Sought a lighting consult from the experts and was lucky enough to be assigned Jodie M. I had a bit of an idea about the overall look I was seeking, and no idea how. Jodie brought the whole room to life. As I changed my mind, she kept up, each time offering workable solutions and assisted right through to the ordering stage. Can't thank you enough Jodie, you made one stressful job sooooo easy!

Staff were friendly. This why they get 1 star.
Communication was extremely poor from their back end to staff and from there to us as the customer.

About 90% of the time we had to call to find out what was happening. We had paid upfront for an expensive light fitting to find out that it was not in the container even though we had been told all along that it was.
A weak apology and a suggestion that we could reorder.

Never again!

We have had the most fantastic experience at About Space in St Kilda thanks to William!
Will provided us with the best customer service from beginning to end and followed up with us regularly, helping us select the perfect lighting for our project.

All five of my five stars are going to the lovely Ash from About Space. After I realised a light I had bought was too large for my lounge room, Ash ensured I could have store credit despite it being a sale item!
She then helped me in the virtual showroom to pick the right light for me, as I was having difficulty during lockdown and couldn't come to the store to see for myself. I have now selected the perfect light, all thanks to the help of Ash
I do recommend asking for her specifically if you ever want to purchase from About Space

I had a great experience dealing with Jodie from About Space who was able to work with me (completely online during Covid shutdowns) to put together a lighting plan for our new home being built. She was responsive explaining creative options and practical solutions across both the internal and external lighting plan. She also assisted in a smooth and hassle-free ordering process. I want to give a big shout out and a big thank-you to Don Rabanal for his amazing service and all the work that he has done in providing us with lighting designs and light fittings for our project in Caulfield. It has been a challenging project but Don has solved all our lighting problems in a very timely manner and with an amazing attitude. He really cared about our project and had bend over backwards in fulfilling both our client’s and builder’s requests. I am an architect in Melbourne and it has been an absolute pleasure working with him on achieving good level of lighting and selecting the right contemporary fittings that has enhanced our interior design. Their fittings are of very good quality. Our clients are very happy and we are looking forward to working on more projects with Don. Thank very much Don! You are a blessing to us!

Building a house for the first time is daunting. Doing that interstate and during lockdown is overwhelming. We booked a lighting consultation with Jodie and I can't emphasise what a great decision that was. She clearly understood our brief and what we were aiming for. She thoughtfully provided product recommendations that aligned with our budget. She took the time to overlay a lighting plan on our floorplan which has made it incredibly easy to brief our builder and electrician. We had changes along the way but Jodie was always patient and willing to help us. Super happy with the high quality and beautifully designed products from About Space and Jodie is a star. Hi Don,
I just wanted to let you know that the two lights have been delivered to me this morning. I won't take them out of their boxes until the
electrician comes to install them, but I have had a peep and they look perfect!

I have been in need of light fittings for the last 6 years but I am / was a procrastinator.
Walked into "About Space" Gertrude St.just for a look! And to start the process (but of course not to complete in 1 day!)
1 Hr. Walked out with my much needed 5 fittings!
Whitney was amazing,
she so understood my house and ME, the vibe I wanted,
classic but contemporary, understated but significant, respectful to the house's past but bringing it into 2020 +
Whitney's product knowledge was obvious, prices were really surprising

Giving this company 1 star is far too generous. It took 3 months to get our $6000 light fixtures working. The customer relations are absolutely appalling! The staff, ranging from shop staff to executive level, show scant disregard for any concern the customer may have. Only through absolute persistence were we able to get our malfunctioning light working. By this time, we had paid our own electrician over $1000 to follow ill-advised directions from the unhelpful staff. Shame on you About Space!

I had an issue with a light that was no longer under warantee but should have lasted longer. The company stood by the product and replaced it for a very small amount. Whitney went above and beyond to get this issue settled and I would have no hesitation in recommending or buying from them again.

We had a truly positive experience at About Space right from our first visit to the final collection of our custom made light. The service and knowledge of Berenger was outstanding and we were amazed at how he remembered so much about our situation each time we visited. We had no hesitation whatsoever purchasing from the St Kilda store and we always visited on a day when we knew Berenger was there. Thank you so much for adding such value to our experience!
