballarat. I went and got them. I have never had bad service there. The staff are great. Just use common sense manners and treat them like you would like to be treated. Hmmm, common sense, not so common, be polite people, they are a good crew.
That's why I always go back there.

Was a little or more disappointing that I had to search the store myself for an item I needed, the same of which I had purchased 6 months prior, from staff saying no don't have them, never had them, check here check there, eventually found them nowhere near what they're related to. Hopefully was just a bad day.
