World Heritage Cruises reviews
75Wow what an experience. From the moment we got on the boat we were blown away by the knowledge and passion of this Aussie family owned business. And the service was absolutely exceptional. The history and stories of the Gordan/Frankin rivers were conveyed by video/audio presentation and by experienced staff. We really liked their company's background and involvement in helping to protect the Franklin/Gordan systems back in the day. Their appreciation, recognition and sharing of First Nations stories in the UNESCO World Heritage Park was deeply touching and a life enhancing experience. The boat was outstanding, a quality Tassie built vessel. The meal served to your seat, fresh local produce, was one of the best we had in Tassie. We HIGHLY recommend World Heritage Cruises, it is a must do on every bucket-list. Go the RED Boat. We are already planning a return trip and cruise. Thanks to the team for such a great experience.
A great day out being looked after by the staff on board the big red boat. The opportunity to walk around Sarah Island and Heritage Landing at the Franklin - Gordon Wild Rivers National Park (World Heritage Area) was simply stunning and informative with both our guards. A fabulous day out of the water.
A great day and worth every cent. The boat is spotlessly clean, food great, staff nice and the seats are so comfortable. From the time the cruise starts you can roam all levels to enjoy the views.the staff deliver great talks on the stops. Great way to see the Gordon and harbour
Had an amazing time on the cruise down the Gordon River and visiting the historic Sarah Island. Breath taking views and the tour guides are super knowledgeable and friendly. A must see when visiting Tasmania.
Greatest thing ever done with a boat. A history lesson, a chat to the skipper, a visit to the wheel room, history lesson on the harbor and how the right engineering enabled zero dredging of the harbor. The discussion and education about the forest and huon pine trees with the history of the logging industry was a great leader to actually get off the boat and walk into the rainforest to meet these giants that live for 3,000 years. The return trip ended at the huon pine saw mill to see some huon pine getting cut from a tree that was felled decades ago but still in perfect condition due to the unique qualities of huon pine.
We went on the cruise today and it was amazing. Such good value. Such great service from the moment you arrive to check in on land, the happy, friendly staff on board the boat and the tour guides. We had a window seat on the lower level. The seats are very comfortable and include fold down trays for eating and reading. You can move around at any time and lots of photo opportunities outside and inside. The cruise was paced very well with live commentry, videos on the abundant tv screens, opportunities for walking on the land stops and lunch and snacks. The tour guides on the Sarah Island stop for the 1 hour walk were great, lots of knowledge with enthusiasm and smiles. The lunch was great - salad, chicken, fish, bread rolls, cheese, crackers, brownie - we couldn't eat it all. The views and scenery are breathtaking. Such an amazing 6 hours. All round must do.
Our group of 5 had an amazing time doing the World Heritage Cruise. We sat on the upper deck and had a great view out the windows, and everyone is able to go visit either outside deck levels, or even visit the Captain and hear his knowledge. Ridley was our guide on Sarah Island and he was very knowledgeable and engaging. All the staff were super friendly and welcoming. I’d highly recommend this for anyone visiting Strahan
My family and I had a great evening all the crew were amazing I would like to pass on a special thankyou to Captain Riley and Rebecca. Rebecca was amazing and couldn't do enough for our Granddaughter Leah.
Fabulous boat. Great tour. Very interesting commentary. Sarah Island walk and the Heritage walk so interesting. Delicious lunch all served to you. Friendly staff. I believe value for money.
We were mid deck with window seats with access to all decks.great!
Great day out aboard the red boat. Very informative commentary onboard. Ridley did a great job as guide on Sarah Island and Kat was fantastic and humorous as guide at Heritage Landing. Tasty lunch and morning tea
This was my second trip with World Heritage Cruises and it did not disappoint. A great way to see the pristine environs of the Macquarie Harbour and Franklin Gordon National Park, not to mention a short but impactful visit to Sarah Island to discover some of it's penal settlement history. Their luxury cat was the perfect way to see this beautiful part of Tasmania. See you again next time we're in Strahan!
Very beautiful experience with lots of variation in the activities. Luckily we brought good jackets for the wind. We had a sunny day but still needed them).
Fabulous day, captain and guides were amazing with all the stories and details. Spent a lot of time in the bridge chatting with staff who could not have been more friendly. Food was lovely. If in Strahan out of peak season check weather before booking as there will be seats available I would think most days.
Highly recommend World Heritage Cruises for the Gordon River Cruise. The crew were extremely friendly and passionate, making sure we had the best experience. Along with fabulous tours on the island and walks, the captains cabin was open for us to go and learn about how the ship works and chat with the captain which was definitely an insightful and unique experience!
We booked in last minute and were not at all disappointed! The staff were super friendly, the guides on the tours were funny and engaging. We didn't know what to expect with lunch but were blown away by what was provided. Would very much recommend!
It was amazing, nice tour guide during the whole trip. Was nice meal and and clean cruise. They took us The Hell Gate (Macquarie Heads), Sarah Island, and Gorden river. At the end when we get off to walk in bushes the send a tour guide to tell all nice stories about the Huon Pine and the dam. We loved it so much.

One of the highlights of our holiday. 10/10 the most enjoyable day out. The boat was comfortable we had upper deck window seats. The staff are amazing and super friendly. We loved the stroll around Sarah island and the rainforest walk. Lunch was lovely and I noticed that they catered well for those with food intolerance or allergies. It was a smooth journey and I especially loved the banter between the both cruises when passing each other on the Gordon river.
I recommend this cruise to anyone thinking of doing it. The staff were A1 especially Daniel. He is an asset to this company, really friendly and always had a smile on his face. The cruise was unbelievable. We saw dolphins, seals and hump back whales. The guides on Sarah island did a fantastic job. The Captain is very friendly and comical. The food was beautiful and very healthy. Thank you for a fabulous day. Regards Loraine
Definitely the highlight of our trip, we were so lucky with the weather, we saw two rainbows, and some wild dolphins, the red boat is very comfortable and lunch was so delicious, the trip to Sarah Island was very cool, and we absolutely love the perfect reflection of the Gordon river, and totally in love with Huon pine trees.
