Ambrosia - The Culinary Exchange : A Modern Indian Restaurant (South Melbourne) reviews
20The best restaurant in recent times. If you are in Melbourne city this restaurant is worth visiting. Food is very good, presentation was awesome and to the mark.
Unique and full of flavour!
Especially the Appetisers were awesome. Especially the vada bao!
New modern Indian fusion restaurant in South Melbs. Food was incredible. Especially pani puri, butter chicken lasagne (must try), and fish curry. Staff are lovely and service was top notch. Will be back.
I recently dined at Ambrosia, the food quality, especially the Indian fusion dishes, was superb. Every dish was a culinary delight, seamlessly blending traditional Indian flavors with a modern twist, However it's worth noting that the prices were on the higher side. While the quality justified the cost to some extent, it might be considered a bit pricey for some diners. Worth the visit!
I came here on a whim when my mum shared an Instagram video review of this place. Food was most excellent and delicious. A good amount of spice in the food and good use of fusion with traditional Indian dishes. Services was top notch as well
It’s a great restaurant. Great ambience Great food, absolutely love it. Everyone should must visit.
One of the best restaurants in Melbourne.beautiful atmosphere, tasty food and lot of variety…must visit
Absolutely loved my visit to Ambrosia! The biryani was a flavor explosion, perfectly spiced and cooked to perfection. Each bite was a delightful journey through rich, aromatic spices. And the Arinchini Malai, Oh, it was to die for!
Ambrosia truly lives up to its name, offering a divine dining experience. Highly recommend!
We went to Ambrosia restaurant for first time which is a contemporary Indian fusion newly opened restaurant and the ambience, food and the service is amazing. We were served by Vidhita who was an excellent hostess & owner herself and she explained all the dishes very well. We were first ones whom they served rasmalai parle G mousse, which was bang on. We even enjoyed the chicken lollipops and Bao vada (their twist on the classics) which was so scrumptious. A must try restaurant. Kudos to the team keep up the great work.
Not worth driving for 35 minutes from west to visit for some quality food.especially North Indian.we had papad platter i can make better at home i guess because we all have onions, tomato and capsicum at home. No taste, No spice.had half cooked roti too
We had a wonderful dinner celebrating my son's 18th birthday.
We took some lovely photos of family against the colourful backdrops. The staff were very attentive and accommodating and interested in how we were enjoying the fusion foods. We loved them! Particularly the chicken Biryani, lollipop chicken and Mexican dosas. The timing of rolling out the numerous share dishes was spot on! Highly recommended.
Dined at Ambrosia and it was a delightful experience. Their menu offers a great variety of fusion dishes each bursting with unique spices and flavours. The fish curry was exceptional- spicy and cooked to perfection. The atmosphere was cozy, making it a great spot for family dinners.
Ambrosia is a great new restaurant that brings a brilliant mix of taste and innovation to the melting pot that is Melbourne's culinary scene. The colourful murals on the walls and the cozy interiors make it a lovely choice for dinner dates or intimate gatherings. The staff is super friendly and generous, and will go to great lengths to make sure you have a good time there!
They offer a good mix of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes.
For non-vegetarians, I'd recommend getting their chicken lollipop (which is probably the best you'll get anywhere in the city) and the tawa fish for entrees. For mains, their butter chicken lasagna is to die for and is proof of the fact that the restaurant delivers what it promises, namely modern Indian-fusion cuisine. If you're in the mood for more traditional flavours, go with the green chicken or the fish curry (both excellent) with some naan or rice.
For vegetarians, I'd recommend getting the pav bhaji burger (my favourite) or the vada bao for entrees and for mains, the dal makhani or the arancini malai.
DO NOT LEAVE WITHOUT TRYING THEIR COCKTAILS. Their cocktails are good enough to compete with Melbourne's best bars. For the chocolate lovers, try their Amarula drink, it is INSANE. They also make a mean gin sour, although my personal favourite is their gin & cabernet sour.
They also have a great selection of desserts. I've tried all and liked all, but if I had to pick two, I'd recommend going with either the sizzling brownie or the rasmalai tiramisu. Worth every calorie.
Ambrosia is a hidden gem for indian food, must try for people who love to try new food. Loved the butter chicken lasagna and green chicken.
Very disappointed with the service from this restaurant. Tried to order through Uber. After 1/2 hour of placing the order the delivery driver calls me and asks me to cancel the order as the restaurant is not taking the food order. Not only they have wasted the time of the poor uber delivery driver but absolutely no courtesy to cancel the order from their end immediately when they received the order. Terrible service as I had to call the restaurant and asked them to cancel the order.
Service was bad, we waited nearly for 1 and half hour to get our food and still it was not ready, so we had to cancel our order. Starters were ok with 1 dish being too salty and other without any salt.
If you want an authentic Indian food then this isn’t meant to be the right place. Presentation was extraordinary but taste was so awful.
The menu is a mixture of classics and fusion twists. But everything is fresh and flavourful. Great vegan options too.
Dining at Ambrosia was a an amazing experience. The taste and presentation of the fusion dishes offered were quite remarkable. My absolute favourite was the Pao Bao and the Go green chicken. However, the star of the night was the mango panacotta. Highly recommend trying this new gem in South Melbourne.
Unique culinary experience of mingling Indian dishes with a fusion twist that brings mouthwatering flavours that delight your taste buds! Definitely worth visiting and experiencing for yourself!
The fusions are well balanced to enjoy the various flavours in a great harmony.
