Altona RSL

Went there with friends to have dinner. We had steak set. It was delicious. I enjoy the vibe there, it was so relaxing and warm. The service is good, and the toilet is also clean.

Altona RSL was an amazing experience. The band was incredible on Australia day-as was welcoming nature of the staff and the punters there.

The seafood platter for 2 was $75 - The calamari was so tender it just melted in your mouth we will be back for that.sadly the lobster was dry that was very dissapointing as it was not enjoyable at all, the steak was thin but tender advertising said 2 glasses of wine but was told not available on a Friday.signage should reflect that

All other meals were fine the steak was suppose to med rare but was over done, place was clean staff friendly

Nice venue, very good reasonably priced meals and drinks, meals served to tables, this was pleasantly unexpected for a venue like this, specials nights Monday to Thursday, Pokies available. Lots of staff on busy nights.

Really like this place, but some of the staff can be a bit grumpy and pushy at times.

Well presented, expansive well priced menus Regrettably senior waitress was not too obliging, needs to improve PR skills. Bar staff attentive and professional.

Finally made it to the RSL after moving here for three years. My partner had been coming for as long as it’s been open and raved about it.
Modern building and amenities including generous dining spaces, pokies and bar.
Menu is good and there is certainly something for everyone.
I had chicken Kiev and my partner had surf and turf both with chips and salad.
Generous portion sizes and flavour was pretty good. It’s really a pub meal and has similar atmosphere.
Excellent for seniors and disabled people who are well catered for. Kids as well.
Bottle of Pepperjack to round off a nice evening.

My wife and I have just moved to Melbourne from interstate and we happened to find this gem of an establishment. We were able to use their facilities for a very pleasant Saturday night meal recently.
Prices were very reasonable and the RSL staff were very friendly and efficient. As both my wife and I both have a seniors card we were able to order the 3 course seniors meal for an extremely generous price. The bar staff were also very engaging. A pleasant location to enjoy a good family dinner for those looking for options.

Great food.much better than some of the local restaurants in my neighborhood. Great service as well thank you

A well set up RSL which keeps true to its role of remembering and honouring people who served Australia during times of conflict.

Purchased the bushman's meal was not impressed with steak was only about 150grams not the 300 grams as stated not well cooked not worth tge $35. Had about 5 meals and none have been up to standed.

Attended a wake here in a function room. Aircon was not working properly. Extremely hot inside and it was only 27 degrees outside. Food came out in drips and drabs. Not enough to feed the crowd.

Solid bistro meals in a family friendly environment.

We've lived in the area a couple of years and finally made our way down to the RSL for a feed. Ordered the calamari and garlic prawns, both dishes were good bistro fare with a solid amount of chips and salad with the seafood quality up to standard.

Lots of families were in on a busy night but it did feel like the venue was understaffed that night with food waits around the 45 minutes. A few customers were getting a bit angry about the wait times so we hope they were just having a bit of an off night for service.

Food is good. Reasonable atmosphere. Nice place to relax.
They have a pool table if you want a game.

A special place for The Cougar ladies. Great food, great company, always meet people we know, and great service and the raffles too.

The food today was nice but the mature woman serving behind the counter was very rude to several customers, even demanding to see seniors cards when it was quite obvious they were seniors. Not very good people skills at all

Great atmosphere great food great prices very cosy definitely somewhere to go again still as good had the mixed grill as good as ever.all the other meals looked good.

Food has gone down hill unfortunately. Struggled to find the fish between the batter. No real soft drink only coke.

Friendly and helpful staff. Nice peaceful atmosphere.

There is a good variety of dishes served in the bistro (Gunners), including old favourites which aren't offered much any more.
