Altona Miniature Railway reviews
31A fantastic place to take little ones interested in trains. A pleasant surprise and a hidden gem of the west.
A fabulous place to take the family for a fun time as the people running the place are extremely friendly and the train ride is absolutely awesome a must go for everyone
Great fun for the kids. Wait in the line isn’t too bad since they have a few trains running at a time.
Great experience for the whole family, well worth the $4 each for a ticket! We’ll definitely visit again
An amazing adventure with friends what a surprise. Didn't know that it even existed. Great experience for the family. Will be sharing this with my family and friends ️
Nice place to visit with kids. The rides are very reasonably priced and the volunteers are great to chat with. Highly recommended.
A cheap afternoon of fun. Cheap tickets, a few food options, ice cream van onsite and clean (if not limited) toilets on site.
This is absolutely fun, especially for kids. $4 per person for more than 10 mins train routes. Stuff are very friendly and there are food trunks there too.
Open on 3rd Sunday of every month.
4$ per person (adults and kids). Under 12m old is free. Nice ride, 1.5km almost. Wait time is sometimes 45min-1hr otherwise ok.
Best place to bring a kid. The train ride was amazing for a mere $4 ticket. It was so pleasant through the miniature landscape as well that they set up. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
Altona miniature railway runs on the 3rd Sunday of every month. You can park on the street or in the parking lot on the side. There are two main lines when you enter, one for the purchase of tickets and one for the train. We waited approximately 10 mins to purchase tickets. The line for the miniature trains took us approximately 45 mins before we got a chance to ride with our little ones. There are some toilets and shaded picnic bench areas. There was a vendor to the side selling some food or you can bring some along yourself to picnic. Other than the miniature rail, there is not much else to do there for kids. It looks like they are building a playground but not currently open. Otherwise it's a short drive if you want to head to Elephant cafe down the road that has a little courtyard with a play area for the little ones.
Always a fun day out. The train drivers are friendly and enthusiastic. Great for a family day out
Other than a 10min mini train ride there is nothing else to do there. Theres about 4 mini trains running at the same time, so queuing up takes about 10-15min. Would be better if there was a playground there for kids.
Today there were about 5 different trains running. $4 takes you on a nice 10 minute ride around the property, through 3 tunnels, then back to the station.
There are picnic tables and chairs.
A great experience for little ones! Well priced tickets, $4 per person for a ride and children under 12 months free. Also some multi ride deals as well. Don't be put off by a large queue waiting for a ride, the line moves quickly. Plenty of seating for a picnic and some miniature train spotting!
It was nice, kids enjoyed it a lot. Only $3.50 per ride which goes for nearly 10 minutes. It’s better to buy the all day pass for $20 if your kids love trains.
If you and your family love ride-on minature trains you will enjoy going here. Very relaxing, the trains are beautiful and queues (particularly post 1.30pm) are not long. The volunteers run a tight and happy ship/train and it is all very safe. Parking is good. There are food vans and a jumping castle on site too. Lots of picnic tables if you want to bring a picnic. Trains tickets are value for money. All in all a great day out.
This is a well run, seriously managed and technically professional operation. It's not some toy facility. My 2 year old daughter loves Thomas so this was a real hoot for her. There are multiple trains and they seem to go on different routes. In certain days they have cooking outlets and fun things for kids. Not expensive.
Kids love this place. Good activity for juniors. Check schedules before you proceed to this place. It’s not open everyday.
It was nice. Pretty much exactly what you'd expect. It was $3.50 per person and roughly 10 mins on the train. So reasonable value & kids enjoyed themselves. Not really anything else there though, so we just rode the train and left. (There were deals for all day rides too)
