Windflowers Cottage B&B reviews
41We had three wonderful days at Windflowers cottage. The amenities are superb, the food was plentiful, bed was very comfortable and it is the most delightful place to stay. The highland cows were a great feature as is the incredible views overlooking Glaziers Bay.
The photos do not do justice to this lovely accommodation. We loved our stay and the view is amazing. The owners are fantastic and so helpful. There is ample parking with animal proof fencing so our dog was able to go outside without the lead on. We loved our stay and would highly recommend it. It has everything you need. We hope to return.
Last weekend was our second stay at Windflowers. Bruce and Leonie made us feel very welcome in the homestead. The house has every comfort in such a private and magnificent location. Everywhere you look is filled with tranquility and beauty. The house is kept spotlessly clean and there are generous healthy breakfast cereals and food.
And of course not only the natural beauty of the Huon but the hospitality of the Huon is on show in its main Cygnet street, restaurants and shops. It is undoubtedly an outstanding holiday haven even for a short two night stay.
We loved the setting of the buildings amid the gardens surrounded by bush and farmlands overlooking the western mountains with the magnificent Huon river below. What a place to watch the setting sun and its colourful sky for an hour afterwards! Our accommodation was spacious, clean, thoughtfully provisioned with everything we needed. Our hosts helped us out when we ran into trouble on a nearby road after managing to back into a culvert for which we are most grateful. We are very happy we chose Windflowers for our four days away
A great place to stay if you want to escape the hustle and bustle of the city. The nights were cold (just the way we like them) the mornings foggy, the days glorious and the stars were close. The Highland cattle were there to watch along with ducks and paddymelons. The cottage and annexe had everything we needed including a fireplace.
Terrific quiet cottage with wonderful views and gardens, set in a gorgeous part of the Huon Valley overlooking Port Huon and the estuary. Nearby great food and roadside stalls. Highly recommended.
This place is truly heavenly and we loved every moment we spent at Windflower.from the beautiful misty mornings to the spectacular sunsets and a view that you could never tire of. We will certainly be back.
Thank you Leonie for sharing this piece of paradises with us.
Warmest regards
Chrissie and David
Windflowers is a cosy and beautifully decorated cottage with spectacular views. It is well stocked, has a wood fire and is snug and comfortable.
A comfortable home with a beautiful outlook. Great communication, pantry well stocked, woodfire for winter. We spent more time relaxing at Windflowers than experiencing everything in the area - which means we'll have to come back.
Wonderful place. Great location for sitting wrapped up on the deck watching for shooting stars. Very clean and well laid out property. The hosts are attentive and take good care of guests. Highly recommend for couples or extended families. Thank you
We have just returned from a wonderful weeks stay at the Windflowers Cottage. The cottage was immediately inviting and the views just superb. It was lovely to sit and relax whilst looking at the extraordinary views and plentiful wildlife. The birds in particular were a constant delight. Thanks to Bruce and Leonie for the generous provisions, the fabulously comfortable bed and well appointed kitchen and bathroom.
This is a place we must return to.
We were fortunate to have the opportunity to stay for a whole week at Windflowers Cottage. Amenities were great including comfortable beds in rooms with great views, breakfast provisions, a well-stocked pantry, laundry, great wifi, gym equipment.everything we needed and more.
Windflowers' hillside location offers incredible views across the Huon Valley to the Hartz Mountains and each morning we woke to a different vista, as the valley has many "moods" - each is stunning in its own way, whether it's fog rising from the river or crystal clear.
The cottage is optimally located, just a short drive into Cygnet, less than an hour from Hobart and central to Southern Tasmania's many attractions. Easy day trips can be made eastward to Bruny Island, Cockle Creek and Hastings Caves in the Far South, towns with great character such as Dover, Geeveston and Franklin on the west side of the valley, the Tahune Airwalk (currently under repair post-bushfire) and some spectacular National Parks.
Overall a great base for a stay in the Huon.and make sure you try their olive oil!
This was our second stay at Windflowers, this time we brought our family and our dog. Such a peaceful location, with a spectacular vista to sit back and enjoy. Leonie and Bruce are the perfect hosts, caring, but not intrusive. The pantry is always well stocked which is an added bonus. A range of doonas, blankets, throws and pillows adds to comfort of your stay. Plenty to do or just sit back and do nothing. A walk amongst the proteas is always enjoyable. Just love it here!
Very comfortable stay of 3 days for 6 of us
Extremely well equipped and we certainly enjoyed all the extras supplied. Thank you
The town of Cygnet was a treat.
Best wishes
Great location and views with all amenities and mod cons. Excellent breakfast provisions and beautiful property all around!
Wow! Wow! And Wow! Stop looking and book this place. Beautiful home with sensational views to the river. Great to deal with. We will be back. Thank you so much.
We loved staying here! Such a homely and comfy place, with fabulous views and a beautiful region to explore. It has everything you need. If we get to Tassie again, we’d definitely stay here. I’m already missing the view and roaring fire.
Beautiful location and a very atmospheric cottage. Hosts had the cottage in impeccable condition with every possible need catered for. Spend a little time and explore the surrounding area.worth a longer stay if you can swing it.
Peaceful and picturesque, 10 min to Cygnet, 15 min to Huon and only 50ish to Hobart. Better than home away from home. Three double bedrooms +granny flat if you need to bring the extended family. Full kitchen, so you can cook and create with all the local produce. Local farm gate and markets provide 90% of what we needed. If you don't want to cook, plenty of places to dine. Our beautiful hosts were there if needed but unobtrusive. Highly recommended
We were made very welcome after a long day by Leonie. The house had everything the 4 of us had needed-more than we expected. The beds were among the most comfortable we have had. Sitting out with a wine on the deck we enjoyed the scenery over the water.
