Terrible service and dry cleaning. Firstly was lied to that a mark wouldn’t come out, i assume the owner went to remove it and was successfully removed. At this point to be charged $18.50 for a blazer, then lied to, then accused of working at the council? Which I definitely do not work at the council, I have no other choice to leave this review. DO NOT RECOMMEND. AVOID. RUDE.

I always got my items cleaned at Altona Dry Cleaners. They've always been friendly and helpful. I have trusted these cleaners in cleaning historical Edwardian items dates 1913, and have done wonderful jobs. As I knew and trusted them, and as they have cleaned my tails before, I took my white tie tails to be cleaned for an up coming event; but when I got the back the silk lining had come off the lapels and inner jacket.
I wear white tie often and owned this particular jacket for 15 years; I have had these cleaned before at this cleaner, and different cleaners with no issue.
The damage was really noticeable while it was still in the bag, so I went back to see if I could get help for their accident; but there was no remorse or apology, claiming that was how the jacket came to them. I stated I tried the jacket on the night before I gave it to them to make sure it still fit and everything was fine.
I have three days to get this jacket repaired with no offer of help from them. I handed them the jacket to clean ten days before I needed it to make sure there was time.
I am angry, as I would have had time to fix it with a simple phone call early on saying: "I'm sorry, but the stitching has come undone. Would you like us to fix it, or collect it now so you can take it somewhere to be fixed".
The rudeness of them palming off any responsibility, and washing their hands with it was jaw dropping. No matter how many photos I showed them of me wearing it last week the owner claimed that was how the jacket came to them, and that is what happens when you get these from op shops (dispite me having photos of me wearing it 15 years go), he was most dogmatic.
I don't care about a refund, I don't care about having to pay to get it fixed, I'm just disgusted and disappointed in Altona Dry Cleaners leaving me high and dry right before an event.
I can sew; I am altering the jackets pants but hand. I own and look after historical times of clothing - meaning I do garment conservation work and repairs. I can assure anyone that jacket was showing no signs of age on the stitching.
If I had time I would would just boycott the cleaners and fix the jacket, but due to work, the event being it grew days, having to have sew the edge of the collar, while still sewing the pants, I can not get it done in time.
Thank you Altona Dry Cleaners, for ruining my tailcoat, and your "amazing customer service".

Extremely unprofessional, inappropriate and an aggressive owner. Discusting old bogan calling me a girl. Awful attitude, clearly fed up with life and has some serious issues. Feeling extremely bad for the people who have to deal with this kind of person on a regular basis. Also sorry for the younger lady who works there, can only imagine what a toxic employer this person would be…

So rude and condescending for no reason at all. Feeling sorry for him, must be awful to live with an attitude like that - hope you’ll be nicer to yourself and others one day.

On top of it all - nothing wrong with the dry cleaning. But for obvious reasons would not go back or recommend any decent person to go here.

I noticed one of my jackets was not cleaned at all.
Was charged full price for dry cleaning the jacket and when I tried to resolve the issue with the old gentleman he was rude and said "that's what I do" takes your money and does not give you the service you paid for.
Disappointing.

Frank is brilliant at what he does. Has been there for such a long time. Most grateful for the way he looked after my precious items. Highly recommend

Avoid avoid avoid. Warning. Do not go to this dry cleaner. Got my suit dry cleaned night before my wedding. Put on my suit the afternoon of my wedding day and saw that my blazer was ripped on the side of the sleeves. They didn’t even notify me that when dry cleaned it, It was ruined. They could of easily fixed this since they would’ve seen when they ironed my suit, that it was damaged. Could of had staff to easily alter and fix this, but they chose to ignore and hand it back damaged. Absolute horrendous experience ever! Avoid at all costs!

Did a wonderful job on my uniformed shirts so I could return them in great condition. Very friendly too, I thought at first when given the 2 days was long but looking around at how many clothes they had going on it made complete sense!

Called up to ask for price range, got told off that price cannot be provided over the phone and will need to go in store for price. What century are we in now? No transparency? Sounds very dodgy to me!

Have been using since moving to the area. Have been able to remove every stain from every garment I've brought in without any issues and their trouser pressing has been quite good. The use of siloxane as the dry cleaning solvent means they can take items that can't be cleaned with perc, which is super handy.

I was charged more than quoted for one item but it was very badly stained, and they managed to make the jacket look good as new, so I assume it just took more time to clean and I was happy to pay the difference without question.

Great and Friendly Staff. Good value and service and always smiling. Drive through concept is also a good option for social distancing. On time service as well. I am happy with the service provided. You can see the result in pictures. Well done guys. Really happy with your service.

This is a first drive through drycleaners I have seen in my life, suits the scenario of "social distancing" nowadays
