A1 Bakery - Fitzroy reviews
15 The A1 bakery is probably one of the best bakery's I've been to, and hopefully will remain one. It was also our first time trying Lebanese food, and let me say, it was amazing! Here's why;
Pros;
Food was amazing and extremely cheap, around $7 minimum
Great portion sizes
Ready within 2 minutes, 5 minutes max.
Cons;
Not enough seating
Overall, the A1 bakery is great for anyone and is quick and fast for a snack or lunch.
Thank you A1 bakery! We are definitley coming back.
A good cheap bakery! The service was super quick, the staff were friendly and everything was great value with most food options being under ten dollars. I tried the spinach and cheese triangle and it was quite tasty although it was a little watery (if that's the right way to put it) as liquid from the spinach leaked on my hand as I was eating it at one point. But aside from that, everything else was very good.
Definitely my favorite place to get lunch since it's opened. Staff are super friendly, and the food is great!
Last time I was here, my payment didn't go through, and I was told (By Raf, I think their name is) to pay the next time (which I've done now haha!), thanks!
10/10
First of all, I don't mind when a place charges surcharges if it helps pay staff wages, but it has to be in the lawful manner.
I went in, browsed the menu, picked an item, and double checked for any listing of surcharges. Nothing. So I ordered a pizza for $10.50 and was shocked to hear a much higher total. I mentioned that I know the law regarding surcharges and they must be clearly listed on the menu. There was nothing of the sort here, or anywhere, making this a deceptive, unlawful surcharge. The staff member said to me "oh we aren't going to print new menus just for the public holiday", which was bizarre. All it needs is a "15% public holiday surcharge" on it.
I left as I don't support businesses who do this shady practice. Don't support businesses that aren't lawfully transparent with surcharges.
I recently visited this coffee shop, and I was thoroughly impressed! The cozy ambiance and friendly staff immediately made me feel welcome. The coffee was outstanding – rich, aromatic, and brewed to perfection. They offer a wide range of coffee options to satisfy any palate, and their pastries were delicious too. I can't wait to return for another delightful coffee experience!
Honestly the best bakery in town. Much like it's home flagship store in Brunswick. The best pizzas in town. I don't know what to complain about. Those that just put a one star rating, don't really know what good food and customer service is. A message to others if you are unhappy with a order, feel free to reach out to them. They are not going to snap your heads off or kick you out.
The team is ever so friendly, kind and compassionate. I have never met such a lovely bunch of people
Such good cheap eats for students
(Spinach and cheese triangles are so good for their price)
The food is good. I love their zaatar and spinach & cheese triangle. They also sell crispy pita chips as well. The place is rather small compared to the Brunswick one, but the service and food quality are good.
Best addition to fitzroy, best option for breakfast and lunch. Food is awesome and prices are genuine too.
Love it.
We were in Fitzroy for a Sunday coffee and mooch around when we locked eyes with A1 Bakery and instantly reminded of the Cheese Pie we wanted to try, that we saw on Postcards, (at the original store).
It's a lovely fit-out. Cool Fitzroy vibe. The tabouli and hummus looked delicious, all the food looked fresh as.
We got the cheese pie and didn't like it! Gah! I think we're in the minority though?
We will definitely be back to try other things.
Amazing staff and a lovely shop. Delious pies and great coffee. Would recommend to anyone visiting Fitzroy!
Absolutely love the cheese pie, the stringy Halloumi is delicious can't wait to try the rest of the menu.
Workers work with no gloves handling food. Paper wraps were dropped on the floor, used and given to the customers.one worker was using one glove and none on the other, seen scratching her face without the gloves and was handling food
I recently had the pleasure of dining at A1 Bakery, and I must say, it was an amazing experience. The chicken wrap I ordered was not only delicious, but also came in a generous portion size. The combination of tender chicken, flavorful picked turnips&cucumber, garlic and hot chips was simply mouthwatering. Additionally, I tried their shankleesh pie, which was a delightful blend of creamy cheese, tomato, and onions.
Overall, A1 Bakery impressed me with their tasty food and satisfying portions. I highly recommend paying them a visit!
One of my favorite spot for Lebanese pizzas, pies and pastries. Still love the Sydney road more for the vibes. This is my spot for the A1 special pizzas and pies.
