Academy of Mary Immaculate reviews
12As a previous year 7 here, the school does great in keeping the students academically excellent in all areas of study, but they dont really care about the students well being and tell us off for everything.they pretend to care but most teachers dont, its disgusting
I'm a freshman year 7 here, it's my first day and I already love this school.
All the girls are so quiet – in primary school with a mix of boys and girls, it's like a DJ party.
When the teacher speaks, all the girls listened without interrupting and fidgeting with things.
The teachers are very nice, the school is very neat and spacious.
When I sent my uncle to this school, he cried for 14 days! If you believe in justice for crying uncles, don’t send your child here! The Stairs were nicely spaced apart though, so over all it’s worth it!
I'll write a review on behalf of one of my best friends. Despite the fact that she unexpectedly showed up at my door in tears after a long day of school, I can't blame the academy. We both agree that you can feel this way anywhere, but I'm aware that there are some aspects that are tedious. Despite the fact that I am a male attending a different school, I recommend attending the academy.
I realise it's unusual for me to write what I believe to be a formal review, and I apologise if this comes across as inconvenient.
Most disappointed, coming out from my appointment at st Vincent’s.girls on the train bickering and gossiping at eachother, The school community needs to learn more courtesy and respect of others.
Thankyou
I was watching a post of the year 12 students leave the college for the last time in 2020 last week and it brought back memories of my daughter’s happy years at the Academy. It was a bitter sweet day when my daughter Milly Bridgman along with her beautiful friends, who remain a big part of her life, left AMI in 2009. She has taken the values and life lessons with her from this wonderful school that continue to stand her in good stead.
I’m forever grateful that I was able to give her this education and experience ️
Bullied by classless students, physical education teacher/coordinator was an unprofessional & absolute disgrace in my time
Academy really is the city school for girls! With the city on their doorstep the students have many opportunities for active learning outside the school gates. Love to see the girls in uniform exploring our great city.
Here's the truth. You'll be asked to donate money to countless charities throughout the years here, it gets quite annoying because its simply a facade.the school (like most schools) likes to make out that they are something else but really it almost feels as if they couldn't care less about a students well being. (so much for their 7 mercy values or whatever) Furthermore, some staff in positions of power are quite ruthless to the point where it may be hurtful for some students (my own experiences) They also claim to inspire and empower young girls.well, if this is the case, why do you have so many incompetent, ruthless staff (mainly men) in high up positions who make decisions on behalf of students whilst they have little say.
Also it seems as if they prioritise religion classes too much in VCE. On the topic of VCE, the subject selection is dull and very small. Some teachers are very good and hardworking, whilst others aren't so much and they do not have as many younger teachers as they should have. Overall, i've had quite an upsetting time at Academy as ive watched them market themselves as caring, accommodating and quaint when i and many others have been struggling with various issues and got little to no support from people in positions who were meant to be "supportive". I wouldn't send my kid here, that would be a waste of time.
As a previous student here I got bullied, called fat told to kill myself so I went to talk to the teacher about it they said I was lying saying "Enough with the lies" and I got detention. So please be careful make sure your child is happy.
