Windows On Westella reviews
51 This place is a combination of a winery, pickled onion 'factory' and restaurant/cafe.
We had a wonderful wine tasting while having our lunch.
Sauvignon blanc was fruity and crisp.
The specials, winter waffles wonderland has a snowman made out of pav! Sugary goodness!
The pulled pork sandwich with 2 fried hashbrowns was delicious, generously packed and layered with their famous pickled red onions.
Got a sugar free pickled onion to try it out at home.
Staffs were friendly despite running off their socks! Busy place here so book online.
Very nice Caramel cheesecake and good iced chocolate. Service was excellent
The only reason for 3 stars instead of four would be the fact that the umbrellas toppled over on us outside in the wind. Due to this being a safety hazard, I give 3 stars.
We visited this weekend for afternoon tea cakes were nice drinks, okay. We sat outside, a bit disappointed that the umbrella toppled over due to the wind, this is a safety factor. This needs to be reviewed by the owners.
Very nice atmosphere! The waffles was really really yummy, hoping to come back to a nicer coffee next time
Excellent food, however, we had such an unpleasant, embarrassing encounter with one of the waitresses.
We showed up in our motorhome for breakfast, the service was great and the food - even better. After the meal we went back to our motorhome and decided to stick around for a couple of hours and do some work as we work remotely. We were the only motorhome in the long vehicle parking bay and rest of the carpark was quite empty, so we decided it should be ok for now. After a couple of hours we went in to grab a cup of coffee before leaving. As soon as we walked in, it seemed the staff had spoken about us before and had decided it was a problem we had stuck around. Instead of mentioning something about it, the waitress was incredibly rude and gave us attitude about not having a booking and made remarks about us "only" wanting coffee; At that point we decided to leave as we didn't want to argue or cause a scene. As we were walking out, another staff member approached us and asked politely to leave as they have some bookings that needed the entire long bay, which is completely understandable.
It would've been completely reasonable to explain to us that only whilst eating you can be parked outside and must leave shortly thereafter, or that you need to order more food or whatever their policy is, and we would've happily obliged, however instead we got this embarrassing encounter.
One of my favourite places to go, take visiting family or catching up with friends. I enjoy seeing the weekly specials, they are alway very tasty! But this place is very busy and you have to book. Don’t get upset with staff if they can’t get you in… it’s very popular. Once you visit you will understand why.
Always a great breaky spot! I don’t usually get a sweet breakfast but omg the lemon curd waffles were amazing!
I don't understand rocket with bacon and banana waffles. Staff were great. Did all possible to find a seat, and then inside when it was raining.
Great service, spotlessly clean restaurant and bathroom facilities. Had a very enjoyable meal with great friends.
Windows on Westella, well what can I say, We LOVE coming in for breakfast & coffee.
Excellent service & atmosphere.
The only issue I've ever had here is the day I turned up and there was no parking or tables (fully consumed/full) that's my own fault for not booking!
Thank you staff & owner.
OMG! WOW! If you are driving past Ulverstone you must call in here! We had lunch and it was the best pulled pork and lamb burger we have ever had! The staff were so friendly and helpful! This cafe is a must for locals and tourists. Also grab a jar of pickled onions? To take home! They are the best
Came here on the recommendation of a local. Who would've thought waffles could be soft and still yummy, but these waffles a great cross with pancakes, and of course went down well with the ice cream and lemon curd.
Service very polite, despite this being occlusion a very very popular spot
Wish I could give 6 stars! We booked a table for lunch and it was busier than expected. The two staff members were so sweet and funny! We ordered the mushrooms and the salad and it was absolutely delicious! We would definitely come back:)
Lovely staff and coffee. Wish it the food were also speckle like waffles. Highly recommended and a booking in advance is a must
$7.50 for 1 shot of espresso, ice and a tablespoon of milk…really? Not impressed! Much better coffee at Thirty three cups!
I must say that my wife and I have been twice, the first time everything was absolutely perfect, great food, fantastic service, a really great dining experience. However, our 2nd visit was a little disappointing. The food was, as per our previous experience, delicious. We were however, given a time frame for the use of our table and on this particular day the service was very noticeably slow for drinks and food and by the time we were offered an opportunity to order desserts we had all of about 15 minutes from placing our order to having to leave our table to make way for another booking. Our desserts arrived 5 mins before we had to leave and we were rudely reminded that we needed to leave within 5 minutes. I think that if you are going to impose time restraints on tables you need to lift your game in providing timely service otherwise you completely ruin the dining experience, as you did ours that day. I don’t think that being rushed off of our table constitutes a relaxing, pleasant dining experience.
Very enjoyable lunch, exceptional wait staff. Very helpful, friendly and polite.
Food was fantastic.
After making a booking on line for three, 1 month ago for a family birthday and requesting a window table, we expected that this is what we would get, we were not advised otherwise.
On arrival we were shown to a table in the corner near the door and told no window sittings were available. The table we sat at was so wobbly it would make a sailor seasick.
As this is the second time that an unpleasant dinning experience appeared to be happening, we left and went to the River Arms, an entirely different attitude to paying customers, very pleasant staff and venue and when they found out it was a birthday lunch provided the birthday persons lunch free. We will definitely be back, but not to Windows on Westella.
Late last year we had a great dining experience at WoW but alas as good as that was today was a let down. Creatures of habit we had the same meal again (fish and fries). Quality of meal was good but what happened to the portions? Has there bren a fish famine on the Nth West? More like three fish fingers than genuine serves. Alas thoughthe reduction in meal was not matched by a reduction in cost. Disappointing.
Beautiful food (tapas/ribs/fries and chicken) and cold drinks. Nice staff and friendly service. Highly recommend.
