Hi I'd like to thank John (Big John) at Altronics Springvale store for his excellent service and on the mark identification of the correct cable I need. I was so happy that I came back and purchased another one for a second TV. John was kind and patient - I wasn't in the best of moods after being given the run-around at another store.

It's ok. Probably better than Jaycar but not as many around. On the day I visited there were not enough staff and it seemed quite busy. They were helpful when you could get a hold of one. Out of stock on an item I wanted also. Handy if you are near one and I would recommend them as their range is better and more focused than their competition

Thanks for the informative service by John (Big John - he calls himself!) as he steered me in the right direction when it comes to my sound installations. Without his expertise my artistic audio productions would have lacked intimacy, clarity and verocity. I will procure his services in future at Altronics when in need. Thanks very much John.

Springvale store: Great service today. I came in to pick up my online order which wasn't quite ready, but that was my fault for not waiting for a call to say its ready. Anyway, two customers were already being served when I got there, but I was acknowledged almost immediately and then a third worker was called out from the office to assist as it was getting busy. Shortly after that, not one, but two of the workers worked as a -team- to fulfil my online order without delay, and apologised. They were friendly and helpful. Everything I needed was also in stock. Only buy on line here now as the cost of traveling to Melbourne from Sale, Victoria is prohibitive due to rising fuel prices caused by the current war in Ukraine. I restock most components from WES components in Sydney but Altronics are handy for the odd items I require for electronic design work.
Also they give the trade customer the best price break of all the retail suppliers. Much more competitive than their opposition in retail electronics.

Placed an online order in the carpark after being told by a rather blunt/rude staff member counter sales not available. After waiting 45 minutes observing at least 4 warehouse staff stand around from the carpark I asked a very rude and disinterested staff member if she could give me a rough estimate on how long my order might take as I'm waiting outside to collect it. She responded rudely with a "don't know" and "it will be ready when it's ready" response and promptly closed the roller door as if to say "screw you". It goes without saying that the staff are seriously lacking in customer service and I definitely won't purchasing any of their products in the future. Unless you want to be treated like dirt I highly recommend going elsewhere!

Been there for first time and been amazed by products and by there customer service. BEN was really helpful and I would recommend to promote him to a manager. It's Loyalty this people brings in from customers going to give you sales more than products.

Items cost 3x times more than on eBay (Same Chinese knock off. Not the genuine Adafruit ESP32. See attached picture of the genuine board), but the click and collect time is almost the same. Customer service is pretty bad and even the staff don't know how it works.

When I tried to locate a crystal earpiece for a radio project, the staff assumed.ed that i was wrong and that such a thing did not exist. Undermining the customer

Came to buy some cables from a local business. Great service, didn't wait long and the guy got me what I needed. Will look to buy from here again first before looking at JB or anything! 1/4 of the price of the big retail stores too.

Staff are ok, Their range is very good.some of their parts are way overpriced a USB Hub you can buy at Kmart for $ 10 they charge exactly for the same thing $ 44 its just been re packaged. HDMI Splitter Box is almost $ 100 when you can buy them at half that. Not sure as to why the high prices?

They are not always the cheapest on everything, but if it's more than one thing you're after it is often quicker and with delivery costs on top, often works out cheaper in the end to go to Altronics. Huge variety of components for both DIY electronics as well as Hacker work. They are almost never out of stock. Easy to get to on Princes Hwy, plenty of parking and staff are always helpful in finding things for you. Unlike other stores catalogue is free.

The price is overwhelmingly more expensive than it should be as compared to online stores. I was getting a set of 100 basic LED bulbs for my photon particle setup for $18 whereas you can get a set of 300 for around $8 in banggood. Nevertheless, if you need items on the spot, the price can still be argued as reasonable.

Range of items - 4/5
I got everything I needed for my project except for a few exceptions but the employee helped me get the appropriate replacements for my setup.

Overall - 4/5
Good experience shopping here, I got a student discount with my ID card and saved a few bucks but it was still pretty expensive for what I could have gotten online. I needed the parts right away, so I dont regret shopping here.

Very welcoming place, with staff who are keen to help and very knowledgeable. As someone unfamiliar with electronics I didn’t feel out of place:)
