4Incredible care and support provided to participants and Support Workers by Amity Care Services.
We have just left amity a few weeks ago and I thought I would share our experience with them. We where with them for roughly 3 years at the start they were fantastic and then things started to change, the response on emails about shift changes giving weeks in advertence where left to last minute; Staff where unwell which is totally ok but they where not able to cover the shift with someone that knew my sons needs (he's currently 4 years old with cerebral palsy level 5, non-verbal and PEG feed) so we needed someone who knew my son as someone new wouldn't be able to provide a lot of care to meet his needs without training and his PEG feeding was not a simple PEG feed; I had to train staff to PEG feed which is ok but then we wouldn't see them again this happened with a few staff, I requested shadow shifts for new staff over and over again but would never get them and they charged adult high care needs for my son when Ndis funds base children differently; they then started making me feel that Riley should be a 2 person lift which would be fine if he was big and heavy (I spoke to my sons physio and had to get her to do a report stating he isn't yet a 2 person lift) he is currently 4 years old under a metre in length and 14.5kg I myself can carry him with 1 arm; in the end we where a number and they didn't care about my sons needs or try to understand it, they made endless promises with no result.
I work closely with this company as a therapist and they are excellent. I know any of my clients are in the best hands if they are being cared for by amity.
Amity care are absolutely amazing
Their carers and reception staff are amazing
They always welcome me with a smiling cheery face each morning and can tell if I am having a bad day without asking.
They match you up with a carer that know you will get along with which makes my time with them.
I could not recommend Amity Care highly enough
