Adult Ballet Centre reviews
10 Having discovered this little studio was truly a saving grace. This studio is run by the most dedicated women and an excellent space to meet really friendly people. This is an inclusive space that welcomes all regardless of your gender, age or level of dance experience.
What I love:
Well structured classes designed for adults who have some dance experience or even building your technique from square one for absolute beginners.
Emphasis on using correct muscles specific for classical ballet and injury prevention. The teachers are passionate, patient, and pay attention to each individual's needs.
Invitation of former/professional dancers for guest teachers, masterclasses, variation classes, with progressive material to keep classes refreshing and exciting.
If you are still reading this then you should come by and try a class!
Nice studio and the owner & teachers are helpful, talented & share their infectious passion for ballet.
The Adult Ballet Centre is a wonderful place to learn Ballet. The environment and team are welcoming and no matter what stage of dancing you are at, you feeling supported and inspired to learn more.
I’m obsessed with ballet but have not done classes for 40 years. I have balance issues with osteoporosis but Lee was very open to me trialling the Introduction to Classical Ballet classes. After a term I have found it a wonderful weekly experience. Other class members are welcoming, the teachers are great & I feel goals already on the way. Next term I’ll be doing two classes a week. I highly recommended this school to anyone wanting to learn dance.
I love dancing at this ballet studio. It was great to find a local ballet school. The classes are relaxed and fun while improving my dancing technique. Amy, Mollie and Jen are all wonderful teachers. I'm really enjoying exploring new styles of dance with Jen's hip hop and Contemporary classes.
I really enjoy coming to ballet classes here, a childhood dream has come true. Amy does a wonderful job with us beginners and I highly recommend joining the Adult Ballet Centre if you're after a relaxed and encouraging atmosphere.
Love this ballet studio! Rochelle is an excellent instructor and caters for all levels. I’ve been attending for 6 months now and am really enjoying the classes. Highly recommend
I've always adored ballet and wanted to learn, but as a plus size woman the fear of rejection for not having the correct 'ballet body and physique' was real. Also the notion of starting as an adult and standing in a room in a leotard and tights scared the heck out of me. When I did my research and came across the Adult Ballet Centre's motto of 'no leotards' I decided to push myself out of my comfort zone and try something new. I discovered there was absolutely no reason to be fearful, as everyone I've come into contact with has been extremely inclusive and encouraging. I look forward to my class every week and practice through the week also. I've found the structure of the introduction classes easy to follow yet still challenging, and all corrections are gentle and supportive. I've learned that any body can be a ballet body, and the Adult Ballet Centre has definitely encouraged that!
I was so glad to find the Adult Ballet Centre after years of searching for a place that taught ballet to adults that would fit around my work schedule and that is local to the south-east area. Such a relaxed and enthusiastic environment coming to class and Mollie is a fantastic instructor who has a wealth of knowledge. I would recommend this place to anyone new to ballet or looking to get back into it after a long break.
After a nasty broken ankle, I was looking for some strengthening exercises, and having done ballet as a child/teenager, I knew it would be a great option. I was so excited to find Adult Ballet Centre walking distance from my home. Rochelle has been fantastic, and so welcoming, as have all the other dancers in class. My physiotherapist has been amazed by the improvement in my strength and balance, and my osteopath has commented on my improved posture (being at a desk all day).
I was intimidated for years to step back into a ballet studio, but now I look forward to classes each week. Thank you Rochelle, Lee-Anne and Mollie for your dedication and support, and making classes so much fun!
