Altona Kebab House

My mother in law recently came to live in Australia from the United States, and we had her try a Halal Snack Pack for the first time. The mixed meat HSP from Altona Kebab House absolutely blew her mind. Even for someone from the USA the portion size is extremely generous. Now she wants one every month!

The traditional kebabs are also excellent, with options like tabbouleh and pickled veg in addition to the classic lettuce, tomato and onion. A particular highlight is the chargrilled lamb shish kebab, which is diced chunks of meat rather than minced kofta. It takes slightly longer to cook but it's well worth the wait.

Great kebabs.shame how they treat uber drivers and orders. We ordered 2 kebabs and smalls chips on way home from newport station. 50 mins later still waiting for the order to be made.if I known it be this bad I would have picked up rather than paying priority delivery that I did not get.
Very poor service tonight. Friday 28th July.

Came in for a very simple order, just a straight forward Kebab. Waited 25mins, when there was only 1 other person in front of me? The food was oily and dry at the same time, the service was slow, rude and basically had no interest in providing support to customers. The guy who was just standing their cutting meat who looks like he hates his life, didn't engage with anyone? I'm actually from Turkey and to see this place is run by "Turks" honestly embarrassing.

Had a kebab here for the first time ordered a mix (chicken and lamb) in Turkish bread and was very nice. Staff are very friendly and service is prompt.

By far the best kebabs going around. It does take a while waiting time, but it's well worth the wait. We'll done guys keep it up.

Unbelieve how long it takes to make a mediocre kebab.

Not only did it take them 20 minutes to shave meat off and wrap a kebab, they are actually lying to their customers.
I witnessed the lady put my wrapped kebab into the grill press for less that 5 seconds to quickly heat up the wrapper to give the illusion of a fresh hot crispy kebab, so when I got it I knew it wasn’t going to be crispy, it was going to be a hot soggy mess, similar to a baby’s diaper.

The meat had a nice taste, it was fresh and warm of the spit and grilled on the flattop but this has to be the only thing worthy of one star, otherwise it would be zero stars.

Just a friendly tip to improve, if you have 4 people making kebabs but only 1 guy cutting meat, maybe balance your resources so you can have a good production line.
They might be good outside of lunch rush but I won’t ever give it another shot, you only have one chance to make an impression and this first one was horrible.

The best kebab I have ever eaten in my life.this is definitely the best kebab place in melbourne. If you have the opportunity, I suggest you go here with your whole family.

I bought the chicken kebab and the bread smelt bad so I ask for another bread and she smelt the bread and denied their was bad smell.then said no bread to give me I been a good customer for many years but I want return after such poor service.very bad attitude from the lady manager very disappointed

Excellent quality food, well priced, good service very good Haygen, in general the place very good for shish kabab lovers.

Got delivery. No option to select onions on the app, so just put a note in and they did a great job adding them.

Consistently the best kebabs in the area! Price goes up and up but that's just the economy! Keep up the quality!

Very bad attitude from the lady manager,
Ordered 2 kebabs and they made mistake adding the chilli sauce in it instead of keeping it on side in container which was my order, drove back home and was surprised that the chilli sauce was in it, we kept it as is without Even tasting it as my brother have a serious allergy with spices, returned back and explained to them and instead of changing it they asked me to pay again, the kebab was still wrapped and not touched but they didn’t accept it.
A question, Why would I drive 2 times come from Brooklyn to Altona north if it was the correct order?
We used to come weekly with the family and recommend this place to our friends but because of this non professionalism and manners we will never buy from this place again.
Be happy with that 12$ extra you did from me toddy’s unfairly and all I can say what a big shame for such management!
You could’ve just change the kebab which will not causes you more than 2/3$!

For single kebab told me to come 10 m but waited other 10m also charged me extra 2 $ Not recommended

We were served by a lovely young lady that suggested that we try the kebab on their home baked Turkish bread.
OMG, Just got home and ate our kebab.
1st, what a meal. It was stuffed to the brim and now so are we.
2nd, fresh, delicious, tasty food.
3rd, wonderful, courteous service.
4th, beyond value for money.
5th, highly recommended, and will be passing it on personally to our friends.

Horrible! Card fee is not paid by the customer, they charge this fee to the customers. I can understand that anyway for small orders but absolutely not for fairly big orders. Amount that a shop pay for a POS transaction to the bank is 0.5 to 1 %. I got chaged around 2%. I do not support those kind of business owners.

Best kebab shop in town! The food is very consistent and more importantly the customer service is excellent. Highly recomended!

Gave it to the wrong person he then bring it back asked for a new one due to other customer already leaving and was refused

Good Gozleme, good service. Partner for a kebab and said it was delicious! We did have to wait a little while but that was only because they were so busy.

Wow wee, what a kebab! Don't know if it was just because I was starving but up there with best I've had anywhere. Tasty quality meat, nice balanced amount of salad and the chilli sauce was spot on.
