"Toyota earn from selling parts" thats the statement of one of my friend who work in Toyota office in Melbourne.

Since I bought this vehicle it got serviced initially by Toyota Coburg and for last 1.5 years from Essendon Toyota.

It has all its required services.last service was around 3 months ago. Car has run just over 130,000.
Recently all of sudden i started hearing metal sound while revercing and turning at same time. Then it started coming on forward drive at low speed. I took it to Toyota.

First issue it was booked at 0900 AM. Although worked till late in clnic and slept late but I woke up to took it to Toyota Essendon.
Afterwards, from mid day till 0520 I called 4 times to know about update but each time I was told Micheal is not reachhable. It was unprofessional that a person responsible updated me all day.

Next day I called again just before midday. The reception staff again put me on hold and later said same thing that Micheal is not reachable. When I complaint about this unprofessionalism and poor service delivery, then I was put through to Andrew. He said miceal is not in so he is taking care of his work. When asked about th issue I was told that the sound is coming from front differential. But not sure why. So it needs to be opned up, dismentled and te cost: folowing is quote:
"engine requires removal for differential removal-quote is to strip, dismantle & report only. " $1,760.00

(hear I am doubful whay so much cost.my vehicle engine is fine and having no sound. They can remove the gear box cover to at least look which part is causing problem. And being Toyota expert its strange that they can not diagnose from which part sound is coming, when as doctors we can hear from heart sounds which heart valve is leaking, although we do Echo to further investigate).

So when I asked what would be the cost to repair, he was all vague, not sure will need to see whats happening inside.

Then I argued that it got serviced all te time by Toyota, than why it happened as it just ran 130 plus K.e argued that depends how its been used. I explained my wife use it as family car.

He continue to casually respond and expalined me that as its out of waranty i need to pay for the cost.

The issue is if it has been properly serviced than how it would have such fault at 130 plus K, when just used as female operated family car.

I asked him whether its service was done properly by Toyota essendon last 3 times. And whether the trasmission /gear oil was changed. He casulaly said yes it was done as per book.

Then when I said that i would like to get it checked somewere else. He really casully quoted me 170 plus for inbspection. What has been done " Nothing".

Its when I remebered my friends statement "Toyota Earn from Parts".

I have serious doubts that my vehicle gear/transmission oil was ever changed. Although being charged, not replacing gear /transmission oil would have caused the trouble. And specailly when a vehicle is out of waranty period, its when Toyota would earn from serive /labour and parts.
And this seems to be problem getting it serviced by Toyota after waranty period. If i would have it servided from somewhere else, th incentive to sell parts would not have caused this issue.

I would doubt whather something would have been done intentially last time, so as this issue occured just within 3 months of last service.

Now that Toyota dealer want 1700 plus for labour and once opened my rip me off thousnads. Tis is how Toyota earn.

I have serious doubts about whether the gear oil was ever changed by Toyota dealers during serice.

Be careful.

Rubbish service bunch of liars specially yousif and the manager Daniel they play with contract been waiting on my rav 4 7 months now they saying another 17 to 18 months its like the car is coming from moon (what a fall) and if you complain to manager (daniel hes even worse and lies more. I REALLY DONT RECOMMEND ANYONE TO GOT TO THEM

Another dishonest establishment trying to charge me $88 for a air conditioner system clean because they said the drain was blocked. Even if the drain is blocked that is part of a service and should be cleaned and incorporated into the service price. Pathetic

Worst Service Department. Don't return calls
didn't complete the job accurately. Would have cost me a further $1700 if i acted on their unnecessary advice. I suggest finding another Toyota Branch for your service needs.

No wonder this is one of the lower scored Toyota dealerships. I can easily compare, as I went to Camberwell Toyota, just before.

I had a sales appointment with Ron. Drove all the way through congestion and back - definitely not worth it.

The minute he said to me that the test drive will not push through because it was raining (Camberwell did a test without hesitation) and dismissed it and said it will drive the same, was a tell-tale sign of how the conversation will be. No 2 cars are alike and this had more kms to it. He then, to his credit, went on to show me the car and the interior and said I was allowed to have a look. He was obviously lazy and was only interested in trying to sell the car without really making me feel welcome. He was also trying to convince me that I will not get a better deal if I sell my car privately and went on to say that trade-in values are lesser but not because it's about business or dealerships need to make money. He then tried to have a small debate and said to me that I will not have any luck trying to sell my car at the price I had in mind (privately) without even seeing th car. He even went on to question how fast I sold my previous cars, wanting to seem like the false expert that he is. What a Joke!

I also asked him a question about the DPF switch and he just gave me the runaround answer that made him look more incompetent and arrogant.

This supposed sales consultant needs to go through some thorough retraining before he is put on the floor. He obviously has not people skills and seems to be just after the sale without doing his job properly.

Taking my business elsewhere. Sorry, AIRPORT TOYOTA. Ron destroyed your chances with me.

Second visit, the day after we got our car back from toyota for 2 recalls and a service. So after we got the car back it broke down the next day. Sam the unhelpful service tech said he wanted to runs a few tests and inspect a few things, my husband insisted it was a valve but sam wasn't interested he was adamant he needed to do all sorts of other things. We left our car and drive away in a replacement but called sam back and said dont touch the car we will collect it tomorrow. As we didnt want another huge bill and my husband knew what the issue was.
On collection of our car sam advised all the useless tests and inspections he actioned returned nothing and only to then say it was the $92 valve my husband said it was.
And sam was insistent we had to pay another $1000 for works he did that we asked him not to do.
We Paid the money as we need our car only to find the car runs even more rough and the brakes shudder even after being bleed on both visits.
The invoice states he was not able to complete the repair. Sam then advised he cant make this second bill any cheaper because we left a poor review for the service and two recalls he did only a few days earlier.
So $7k out of pocket and a car running so rough and brakes that seem to shudder was all we got from airport Toyota. More issues that didn't need tampering with and what needed repairs not repaired.
This $7k could. Have been a deposit on a new car, instead we got out car back with more issues then when we took it in.
I am following up with toyota customer service head office and will also be contacting ACCC to lodge a complaint and any other governing agency that may be able to help. We also had a mechanic drive past us and scream “why the f%#k are you parking there” when we parked in a spot another technician pointed to us to park in.
Will never use airport toyota for anything, rude staff and the premises is filthy with papers and rubbish everywhere. How can they look after cars if there own centre is a mess,
Extremely disappointed and thinking of buying a different brand of cars in thw future.
Toyota you have lost customers that have been always chosen toyota but will steer very far moving forward.

Took Hilux for 2 recalls and they needed car overnight, so I arranged them do front timing belt, water pump, air pump full service, adjust brakes and fix ABS, took 5 days and I paid $179ph for the labour the total price I paid was just under $6k. Got the car back and in the way home the brakes seemed spongy, and having power issues. Then the next day the car fails to start for unknown reason multi-metered the battery and it returned 13.1v a good reading, Checked all fuses and good, hence I followed through with a jumpstart continued on then later that evening, while running the car it just died and left me stranded left in 7/11 over night with all my tools inside. I looked under the bonnet and noticed 2 rags fluttering just under the timing belt, the air filter not clipped back on, and the the oil filter was also not changed. I Called airport toyota and they met me at the 7/11 in the morning. A service tech told me he broke down while driving it back to the shop. After they inspected it I was told the car had a lose earth, I check this regularly and find it highly unlikely. I’m going charged again but this has not been finalised as yet so I don’t know what it’ll be this time.
I found airport Toyota to be unprofessional with zero quality control and works discussed not carried out or very poor workman ship.
Should have repaired myself and saved $4k and not had the dramas of break downs and behind schedule with work as I am without my car and tools

The team at this Toyota dealer is awesome. Just purchased our 3rd Kluger through Yusuf which I have to say his service was outstanding.
Also, took in my Hilux for the DPF issue and the experience from making the appointment to dropping it off today was excellent. Greeted with a smile from start to finish.

Staff service are very inattentive to customers, I waited 6 hours for the repair, but they did not touch my car, The customer's time is not important to them, I never back to here.
