Whitworths Marine & Leisure - Derwent Park

Had a chat to Errol on the phone about a stock enquiry and he ended up being soooo helpful and working with me to find a solution. 5 stars for customer service!

Went into the store, got quoted a price per metre Because this determined the amount I intended to buy, got to the register and was charged nearly 3 times the price, I questioned the price to be told that was for the cheap rope, no sorry I made a mistake, no offer to supply the product he quoted, such poor service, and later finding out he was the store manager,

Some very helpful guys and some absolute duds. An excellent selection of some things and a paltry selection of others. Well worth a visit for any visiting yachties.

A good range of products but my word, they are pricey! Staff always pleasant and helpful, however, so I suppose it's the service we are paying for.

Consistently rude staff and non-existent service have prompted me to write this review. The most recent in-store visit left my three-year-old in tears after being barked at by a staff member for drawing down a minimal amount of rope from a few spools. No stock was damaged. A polite conversation with me would have sufficed.

Then upon enquiring about an item, the reply was, “look down the bottom [aisle end], it’s probably fallen off”.

I am taking my business elsewhere permanently!

Would not deal with them again after the treatment I had trying to purchase pfd yokes they had on special and would not supply.

I’ve been disappointed a few times with the Derwent Park store in Tasmania. They’re stock control is pretty bad with things listed in the catalogue, not available. I hope head office gets it together and properly supplies this store.

Use to be O K but lately received lousy service. Sorry folks, but"if it's not on the shelf we don't have it" is not what I call customer service.

Absolute joke as far as customer service goes. Unless you shop in the yachting related isles, they aren't interested in helping. Hey boys, get out from behind the counter and do some work, work isn't a social club.

Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Buy all our switches and led lights from here for our auto and camping trailer needs as they are alot cheaper than auto shops.

Marine heaven! If it's to with boats, you are pretty sure to find it here. Remember, the merchandise here is of marine spec quality, or top grade, not cheap substitutes, so the prices reflect that.
You get what you pay for, top quality marine fixtures and fittings, although good advice from the knowledgeable staff is free!

Unlike a previous reviewer, I have found the staff at Whitworths in Derwent Park to be very helpful and cheerful along with it. Great range of stock and most of them seem to know what they've got on the shelf.

Always have been helpful and friendly to me, the staff are boaties who in general seem to know what they are on about. Wide range of stock, so you choose the quality and price you want. As part of a national company with national pricing they are often cheaper other chandlers, which is not so good for the local guys.
