A red dot Japanese Restaurant reviews
26 Amazing food and service.
We have never had a bad meal here, and it keeps us coming back again and again.
We usually get 1 main, and 5 sides to share between 3 people.
Food was quite nice but we got the banquet option for the surprise aspect of the meal.
It was nice but we added it all together and figured out that it cost more to get the banquet with choices made for you, rather than buying all the dishes individually.
I would've expected to at least get the same value or better, so that was unfortunate.
My advice is to buy yourself a ton of food on your own, the banquet ends up as a rip off: (
Tucked away in Traralgon this is a perfect spot that serves up authentic Japanese food. We had the banquet menu and loved the selection of food prepared by the chef
What we ate:
Salmon Sashimi
Tako Yaki
Lotus root chips with miso aioli
Kara-age Chicken
Tatsuta-age Salmon
Eggplant Dengaku
Cream Croquettes
Yakiniku
Mochi Donut (not included in the banquet)
Gateau Au chocolat (not included in the banquet)
Cant wait to visit again!
Chanced upon this place for dinner. Cosy restaurant with amazing service. The food was good and would definitely love to come back again!
Some of the best Japanese in town. While a little on the pricey side, the food is freshly cooked & tasty, the restaurant is clean and the staff are lovely. I strongly recommend it to anyone looking for some great Asian food in town.
Went here for dinner with my father. The food was amazing and the service was even better. 10/10
I love coming here. Simple menu, very tasty. I am sooo glad Traralgon has a place like this. I come here every time I’m here, sometimes twice! Such good food, just go,
My first Japanese food in a very long time. I was not disappointed. All food was exquisite and most enjoyable. Thankyou very much.
Food was good. Price was very expensive for main dishes. Service was not that great. Not so welcoming. Would probably recommend other better places in the same street.
Second to none customer service and amazing food!
Upon arrival I was greeted by the staff, getting to my table I realised there was no table water, which is a pet peeve of mine because I drink like a fish.
Well my concerns were soon quashed, not only was my cup never empty, the staff attended to any requests in a timely and friendly manner.
Most of the food was amazing with only the squid balls being the only item that was just good.
The standout dish for us (much to our surprise) was the eggplant entree, it was just simply delicious.
To top off the night, when paying for the bill, the staff member who served us made a genuinely funny joke and clearly loved what he did.
Could not recommend this place enough.
Stopped by here for lunch with the family. Their excellent value lunch sets and authentic Japanese flavours are not to be missed if you happen to pass through the area exploring Gippsland. Sets also come with good choices of drinks not pictured.
Love the food, great staff, authentic Japanese flavours, and the owners even let me practiced speaking Japanese with them - will be back
Very good.
Friendly staff and quick kitchen.
Shushi was a bit plain.
Mains were delicious, tho the beef skewers were a little pricey.
Still the best Japanese in Gippsland.
Wow. Just Wow! If there was just one thing to bring us back to Gippsland, it would be to eat at A red dot again. A great menu, food beautifully prepared, wonderful flavours, a small, local wine list carefully chosen and really friendly service made this meal an unexpected treat. Simple decor and decent music at good levels for conversation topped off the experience. Another reason to return to this great part of the world.

Went with a group of work colleagues last night. We had a long table for quite a few of us. We had a fun night. Personally, on a strict Keto, most of the food and my personal choice, I didn’t eat but it was good service, very attentive. Thank you.
Very high quality food, nice environment and the staff is very polite.
Definitely recommend this place.
Have never been disappointed in the food here. The service is amazing too! Japanese beer on tap too!
Friendly and authentic. Food was yummy too! Loved the wagyu entree, and the mochi icecream at the end was perfect for a hot summer day.
Wonderful food and very quirky. Loved it. My daughter took me there with some friends and we all loved it. YYUUUMMMM!
One of my favourite places to eat! Lovely staff and amazing food. Highly recommend the tebasaki- delicious
