Altona Sports Centre reviews
18Four courts of basketball fun and mayhem. Thank goodness the days of the hoop being held up by a post are gone.
We had a great experience at Altona Sports Centre! The facilities are clean and well-maintained, and the staff are friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this centre to anyone looking for a place to play sports or have a fun activity.
Great facilities, as always could do with some more parking and food options, especially when there’s big events on.
A modern and spacious sports centre with lots of parking, good amenities and you can also get food and coffee on site. Can get very busy and loud during training and games
Bad environment, poor coaching, had a severe issue with a certain coach in 2018 which led to the Altona basketball council and committee not cooperating and or listening to parents and children when extreme problems were causing families to HATE this club. GET YOUR STUFF TOGETHER COMMITEE! YOU CAUSED US COUNTLESS MONTHS OF STRESS AND HATRED FOR THE CLUB!
Really disappointed with the lack of clarification and communication from this facility. We booked a court for volleyball training. At the time of booking, staff never mentioned that we were expected to bring our own net and poles (in my 18 years of playing volleyball competitively I have never heard of a sports centre that lets you hire their space for volleyball but does not provide net and poles).
We arrived ready to train to find out they didn’t have any of the basic necessities at our disposal.
If you’re going to let ppl hire your space for volleyball, tell them they are expected to bring their own poles and net or put it as a disclaimer on your website.
"Sports" centre is a bit of an overstatement, just Basketball & Netball but very nice facility.
The grandchildren use the bike tracks there which are nicely laid out. 3 stars as your contractor has left behind some traps which will injure a child eventually. Like sunken drainage pits (hard to spot in the long grass) rights next to the track that kids just miss and parent running to avoid the accident.
Great complex, especially for Bball and Netball. New out door Court is a much needed and enjoyed addition. Good little tuck shop inside and plenty of amenities. Only issue would be it gets crazy busy and parking can be an issue.
0 stars if possible. $30 an hour for a shoot around on a Sunday is absolutely criminal. Do yourself a favour and go anywhere else where they charge $7ph. Won't return to this joke of a club.
Newly renovated the place looks amazing. Staff are pleasant. Free parking, wheelchair parking and access
Awesome complex, courts are great with enough seating to support teams and has a little shop to buy refreshments and some snacks etc. Parking is good.
It's clean and new and the staff are nice. However my complaint comes because the baby change tables are not accessible unless you hunt someone down to unlock the disabled toilets for you, or wait in the really long canteen line to speak with someone.
This has happened to me on a few occasions now. Meaning I end up missing most of my other child's game.
Maybe you should consider putting a change table in the women's bathroom?
But also I feel like the disabled toiled needs to be accessible the moment you open the doors.
Also the bin on the footpath has been there for at least a year now. Probably Hobsons Bay issue and I've made a complaint there also.
Staff here were amazing and set everything up for the school basketball games. Courts and bathrooms were clean and we also had to sanitise our game and practise basketballs before and after leaving the facility. Also around the main foyer are many posters for teams looking for players and tournaments to play in, I would recommend checking that out to see if you would want to join any of those.
Attended a BigV basketball game on 11/4/21 and the entire Stadium smelt like sewerage. Very uncomfortable.
Very nice, clean and big and very happy staff, got my new set of teeth, could not be more happy wish I came to this place early i am very happy with the service and the staff and especially the doctor.
Great Basketball place. Extra respect for having a Kobe Bryant Memorial painting/mural on one of the walls after he died.
