ALDI Ferntree Gully reviews
57This Aldi could use more organisation skills in stocking shelves, especially the limited edition stocks, bit of a mess. Other than that, friendly staff and overall great service!
One of the bigger ALDI stores I have been inside & that translates into more variety on the shelves. Like any ALDI, half is the regular things you know & the other half is dependent on pot luck with what is on sale.
You've been to one ALDI, you've been to all.
Maybe except for the special buys and clearance sections which can be like the lottery at times.
Aldi is good store if you compare some of the grocery items available from other similar type of stores. Some of the items are at par like full cream milk, buttermilk. All type of eggs and breads are cheaper. Of course you would have limited brand choice. The drawback is there is no fast lane or self check out.and I don't understand the logic behind closing one checkout counter and opening onther one when the same operator could serve the waiting customer. The thing which I dislike is the quality of receipt they give Poor quality fades in days so very difficult to preserve in case of return exchange refund
Awesome supermarket and alot of history behind the location majority of it good and some not so good here. The best was the famous "The Swagman Restaurant" which was built in 1972 and sadly burnt down in 1991 due to an arson attack via the 1991 economic recession. Became a ill-fated night club called the " Stylus" which had some bad things that happened as well. Now it's an ALDI which is great but I also feel that loss of The Swagman Restaurant that was once there has robbed future generations of a unique experience (including myself) but it might not of survived, the concept anyhow sigh.
Aldi is like an oversized convenience store with keen low pricing on essential items and also has browsing for a variety of household needs.
Easy to get a car park. Love the fact that Aldi now has some baskets for customers to use. I was only getting a couple of items. When I first entered, they only had 2 check outs open, but as customers started lining up to pay, the staff opened a couple more check outs, which was great. Friendly staff
Grocery shopping still best bang for your buck as they say, as well purchased pressure washer excellent value. Beats hands down other majors for overall price comparison. Highly recommend.
Search function needed please. Canned cat food out of stock in every store for weeks. We would like to search availability please!
Love the supermarket. Cheap prices. But I think they need to do more to reduce plastic packaging of fresh produce. Like the mushrooms are always wrapped in excess plastic. At least and Woolworths you can buy it loose in a paper bag. Aldi please consider the environment more!
Aldi: if you want an item in stock, you'll find quality & good price. Other items, you're out of luck.
Do try the 1l "kapiti" ice-cream from New Zealand, when available.
Fantastic experience @ Aldi Ferntree Gully with Snow Gear, had no problems exchanging incorrect size, best prices for snow gear thanks guys
Great prices however many items out of stock. To be fair we experienced the same with other retailers
Well what can I say good produce and very clean nothing blocking the isles and we all know its price dricen
I steered clear of Aldi for a long time after they first opened in Australia apart from occasionally looking at their Special Buys in the middle aisles of the store and even buying the odd item from time to time. Then a few years ago after a few friends and relatives told me that they'd had positive experiences with food items from Aldi I thought I'd give some a try. I was pleasantly surprised by many of their 'instant' type meals in particular, and also by many basic grocery stables. I would suggest giving them a go I'm fairly sure you'll find some items that will be a pleasant surprose
There are always some great specials. Plenty of parking. Don't forget a coin for the trolley though.
Used to have a nice feel about it until they moved the buskers away, now just dosn, t feel as welcoming
ALDI has some great things, and some great bargains, their weekly specials is good to keep an eye on.
Staff brilliant and super friendly
too many people in store was only downside - but its panic buying so hard to control
Very slow at the checkouts. I've never seen queues as long as there were today with only 3 checkouts of the 6 open. Needs to improve!
