Al Karim's Indian Restaurant reviews
35A hidden gem close to the heart of moonee ponds shopping centre, this is a simple but elegant & cosy setting for an excellent dinner or lunch consisting of traditional Indian/Pakistani food.
Amazing flavours and lovely service! If you're down for a little spice, I highly recommend the Chilli chicken fry, otherwise all the classics are incredible!
Very testy food with good service.
Would have been given 5 star if quantity is little bit OK. Most of the dishes quantity are little lower compare to price but taste overcome this issue.
Loved the vibe, Great service and amazing authentic flavours. Get the samosas and chicken 65
First time here and food was so tasty and freshly cooked had Naan, Butter Chicken, Beef Korma, Rice 10/10
Always have a great time at this amazing restaurant. Wonderful food and atmosphere, I would recommend the fish curry and garlic naan.absolutely fantastic. A great place for friends and family of all sizes. Will be coming back for sure!
5 star Northern Indian food, absolutely outstanding flavours, tenderness of the chicken in both the spicy chicken and butter chicken curry, and the fish curry was beautiful.
Also, BEST ROTI AND GARLIC ROTI I HAVE EVER HAD, COULD NOT STOP EATING IT!
Great staff, atmosphere, fair prices for that sort of high wuality Indian, and I will be going back regularly!
Very nice Indian food recommended by my Indian friends. It changed my mind completely about this cousin. They have non spicy and mild for the not so fond of chili people. I'm keen to come back to this place.
Fantastic service and even better food! So incredible we’ve come back twice in one week. Highly recommend
Amazing food and friendly service, this place was an exciting find. We ordered from the main menu and the vegan menu (they have a seperate menu for vegan options and there are so many tasty choices!) and we left feeling full and happy.
Delicious indian food, generous portions and friendly hospitality. What more do you need? ! We loved it - their mutton biryani was very flavourful and the keema naan fluffy and delicious. Definitely recommend!
Ordered two chicken Biryanis through Uber Eats on a Sunday night.
The food arrived almost too quickly and was a little flavourless, with a metallic aftertaste - certainly not what we were expecting.
Not too sure why this has occurred as the restaurant has received plenty of good reviews - if they were pressed for time it would have been in better judgement to cancel our order instead of providing a sub par meal in a rush.
Customer expectation was not met on this occasion, and we would not recommend, based on our experience.
Best Indian we've had in ages! Al Karim's is tucked away off the main street so if we hadn't been looking for it, would never have stumbled on it. We had the vegan dhal, samosas, onion bahji, rice and garlic naan.it was just WOW. The dahl was incredible (we were trying to eat it slow but it was too good), the naan was next level good and the samosas were HUGE (and delicious). Big shout out to the staff who were really lovely and attentive - thank you so much and we'll definately be seeing you again soon:)
Have been going to Al Karim for years and it still impresses me each time. Last weekend especially, we got some to take home and the chicken korma and goat curry were to die for.
The staff are always so polite and accommodating.
Always love going here to know I'm supporting a well deserving family.
Al Karim for the win. This place never disappoints. Best veg samosa around and the curries always have a lovely depth of flavour and the meat is always cooked perfectly.

This unassuming little gem. Probably the best North Indian food in the area. The vegan options are unbeatable.
Some beatiful pieces of art to explore while you wait for your food. You dont find places like these any more.
An authentic Indian restaurant located in a small side street off Puckle st. Blink and you’ll miss it!
Don’t let the looks from the outside fool you. Al Karims is a guaranteed good feed, offering both takeaway and dine in options!
Highlights: Super friendly service, was greeted with a warm welcome and felt like we were sitting at their family dinner table. Samosas we’re lit The beef korma was phenomenal, I want to fill my 1liter water bottle up with this curry and drink it throughout the day.
Negatives: The vindaloo was lacking a bit of fire power (we requested it hot). A couple of the other dishes were missing a touch of flavour to really wow me.
Overall, Al Karims is a solid Indian restaurant with a great atmosphere and authentic meals. Is it my favourite indian restaurant? No. Did it knock my socks off? Socks did not come off my feet. However, I definitely recommend checking it out if you’re in the area looking for a casual spot to dine out or if you live in the area and are craving Indian takeaway.
Cosy restaurant with amazing food. Service was great and beautiful decor. Will definitely be back again soon. A hidden gem!
Thanks,
Chris
