My family including the two (2) grandkids enjoyed our 3-nite stay at this lovely country-side accommodation, which has its own mini zoo! The nocturnal tour helped us to better understand animal behaviours at nite, an interesting experience for all, adults and kids.

We enjoyed staying in the cottage which was well furnished with comfy beds and other necessary amenities.

We observed that Loo and Steve were really passionate in running the place and took care of our needs, personally.

Try to grab the opportunity to stay here, I am sure you will love the unique experience!

Fantastic getaway. Friendly owners Lou and Steve make you feel welcome. Great for families as have big range of animals spread around property plus do a great nocturnal animal tour at dusk. A Twist of Willow is a place to relax by the pool or visit what the local area has to offer, it's up to you, do as little as you want or as much.

A beautiful place for a break from the hustle and bustle in the city. Ample parking and mini lodge we selected was more than enough for a couple for a get away weekend. The mini zoo and the night tour add more value to the trip. The host couple is fantastic.

Steve Hardy is the Director of Yarra Ranges Nocturnal Zoo (a NDIS Disability funded day program) and A Twist of Willow Accommodation. He directly discriminates against all participants who live with disabilities by picking and choosing and then denying them the opportunity to participate in the program if their disability/medical condition severely fluctuates due to the seasons. He says it’s a “work place ready” program that all NDIS participants volunteer their time plus pay $187 a day for with a continuous agreement that has absolutely NO 24hr cancellation Period like every other organisations in the NDIS.
There is a history of bullying from paid support workers that is never properly addressed and the victim is banished from the program if they speak up about it. The director will be exceedingly discriminating, rude, disrespectful, highly dishonest, condescending, demeaning, derogatory about your weight, what you eat, what you do in your personal time and ultimately blame you for everything and anything under the sun, even having the audacity to make up bs claims to get you out of the program instead of addressing the key issues at hand and try to push all the issues under the carpet because it’s in the “too hard basket! ” I’d avoid this place like the plague as it’s not worth your time, energy or money, you’ll get way better accommodation that isn’t basic and services elsewhere!

Steve and Loo have built a beautiful place from heart. The night tour is amazing; you will get to experience a bit of the Australian wildlife in a safe environment. The accomodation is also great, clean and comfortable. The white rooster is a funny little sneaky one. Keep an eye on him, lol.

It's a place that is really special. Love the animals and the night time tour of nocturnal creatures that we had. Picking lemons. So much to do in the area.

Slightly kooky place, we stayed in the room between the wombat and the emus.fire pit non functional and no wood, trampoline not useable, bbq was really super handy for meals, going for a walk around reveals a great place to see wild life with all sorts of animals and the guided tour is a must so you can see them all.close to the rail trail at the end of the road.enjoyed our stay!

Absolutely loved our stay at this B&B. The hosts Loo and Steve have dedicated so much work to this sanctuary and you can feel it. They were so friendly and accommodating with a wealth of animal knowledge. You can tell the animals are happy and relaxed from great care. We were greeted by emus and a cat.the wild like that we met after that were just a bonus. This place is a must see for animal lovers. The nocturnal tour was brilliant and is well worth going on.
The room was tidy, clean and homely. I slept peacefully in the big comfy bed. I would definitely stay again!

This was an amazing surprise. So many well cared for and adorable animals. It was such a great experience, it is where my partner and I got engaged. The night tour was friendly and relaxed. I didn’t want to leave.

We stayed one night at the cottage and it was a wonderful experience. The night tour by Steve opened our eyes to a variety of Australian animals. We had close interaction with Kangaroos, sugar gliders and many other animals. The room is clean and comfortable. Please read the email sent by the owner, it will give you clear instructions in finding the place.

I had booked the lodge for my husband, daughter, her 2 children and myself, paid for it over the phone.
Something came up as my husband is not well, in fact is in hospital yet again, he has dementia and when I called to cancel the room I was told that the near $500.00 I had paid from my pension I was not going to get back, I told the woman who answered phone the reason I had cancelled and she kept laughing so tonight when we were supposed to be there I tried yet again to return our money, again she laughed so this time I had a go at her saying " it's not funny, my husband has dementia but and is in hospital, 6th time in a few months. She did stop laughing but I am hurting deeply over this and she made it way WORSE.
I don't recommend this as a good place to go. I am close to tears yet again. Thanks for nothing a twist of willow

Fantastic stay at the Twist of Willow. Loved the nocturnal channel. Wilbur the wombat kept us entertained with his antics! Steve the Nocturnal Tour was a great experience to be up close and personal with your animals.
A big thank you to Loo and Steve. Amazing hosts.
What a great opportunity you give to your zoo helpers through the NDIS disability program. Opportunities that they would otherwise not be able to experience. The smiles on their faces says it all.
Highly recommend a stay at Twist of Willow for couples or families.

The owners of the property were fantastic to deal with considering so many of us staying for the weekend. Steve and Loo are extremely passionate about our wildlife and took the kids on a dusk animal feeding tour where they were able to feed a wombat, sugar gliders, owls and other birds - such an educational experience for them. CCTV set up in all cabins so we could watch the nocturnal animals in their habitat at night. Steve even decided to pop in during our bbq dinner with his pet Python which the kids loved. The outdoor bbq kitchen, fireplace, dining table, TV and lounge suites was a great area to all eat and have a few drinks. The beds were comfortable, the bathrooms were lovely with great shower pressure. The kids loved the outdoor pool and exploring the property. Highly recommend Twist of Willow for a great farm stay/zoo experience.
