A1 Bakery reviews
61Bustling space with bakery essentials, hot food and a range of useful grocery items. Queues can get long.
Food is always spot on always so busy. They really Need to work out something with the seating a little crammed.
They give you flavour and enough on a plate (or in a wrapper if you are on the run!) to satisfy foodies that have never made it to the Mid-East. Do go as it's pretty much spot on
It’s the best food since I arrived Mel! And it’s my first time to try the Lebanese dish which is amazingly deliciousI’d definitely go back and try more.
Nice place for Lebanese bakery
The Spanish very nice.
The food overall is good
My kids love the fish tank as well
Good quality, tasty authentic Middle Eastern food at fantastic prices. Very affordable comfortable environment. They also bake and sell Lebanese bread.
The staff are extremely happy to help you and the food and coffee are freshly made and taste excellent.
They have a grocery line that is quiet extensive as well.
The service is fast and efficient and really one can't go past the yummy takeaway line available.
Their flat bread is second to none.
Love it, come here every day - so good when you are hungover - which I am everyday - very happy to make me a 6 shot coffee - good job a1
It is good experience and has a good varieties. But the value is small according to price and the staff needs more experience and training
Fantastic establishment!
I can’t go past the pizza’s and sweets.
Coffee is great too!
The staff are very friendly and welcoming. Great service.
Access: Parking is a challenge especially around lunch hours, best to park on side streets.
Restaurant was very busy, service was generally quick, our order was somehow missed and delayed. No complains, happens.
Ordered a garlic chicken Pizza and falafel platter.
Would recommend going for the hot breads.
The pita served on falafel platter tasted cheap and stale, falafels were hot and crispy but dip was gooey, overall 6ish.
Pizza however was 9 on 10. Chicken nice and tender, well seasoned, tasted good.
Paid $18 for two dishes. Lost two stars on pita: (
One of my favorite, kid-friendly breakfast and lunch spots in Melbourne. Delicious middle eastern menu. Perfect felafel, freshly baked spinach and cheese triangles, eggs how you like them, pickles, and manoush (Lebanese pizza). It’s calm on weekday mornings, buzzing on the weekends.
Tasty food, specially pies. Would recommend their spinach and cheese pie and meat pie! Very friendly staff!
Yummy affordable and just consistent. Kind of
Like McDonald’s in the sense you know what you’re getting and it’s of the same quality every time. Would be dangerous if I lived closer to a1.
Stopped in here and tried the A1 special, my first time and I loved it.all the flavours, and the bread, the bread, the bread. I can't wait to come back.
I LOVE A1 and have been visiting for many years. My only issue was yesterday when I ordered the cheese pies to be made VEGAN. I reiterated this twice when ordering and they advertise as having vegan cheese available. An error was somehow made as what I ate was NOT vegan cheese. Was almost instantly sick and was so for several hours. To the staff, please be more careful next time. This was the first and only time I've had an issue with A1.
I came today for the very first time and I am already looking forward to coming back soon.
I had the "A1 Special" with sausage and it was absolutely delicious. It tasted fresh (even the bread!) and it was not greasy at all. That is a huge plus for me. For only $10, the "A1 Special" was definitely worth it. Coffee was good too:)
A local institution for good Zaatar and meat pizza and other Lebanese bakery items. Coffee a bit stock standard. The location is usually pretty flat out and busy.
- Good Zaatar and other bakery items - Except don't come in the late afternoon as bread is not as fresh.
- Good price
- Location is ideal
- Don't come here for the coffee
- Service? What service
Extremely popular Lebanese bakery on Sydney Road. The food is unbelievably affordable for the taste and quality that you get.
We tried:
Zaatar (only $1.5 each)
️ Falafel Platter ($8.5)
This is our first time I think having a freshly baked zaatar, omg it was so awesome! The bread is on the right thickness, light, fluffy but still crispy on the outer side. The sumac is very prominent and love the crispiness from the sesame seeds. Brilliant creation by this bakery that has been opened since 1992! No wonder Anthony Bourdain once visited this bakery in 2009 to film No Reservations in Melbourne, Australia, and guess what? He ate the same item, Zaatar
The falafel platter was also delightful! We can see that they are homemade and freshly deep fried. We’ll definitely come back to get the falafel again and also try the other platters on the menu.
Must visit!
Vegan in Brunswick
Absolute institution and great value.
If you’re in Brunswick and not been here, then you’re missing out.
Great menu which caters for both omnivores and herbivores, I rotate the falafel pizza, za’atar with veggies and falafel wrap.
They also do kaftas, shanklish and other delicious Lebanese food. The vegan baklava (chef’s kiss)
Lebanese groceries available as well, peep the garlic dip for sure.
Get down there asap, see you there.
