12 Rocks Beach Bar Cafe reviews
54Poor service. We sat and waited a while but no one came to serve us. The cafe is not even full. The menu downloaded from their website is not updated. When we made our orders, we were told the food from the downloaded menu are no longer served by the cafe. The cashier's attitude is bad. Not gonna come again.
Had a most enjoyable cup of coffee here, pleasant surroundings and very good service. Recommend visiting Port Campbell.
Worst burger I have had in a while. Contained the cheapest processed cheese, minimal toppings and the paddy was purely mince meat. Leading to a burger tasting of mine meat and plastic cheese.
Avoid the burger.
Tried fish and chips and beef burger. Could be one of the best fish and chips ever tried. Price is reasonable. Service is fast.
Fantastic food value for money for 50 bux I fed 2 kids and shared a drink the nuggets were bit to hot at first. The steak was Awsome in a beatiful gourmet roll and a lovely bunderberg drink
After a long day all we looking for was a normal dinner with no surprise. We have ordered chicken schintzel and chicken parmigana, most probably they don’t change the oil all day. We can taste only the taste of burnt oil
Good food and great venue. A little disappointing the their $20 Rocks Burger looks just the same as the $10 kids cheese burger without the bacon.
Make this stop Yummy coffee (we bought extra to take with us) & delicious breaky. The cakes & sandwiches looked very appealing too but we were full from breaky so didn't try any.this time! So glad we detoured to eat at this friendly & yummy cafe
It's ok. No milkshakes for kids and lacking on the family friendly side of things. If this place was in Lorne it wouldn't survive.
For the view from the patio alone, this place is worth the stop - it's literally across the street from the Port Campbell public beach. Food was excellent - daily special of lamb cutlets with couscous was fantastic, daily fish & chips was yummy too, to name but a few. Kids menu has fish & chips, chicken nuggets and fries, and pizza and fries. The dessert menu and display case will leave you drooling. Had their gluten-free chocolate-raspberry cake.omg so good. Grab a menu, seat yourself, then go to cash to order. Servers bring food and clear tables only. Also have to walk up to the bar for drinks. Very very busy (was packed on a Wednesday night during holiday time) so you'll have to wait for your food for a bit but the atmosphere is nice so it's no big deal. Staff were very pleasant. Definitely recommend!
Food is not bad. Service not so.
Ordered a porterhouse steak medium rare. Came out medium close to well done Went to the counter to show a waitress who tried to educate me that what I got was actually medium rare as there was still 'some pink' in it, and if I wanted more rare than that, she said 'for next time, just order rare'. Left speechless I didn't even know what to say. She even tried to show me by bringing out a picture of the meats in different doneness (to her disadvantage) and asked me which one I wanted, obviously I pointed to the perfect medium rare picture and managed to get my dish recooked.
2 star 'cos no apology from this waitress whatsoever, worse, tried to push the fault to me for not choosing 'rare'. Kudos to chef for recooking though, would have been easier if I could just approach somebody who knew her steak.
Worst customer service! Was told lunch service in not until 12noon, we understand, we arrived 11: 45am. So we waited, while other people who are starting to arrive after us were given the menu straight away. 5 mins to service, I had to approach one of the staff to give us menus, they were aware that 10 of us were sitting together, then I was only given 1 menu, when I ask if they have more menu, they said she doesn’t have enough - then the lady made an unhappy facial expression, then gave me extra 4 menus. There were only about 20 people in the cafe, majority were finishing breakfast - no menu? ! So, 10 of us walked out and will never ever step in this place! Whilst we were waiting there were other 2 couples that walked out the door too! I wonder why?
This place would be getting more customers/tourists if your staff know how to do “hospitality” better. All show but no go!
I feel sorry for the owners, I wonder how many people have walked out from this place daily. Such a pity!
Pretty decent pub food here, it isn’t outstanding but it isn’t too overpriced either. There are some great views of the ocean and greenery by the picnic area. It was probably the best value food option in that Main Street, and wasn’t anywhere near as crowded as some of the others which had all the big groups from the tour buses. My calimari was very tender as it should be, with a light batter. They didn’t skimp on the main Ingredients either. The burgers were pretty good, but chips a tad overdone. Service was efficient and friendly
Good food in a teeny town! Had kangaroo burger and calamari as mains and the apple rhubarb crisp a la mode for dessert. All were terrific. Star came off because of the need to stand in line and order at the counter prior to finding a seat, and dessert taking a very long time (they forgot about us). Would be a more relaxing experience with full service, perhaps could be offered as an option. Waiting in line sure speeds things up and reduces staff needs, and it fits with the atmosphere. Adequate beer selection but why don't they serve the town microbrew (Sow & Piglet) ?
