Have stayed here for years because of the location. Starting to get a bit tired but still great value.

Great friendly service. Early check in and late check out. Close to the cbd. Shopping centre and cafes near by. Comfy beds. Hot water. What more could you ask for. Very Happy

Had a microwave and toaster in room but now cutlery, so had to butter my toast with credit card

This is a great place to stay. In a great location. Lots of rooms, lovely mgr. Comfy bed, clean, close to tram and restaurants and shopping.

The bathroom is well lit and the room was clean, but basic. Wi-Fi was included in the price but we didn't use it. There was no complimentary continental breakfast as suggested by Agoda, the site we used to book.

Great place to stay and catch Public transport to the tennis Aus Open which only took 20 minutes. We could safely leave our car parked for free, staff were helpful with local knowledge. It is an older retro motel, clean with kettle, toaster and fridge. Cheap compared to staying in the city and paying for parking. This will be our go to when visiting Melbourne.

Not sure why it's rated so low. It is what it is, a cheap place for a stopover, not a place where you base a relaxing holiday! Clean rooms and facilities. What more can you ask for?

Booked here for 2 nights. Upon arrival room had not been cleaned properly. Dirt on the table top and floor
Fridge smelt bad
Had long life milk in the fridge that looked like it had been there for months and was filthy
Went to turn in the tap and the attachment fell off, when we went to ask them to fix it their response was well we are just about to close the office, appeared we were putting them out.
Bad attitude all round. Needs a course in customer service. They couldn’t care less

Free parking on site and close to airport good place to stay over night for a reasonable price.a little noise from the terrafic outside.overall good experience.easy check in and check out.

Great location for public transport, quiet little motel.
Check in was super easy & we walked into a nice warm room! Stayed for a couple of nights, then Melbourne cold nights hit us so we ended up checking out early as we got sick. Owner was SUPER friendly and understanding.
Will be back in September to continue our stay & we can’t wait.

Really bad experience, room was fine but no customer service. Told the guy that we gonna leave the room at 12 pm and he was fine with it and on check out day no knocking on door, me and my partner was getting ready and just straight open the door. Luckily we put the chain in so he can’t open the door. I will not recommend this hotel to anyone who love their privacy.

Went to visit my brotherinlaw
while he was in town, boy it wasn't fit for humans, couldn't swing a cat In the room, awful, would not stay there if you gave me money.

It's 3* but comfortable. Road noise is there but I'm a light sleeper. Shower head was a firehouse - I'm sure there are still subsidies for installing water-saving heads. I'd stay again if needed.

Enjoyed the stay here, clean and tidy, Covid Safe, excellent procedures in line for a covid safe stay, friendly staff, close walking distances to local shops & restaurants, with a tram stop across the road an the train station a 5 minutes walk away.

Room was a little small but good for the price. Very clean and beds were comfortable. Only thing needed was a little bit more light in the room.
Staff were friendly.
Easy check in and out.

A WARNING to all single female travellers. Do NOT go to this motel! At 10.30pm the night I arrived, the manager tried to gain entry to my room. He did not knock or call out, the key was put into the lock and the door opened. Thankfully I had put the chain on the door so he could not get any further and made the extremely pathetic excuse of asking me whether he had left his phone in the room. I have never had an experience like this even in a 3rd world country. STAY AWAY!

Very clean and comfortable room. Manager was very friendly and helpful. Great location. Highly recommend.

And there's some great restaurants just down the road

I recently stayed at Alexander for four comfortable nights.

The location is great with the tram to the City almost out the front of the motel. I discovered some great nearby cafes for breakfast and coffee. The Royal Hotel is also nearby.

Nigel, the manager, was very helpful and obliging.

Being such great value for money, I would happily stay there during my next visit to Melbourne.
