Had the meat platter and it was lovely though the oysters were very average. Problem was the attitude of what I believe to be the manager.
Phone call made to book and within 20 seconds he stated "Do you want the table or not? "

3 female waitresses were good and so was the food. (we had the meat platter) As we go to pay the there was an issue with the EFTPOS machine owner pops his head around the corner of the stairs and yells out.
"There's customers waiting"
You could tell how anxious they were and we told them it's OK.
So besides the lovely meal I want to point out to that gentleman Be nice, kind and polite or get out of the service industry.

You will be greeted by a rude gentleman when you walk through the doors, he’ll treat you as if you’ve walked into the wrong shop, how dare you enter his establishment.

$60 for dips and bread for the table, both of which were very average at best, don’t recommend.

We ordered the open plate mixed grill which comes with chips, the waiters never brought the chips, I had to enquire twice as to where and when they’ll arrive. They finally came - once I had finished my meal.

$8.50 for a tiny piece of cake for dessert.

There are so many Greek restaurants nearby, i won’t be coming back to this one.

Five friends and I arrived at different times but all mentioned how strange it was that no one greets you and then when you wander around looking for your table, some older bloke rudely comes up to you and asks "what are ya doing? ". Despite the odd beginning, we all thought the food was great. I had the grilled rib eye and it was delicious. Atmosphere is nice upstairs, not quite as cosy as downstairs but still lovely.

Best dining experience I have had in Melbourne. The food tasted amazing! The service was efficient and personable. Seperate gluten-free fryer, I ate most things on the menu with no reaction, safe for coeliac.

Of the Greek restaurants I've been to, this wasn't among the best. The brick aesthetic of the restaurant is lovely and the food was decent, especially the lamb chops. The oysters lacked flavour. But the service was hit and miss.

Four of us ordered the banquet for $80 except one was vegetarian. The server said the vegetarian would be cheaper and they would bring vine leaves. Except no vine leaves came and the vegetarian paid the same as the meat eaters.

The portions were also odd - a massive tray of meat and another tray of seafood, but a very small plate of chips and one medium salad for four people. It just seemed imbalanced. My thoughts would be to either have a meat or seafood tray, and a few side dishes to give it the full 'meze' experience you usually get at Greek restaurants. Overall, not terrible, not the best.

The food and atmosphere was great, we were well looked after and food was cooked well. The only criticism we had that there was so much garlic in the dips - we love garlic, but it was sooo much! None the less - we ate well and left happy!

What a wonderful experience, Claire was an amazing host, made us feel like were old friends, food was absolutely perfect.

Tried this restaurant after being recommended by a friend and was disappointed. The service was very poor, our waitress forgot some of our order and never apologised for the mistake. When we wanted a drink we had to wave somebody down, there were not proactive and checking in on us even though it was a quiet night. The food wasn’t terrible but it also wasn’t great. Some items were over cooked or very small serving sizes. Overall, I wouldn’t rush back nor recommend to any of my friends or family.

Fantastic and authentic Greek restaurant in a Melbourne. The food is brilliant and always well prepared. The owner is very friendly and great to chat with. I go to this restaurant regularly and it never fails to impress! Great location for a dinner on the way to concerts and sports matches in Melbourne, or for a nice dinner evening! Also a nice selection of wine, beer and non alcoholic drinks.

It was the first time attending here. The choice was done with out having seen a review. It turns out the food was so yummy.the service was just the best and the place though a little small was very comfy. Thanks!

We booked online 2 weeks ago. We arrived at our starting time to be told the place didn’t have our booking and they couldn’t fit us in.
Looking at the reviews it sounds like it’s a common occurrence!
We ended up going to Salona next door that managed to fit us in (10 people!) and had amazing food and service. Do yourself a favour and book Salona instead!

Good Greek food. Owner is a character, staff are attentive. Dips were nice. My husband had the very generous meat platter, I had the beautiful king prawns and scallops. Love this place. Just wish they did Greek lemon potatoes.

Quite disappointing service and greeted appallingly. We booked a table and got a confirmation email and showed up right on time, just to be told the booking system was not CORRECT? ! Although clearly the restaurants fault, we did not get an apology, nor were we offered a solution, just told to come back another time. As regular customers who were looking forward to a beautiful meal with guests travelling interstate, we were greeted with disrespect. Not sure how we can trust their booking system again and come back.

An excellent restaurant, quite small but cosy. Excellent service from all staff and the food was excellent. Highly recommend

Excellent food and service. Parking is a nightmare, but if you give yourself a little extra time, then it's OK, and very, very much worth it.

Best Greek food in Melbourne. Probably Australia! Being a Richmond kid I've been coming here for 40 years and it's perfection every single time. Literally cannot fault anything about it. Killing it, Tim! Xx

Have they changed ownership? My friends and I have been attending Agapi for over 20 years and have always had the best time there! This time, sadly, it was awful. We ordered gluten free pita and when it arrived, we tasted it and then asked the waiter if we could have the normal pita. This must have angered him, because the attitude, eye rolling and complete contempt he demonstrated for the rest of the night was awful. He made us feel so uncomfortable that we ended up leaving after entrees and going to another restaurant a few doors down.

We ordered dips for 4 people. We got what could be generously described as a tablespoon portion of 3 dips. For 4 people!

Overall, it was a super disappointing experience.
We attended on Tuesday 20th December

Had one waitress, who still managed to get it all done without any mistakes and with no problem even though it was very busy.
