Afghan Master Kebab reviews
59This was one of my most favourite places until today. They have changed the menu and become super expensive. Today, the kebabs were bone dry. The bread was gluey. I have to start looking for another place now.
Edit from 2021: The restaurant recently upgraded their restaurant, however the food had downgraded, as instead of the usual large and fluffy bread served, turkish bread with sesame seeds was served, as well as the chicken not being prepared the way it used to be. I believe that the old food was better.
These guys make the best charcoal chicken in melbourne, so much better than the overrated el jannah
Their freshly made breads and flavoured rice is also delicious.
Good food, consistent and authentic taste. Sometimes the staff can be a bit grumpy, but the food makes up for it.
Food was really good but the customer service is absolutely terrible. Rude and awkward staff
The food is absolutely delicious. We ate lunch and then went back after we finished our shopping to get some takeaway for the following day. Reheated food tasted delicious aswell. Highly recommend!
Amazing food. Like a cross between Lebanese and Indian. Curry type dishes and delicious falafel (which I think is based on lentils and really soft but crispy). Heaps of delicious fresh bread. Great sauces. Amazing food.
Food taste good but it doesnt make up for the rude staff which. I wont be visiting this resturant ever!
I would leave zero star if I could I just don’t know how rude they are specially customer service is so awkward and I would never go there again!
Food is great and good value for money. However, found the chicken was quite spicy for the kids to eat. They were left only eating the nuggets, rice and chips. But for us adults, it was yummy and quite a filling. The chicken and rice dish can eaily be shared between two people. Briyani was flavourful.
Service is great. But just be mindful, if you want to take left overs home, its 1 free container and a cost for any additional containers needed.
Loved the okra dish possibly the best I've had in Melbourne! Generous servings of Afghan bread served with meals. Chicken biryani was tasty, as was the chicken curry and kebabs. Friendly staff always willing to accommodate. One of the few restaurants that did not charge a surcharge for operating on a public holiday, very impressed. Been back four times, will be a regular for myself and my family. Lovely spacious, bright, Afghan themed dining area. Takeaway available as well.
Great food variety and yummy food. Usually very busy so make sure to call and make a booking.
Unique version of kebab with a great smoke flavour - good ratio of meat to salad, nice family feel to the restaurant.
Staff and service is pathetic you feel like as if you eating for free there food is absolutely great but i will give them 0/10 for service and by the way this would be the only restaurant in the world where they dont habe serving plates unbelievable
We received incorrect order so we notified the staff that we didn't order it upon which the chef came in marching stating he heard us ordering what was served. To diffuse the situation we ended up paying for everything.
Extremely rude staff and lacks hospitality attitude for the business.
We're sharing this kebab platter for two.
Fresh made roti and it tastes so good with the dipping sauce.
The order was served pretty fast after payment.
Will come back next time to try something else.
The food here was delicious and portions were great. We had the mix skewers with salad, the mantu (dumplings) and chicken korma with rice and salad. The skewers were the highlight, especially the chicken was extremely tender and juicy. Another highlight were the dumplings, it was my first time trying these and they were so good. The only complaint I would have is that the chicken in the chicken korma was pretty dry, however the flavour of the sauce was good. The breads are also huge and everything is freshly made. Overall a great experience and I would recommend
Food was fantastic. Very big portion sizes. Cheap to eat. Friendly staff. Can be a bit loud when full of patrons. Clean and all around a very nice place to eat.
Ordered mixed kebab plate for around $22, said it comes with dip. They only had garlic or chilli which are sauces, not dips. 20 mins wait for food. Dirty high chair. Fairly dingy old place, which usually means the food will be good. We waited half an hour and no food. When we complained they said “that’s because it’s not ready yet”. When my wife told him he was rude and should apologise, he ignored her. When we told the waitress about his rudeness she said they had decided to change the charcoal mid lunch service. Very silly. She was not phased at all when we said we wouldn’t be back. The meat and bread was very tasty, with proper dip it would have been next level but we won’t be back. I can’t imagine people come here for the customer service. Also the “salad” was basically a garnish not a proper salad. Not very good value. If the food wasn’t nice, I’d be giving this place 1 star
The chicken kebabs were just magical. So juicy and tasty. The service was also quick and great.
Will come back again
