Alfred Motor Inn reviews
19 It’s evident that the owners here work very hard to provide a comfortable stay - the customer service was excellent. The rooms are older, but comfortable and clean. They’re well appointed for a motel room with a microwave, toaster, mini fridge, and plates & cutlery. The location is good, and while it’s adjacent to a major road it’s still quiet inside.
Additionally (and a big bonus) the free WIFI is the fastest internet I’ve ever come across in any accommodation anywhere. The pool was also a welcome addition on a hot day.
To myself, hospitality is everything! The customer service from the staff at the Alfred was exceptional. The people running the facility clearly work extremely hard to facilate a comfortable and pleasent stay. In this day and age where greedy corporations like the supermarkets are doing away with customer service, you can still find quality service at complexes like this. I win stay at the Alfred every time I visit the area TY
Well it is not the Ritz but the pre-arrival service, the service when we arrived made the stay very easy.
Rooms were good, everything we needed for a 4 day stay. The Motor Inn was just a place to freshen up and crash. It did, thank you for a great stay.
Dated but surprisingly well equipped. Lovely and quiet at night and not too far into town for shops and restaurants
0 stars from me. Heaters didn't work but most concerning part was they had visible rat bait half chewed next to the fridge, fully accessible to my 3 year old child. Asking if it was candy. After bringing this up to the man on duty he said little to nothing.
Room was not cleaned properly. Will never be back here again!
Also fire extinguishers are currently 4 years out of date!
Stayed a week or so ago, heaters didn't work. Really poor shower pressure.
Prices changed after calling back a second time.
Definitely will not be back. Nor would I recommend for friends and family.
Room was generally OK, clean and comfortable, but one of the dodgiest soap holders I have ever seen in a motel was in the shower recess. Original ceramic holder had been broken, so a glass dish in a rather shakey holder has been screwed to the tiles above it. I kept worrying that if I knocked it the glass dish would fall out and shatter on the shower recess floor. Unfortunately this is the memory I will take away from this stay
Unfortunately we have been made homeless and were booked into this motel by a charity.
We found the owners helpful and although we weren't able to have our pet here, we were able to set our xbox up and it is close to a couple of restaurants and near a shopping centre
It was a nice little hotel, decor from the 70's lol but was clean and warm.
The bed was comfortable and the water pressure in the shower was AMAZING.
However they could do with employing a gardener, the place did look a little second hand from the outside.
The only real negative I had was the fact that they debited my credit card 4 hours before we checked in!
Overall a good experience and it was a very reasonable price even in peak Christmas season
The Alfred is the kind of roadside Motel that my parents took me too when I was a kid. The large marble laminex bench, the white painted bricks with a mixture of 60s, 70, s and 80s furniture. This aside, Everything worked well including a cold split system air conditioner, a modern big screen TV screen.
The beds were quite comfortable and reassuringly clean.
All coffee, tea and sugar were supplied as well as " hospital style biscuits " you'll need to drive i to the Ballarat CBD if you want a decent feed.
The pool was relatively clean and great for kids. Although the grounds lacked upkeep.
My only gripe was the Internet was weak which is an important thing if you needed to log into work or let the kids watch their cartoons.
Overall, Its a good place to stay.
Very clean and tidy rooms. Friendly owners. Haven't been here for many years. Very pleased to the owners have maintained the previous standards. Big TV, microwave, sofa shower with wand. Very comfortable at a reasonable price.
Clean and comfortable, nice host - but my hot water turned off after 5 minutes in the shower, was not happy about that so just check if they are having any issues with the hot water if you stay here! I thought they may have used a timer, but our host said no they did not. Apart from that very happy!
Clean and tidy simple low priced rooms with all the basics. Breakfast available through traditional servery door at front of room. Well located within 10 minutes of Sovereign Hill Recommended.
FRIENDLY MAN AT RECEPTION NICE AND QUIET OLDER STYLE ROOM BUT CLEAN AND COMFORTABLE YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR GOOD SHOWER BED COMFORTABLE WE STAYED ONE NIGHT IT WAS FINE IF UP THIS WAY AGAIN WOULD STAY
The basics. Cheap motel. Older amenities, 50s to 60s style old motor inn. Beds comfy and clean. Bathroom clean. Free wifi. 5 mins into town. Good option on a budget. Friendly owner greeted us and offered assistance if needed.
Nice room, good service but needed proper cleaning. Found items belonging to previous guests under beds, including a milky baby bottle.
Good, clean and quite affordable. Rooms were large enough for 5 and was close enough to attractions around Ballarat.
Clean, comfortable, good size room & amenities including microwave & electric blanket, great rate, good cheap breakfast. Friendly helpful manager. Excellent value all round
