I took my first broken loved item for repair to Ace China Repairs about 35 years ago and have been amazed and thrilled with the results every time. Such skill and such joy at having my item back restored to the way it was.

I have used Tyson China Repairs for over 25 years and have always found their workmanship outstanding. There is not much they cannot fix be it repairs to porcelain, repairs to chandeliers and lamps. Very skillful people

Not happy like everyone else. Got a verbal quote but when I went in to pick up there was extra piece for GST put on top. I was verbally told off for questioning the price. Do not go here.

Like others, I am definitely not happy. I give minus stars.

I asked for a quote when I dropped off my item for repair. I was not given one. I kept calling to follow up on the quote and was given an approx price and told a quote would be forthcoming.

I was then called to advise that my item was ready for collection - yet I hadn't been advised of the price, nor did I approve it.

We then agreed that I would pay the approximate price that I was given, but plus gst. When I questioned why gst should be added to the price I was advised, it wasn't pretty.

After I paid and I advised the owner that I would be going to Consumer Affairs about this, he did a visual representation of playing a violin, and advised that the repair was the best I would ever get and that I was lucky to have had the repair done at all. Understandably, I will not be going back and can not recommend this establishment to anyone.

Excellent services! Took an antique ink stand in and they were able to fabricate a ceramic ink well liner to fit! Also did some minor repair to a malachite carving. Have taken in a glass liner with a chipped corner to get that fixed as well. Is there anything these guys can't do?

Not happy. Like others, read the docket very carefully. He added GST to the verbally quoted price on the docket which was so badly done that I didn't notice. He argued the point in a crazy Basil Faulty sort of way which was almostwalmost the extra 10% but I won't be going back for more.

I've been coming to this restoration institution for many years, like my mother before me. Always been very happy with the outcome of my repairs and can tell that the staff, including Mr Tyson himself, are passionate and skillful. It's great to see such a hands on business owner in this day and age.

I was expecting to throw out my broken items but my bowl and teapot were repaired to look as good as new and are both still functional with food and liquid! I would highly recommend. Excellent craftsmanship!

Peter does business like he played cricket; with honesty, integrity and with great respect for the opposition (or in this case, the customer). His craftsmanship and repair work are second to none, perhaps only rivaled by his determined batting. Thanks Petro!

I had a similar experience to another reviewer. As far as I understood, the rather exorbitant quote for repairs to my lamp base (he definitely saw me coming!) included the provision of a shade. When I collected it today, there was no shade. When I asked about it I was informed that it wasn't written on the ticket and therefore wasn't included in the quote. I was told I should have read the ticket properly, (rather than trusting in the integrity of the store owner?), and that there had been a miscommunication. There wasn't on my part. The fact is that the ticket was handwritten and virtually illegible. I left extremely disappointed. If you use the services of this store, be careful to have the price and what it includes in legible writing. Perhaps Mr Tyson could enter the 21st century and have a printed quote available. Certainly a case of "buyer beware! "

I give NO stars! Make sure you get everything in writing as when you go to pick up, he may mark double the price he quoted and doing less work than what had been agreed upon.
