Aangan Express - Essendon

My family did not enjoy food at all.
Chicken tikka butter masala did not taste good, chicken tikka nan had no chicken in there. Garlic nan had so much oil on it instead of butter.
Idli and sambar was one of the worst dish. Coconut chutney had made me there was raw taste of lentils in it.
Only because of choley bhatoore, dahi bhalla I gave 1 star for food.
Be mindful before you go there, don’t have high expectations

We dined as a family of 4 on a quiet Tuesday night. Children's menu was a winner for the girls, and this was a great introduction to Indian cuisine for them. We settled for butter chicken and daal. Great food at a reasonable price

One of the best Indian food I have tasted. Their other branch in Footscray needs to shape up in terms of atmosphere. It looks clean and organised.

This restaurant started out Ok but has since gone totally downhill.
Each time we go it gets worse.
Last time we ordered take away the small amount in the curry was grissley cheap cuts, the naan was clearly reheated from hours before tough as boots. The only good thing was the rice and we paid premium price for this junk.
Never again.

Sorry to say but your staff don’t know how to talk with customers. I order my food for my birthday party around $150 I pay. Specially I ordered gajar halwa 2 servings for guests. I talk with staff members next day not for refund. But staff said no it’s not our mistake. We checked the order you telling lies make stories. Oh my god. We are human. Mistakes is normal specially on weekends because of busy restaurants. Please make sure next time don’t show this type of behaviour next time.

I visited for lunch in Aangan Express Essendon. I was delighted by the authentic North Indian main course. The spices and flavours were extremely impressive. The owner runs this restaurant with a great bunch of people. The food was fresh, tasty and was customized accordingly. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Aangan Express Team in Essendon.

There is something about a curry house that combines the best of India with a feel of Australia.

If you are in Niddrie and looking for a feed, then the Aangan Express provides a really tasty meal in a clean and comfortable environment. I will probably be back.

I can’t fault the flavour, it’s amazing. But $31.50 for butter chicken and garlic naan and you only get 4 little pieces of chicken?

Your essentially getting rice and sauce for $31. That’s poor form

Food is Amazing! Tasty and authentic.the Owner is a very humble polite gentleman who is passionate about what he serves.

Ordered Dal makhani. I must say, that quality is avg for the price. Felt like extra water was added that lowered the spice level and salt in it. I can make better Dal makhani than this at home.

I had ordered manchurian gravy and it was fully watery and for the paneer they put too much oil into it, anyone can take that oil out and make another curry with that. Paneer was tasteless and hard.

On the other side, guys u need to have change with you every time, so you don’t waste the time of customer. As whenever I visited to ur restaurant you always said we don’t have change to give u back.
Staff always tried to give 5-10-20 cent coins of 10-15 dollar in return.
How about if someone got a bill and the same individual gives u 5-10 cents?
How you will feel it…
I hope next time no one will expect to get these things.

Food was terrible! Onion Bahjis were onion in egg deep fried. Sauce I ordered wasn’t what I ordered. I don’t leave reviews but this is the second time it’s been terrible

Absolutely love the food here. We tried most of their chat items, chai and also butter chicken and savoured every bite of it. We very hesitantly tried their butter chicken considering how other restaurants make it sweet, but absolutely loved it! Glad we found a great Desi place to keep going back to and appreciate the friendly service.

Love this restaurant! One of the best Indian restaurants in the north western suburbs. Pankaj the owner is so kind and accommodative to all our customizations with the food. We always have so many requests, but he patiently listens to all of it and delivers great food. My son loves the food here and always asks to come here.
