Wineglass Bay Lookout reviews
51Sign says 40 minutes, 1.5km rough terrain climb up the ridge. We hiked at a brisk pace and made it in 24 mins. Spectacular view, work the hike!
A dream come true.so spectacular to see the Wineglass Bay from the lookout! More special to walk down to the beach and dip your toes in the beautiful water. Follow the Isthmus trail back to the car park! Spectacular views of the Tasman Sea! Ps. Get to the trail before 10h00. Later the crowds might spoil the moment!
We did this walk with a 7year old in about 90mins and we sat at the look out for a while. Quiet easy walk heaps of stairs but there is plenty of places to rest along the way. Also from the start to nearly half way it’s all one way then once you go to the look out and come back down to the half way point you will then walk a different track to the car park. On the way up you will see the coles bay look out as well.
The lookout walk was amazing. Approx 400 steps up to the lookout, but definitely worth the effort. We had to take rests to get get up to the lookout, we went in the morning which was a good call because the weather turned and the view was not as great, as it was when we reached the lookout.
The hike up wasn't as bad as I had read. Lots of steps. We got up in about 20mins and it was definitely worth the effort. The view was stunning! We also came across a wallaby carrying its joey which was a delightful bonus.
Great place to visit, absolutely beautiful.
Have a go at the 11km circuit walk, quite a challenge but we'll worth it.
Another of Tasmania's highlights 400 steps to look out worth the walk great national park. Get a longer bpass if you intend to see other parks in Tassie
This is one of the premier sites in Tasmania. The view is fabulous. The walk up is not easy, but not hard either. A modest level of fitness is required. It is not disabled friendly unfortunately. The path is smooth and well maintained. There are a lot of steps. Bushwalkers can take advantage of the numerous tracks around the area from Wineglass bay and there is camping on the southern end of the beach. A must see in Tasmania.
Good walking track some steep sections only went as far as lookout about 1.5 hour return trip worth the hike.add another 2 hours return if want go to beach.
Took us 3 hours from Hobart by car and worth the drive tho! We went through the 40 mins (one way) track. For me it's not that steep and difficult to go up. Very very beautiful scenery
The views were stunning and we enjoyed the hike to the top. We took quite a few breaks along the way and it only took about half an hour to the lookout so definitely doable for all levels of fitness.
The park pass was a little expensive at $40 per car.
What a beautiful view, we came here early in the morning while the sun was rising and it was so silent and magical. The walk has a lot of stairs so be prepared but just take your time! From here you can continue the full circuit to Hazards Beach, this is actually a fairly moderate walk, not tricky at all. The hardest part is basically getting to the Wineglass Bay Lookout with all the stairs!

Semi steep walk with a very good mantained path. Lots of nice rest stops along the way with a stunning vista of rocks and water to take your mind off the workout. Outstanding view well worth the walk up. Take your time and enjoy the journey.
Absolutely stunning location. Suggest doing the Wine Glass Bay and Hazards Beach walk, which is around 5.5+ hrs. You absolutely need to go prepared with a strong mosquito repellent and wear walking boots, plus take plenty of water. Moderate level of fitness.
Amazing experience.
Plenty of parking space, restrooms and easy access for all. Must visit in Tasmania.
Very nice easy walk to the lookout. The new section at the lookout is so much better, brilliant. Highly recommend the walk, even if it rains, it remains a great experience.
Stunning views! The 11km walk the whole way around after the lookout is the way to go. Stunning scenery.
Just gorgeous. It’s not that challenging to get up here as the path is really well made. There’s many other tracks around here also.
Good view of wineglass bay…but the walk is not easy…lots of stairs and steepness…need to be fit
Only wish we put in the effort to hike/scramble up to Mt Amos view point. Still this was an excellent view point. Easy 20min walk for people of moderate level fitness.
