Acorn Window Cleaning Melbourne

Our building has been relying on ACS to wash our exterior windows every six months for a number of years. The OC is very happy with the service, which is reliable, courteous and efficient. Most importantly, ACS provide value for money, so much so that I’m now hiring them to do my interior windows as well!

Very unprofessional cleaning staff. And poor customer service as well. They sent a guy to quote our window cleaning job. He visited the site and carefully quoted the exact amount of $440. Covid lockdown happened just few days after, so the company had to cancel our cleaning session. As soon as the lockdowns were lifted we called again, and the office confirmed that the quote was still valid, but that they were too busy to fit us in. In the meanwhile we got a quote from another company for $500, so we decided to wait for Acorn window cleaning company. We called few times and the first availability they had was for today. My husband and I managed to move things around and be at home for the time they needed to clean the windows. Today another guy from Acorn company showed up and said he would do the same job for $770 instead of $440 that they had quoted us! Also he said the bay windows are hard to access and those can not be cleaned from the inside (they were included in the quote that Acorn company had given us). I called their office immediately after the guy left this morning, and the office staff said they couldn’t do anything about the increase in the quote! When I asked to speak with a manager, they said no manager is available to speak on the phone. I insisted to speak with a manager, and they said no one can talk to me this morning or this afternoon and the earliest would be sometime during the week next week! Not even sure what day of the week next week.
Firstly: they didn’t honor their own quote, even though we double-checked if the quote was still valid when we booked in for today (and they had said it was still valid).
Secondly: they wasted all this time and didn’t respect that a customer who has a lot of other things to do, has stayed home for their window cleaning session today.
Thirdly: very poor customer service. Very irresponsible for what had happened. And no manager to even speak on the phone until next week.
I am writing this review just because I don’t want anybody else to experience what we did. I hope they change the way they run their business in the future, and value their own words and their customers’ time and trust.

Acorn window cleaning has been in existence for a long time and run an online store selling equipment.

I placed two orders for the same item and both were just mishandled like there is no tomorrow.

I placed an order for window cleaning towels which were in stock on the website but 2 days later they called me and said they are out of stock and will be available after 2 months in december. I asked for a refund as i needed them asap, the obliged and end of story.

In dec i got a call from their shop saying that item is back in stock and i reordered about 200 towels and the girl promised me i would have it in 3 days, long and behold, its nearly 1.5 months and i dont have the item still as the tracking no they gave me does not bring up anything, they put an enquiry in with ARAMEX but they would not issue me a refund till the enquiry is complete, lucky i paid via paypal and was able to get my refund, the shop and the delivery address are 15 kms apart, initially i was speaking to michael who was easy to deal with but then it was taken over by the owner who was down right rude, declined to give me my refund. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. WOULD NOT TRUST THEM AND HAVE ALREADY FOUND ALTERNATIVE SUPPLIERS.

I have been looking for a company that was polite, courteous and did an amazing job on massive windows. I cannot recommend Acorn enough. They were super polite and kind, changed my appointment, helped me, did an above amazing job on the windows which were a mess and very dirty.
If you are particular and need excellent service then Acorn are the only company to use. I am extremely fussy but this was outstanding work!

They didn’t show up to do the quote when they said they would. When I called to ask when they would arrive the guy, Mike, was quite rude and said ‘I see where this is going. ’ Yes Mike, it’s going to another window cleaning company.

Acorn Window Cleaning (Simon) did a fantastic job resurrecting our pool fence. I had applied a retail version of Enduroshield on 5 of 17 glass panels a few years ago before I ran out of product and procrastinated completing the job. When I resumed the remaining glass panels had pool chemicals etched into the surface that I could not remove with elbow grease or steel wool on a rotating disc. When I rang Acorn, I was prepared for a "good as we can get it" outcome, but Simon polished the glass back to what I would describe as "better than new" and then applied Enduroshield and it is fantastic. I rinsed them off this week after having 22 fifteen-year-old footy players splashing around for 4 hours and it came up a treat. What was a 1-2 hours job took me under 20 minutes!

Maurice went over and above expectations - washing all the windows inside and out and he cleaned all the mirrors as well. He even helped me remove a sliding screen door so it could be cleaned properly. The price was very reasonable. Our windows have not been this clean in years!

It took them three business days between the time that they gave me a quote over the phone, and them sending a proper quote by email. I expected them to at least provide a break down of their price since it seemed a bit excessive. They didn't. As it turned out their quote was nearly 200aud more than a similar company quoted me. 30% higher! If you really want to get job done by these guys be ready to keep calling them for everything.

After a less than desirable initial customer experience, I was extremely impressed by the immediate action taken by the proprietor (Owen) to rectify the situation in such a professional way. I'm now booked for October.

Stopped in and got some great advice on cleaning windows in my apartment. Didn't make a purchase but they were generous with their know-how. Will definitely be back
