Westbury Gingerbread Cottages reviews
13 A sheer delight! One of the best BnBs I've stayed in and I've been in a few! Amanda kindly supplied all I needed for my keto low carb breakfast. Lovely hot shower.
Very comfortable bed. Really comfortable couch. Lovely and warm despite Tassie winter outside - max 9° today. Within easy walking distance to everything you need to see in Westbury which is my favourite village in Tassie.
The 2 dwellings we had were fantastic for the 10 of us the hosts were fantastic too a little extra was fresh cup cakes each day and home made bread along with bacon and eggs and cereal supplied, we will defiantly be re booking for next year's trip to Tassie
We absolutely loved our stay at the Gingerbread cottages. The unique setting with delightful interiors had an old world charm all of it's own. Amanda's delicious breakfast of local produce as well as her daily gift of home baking was an added delight.
Beautiful grounds and cottage. Friendly and very accomodating owner. We loved our stay and the tasty treats daily. Will be back
Beautiful little cottages you can feel the history.very well equiped with everything you need.very close to shops in a really nice clean town. The owner Amanda was very nice and very helpfull. 5 stars
Our favourite accom duing our 3 weeks in Tassie. We stayed for 3 nights, in the Old Bakehouse. It had heaps of space for us and could have accommodated another couple at least. It felt like coming home when we got back each afternoon. The hosts are very helpful. If we are ever in the area again, we will be staying at one of these cottages.
While driving behind the owner of the Gingerbread Cottages (who conveniently has their logo plastered on their back bumper) I watched them throw a ball of trash out of their moving car and into the lovely Westbury countryside. If they can't be bothered to clean up after themselves, I can't even begin to imagine how filthy their accommodation is. A piece of advice: if you're going to litter, don't do it in a car that has your business logo stamped all over it.
Lovely period cottages set in a picturesque town. Our cottage was clean and tidy, but not spotless. The beds were really comfortable and there was plenty of good quality bed linen available. The cottage had everything we needed for our four day stay and everything worked as it should. In the colder months the gas heater would struggle to heat the whole cottage, but it was adequate for the cool nights we experienced. The owners provided complimentary muffins and gingerbread men for us (two couples) during our stay which was a lovely, unexpected treat and we appreciated the thought. Parking can be a problem on site at times due to limited spaces but I parked on the very quiet road directly outside the cottage with no problems. We enjoyed our stay and will definitely return here again for another short break.
Really enjoyed our short stay here. The cottage was excellent, clean and everything you need, weather your staying for 1 night or 5. Friendly, helpful staff. Great breakfast. Walking distance to shop. Also a favorite was the walk to the food truck at the village green.
Stayed in appleblossom cottage very over priced! For this location passing car lights shining in bedroom widow during night not as clean as it should be dead blow flies on bedroom window sill.
Very homely and comfortable:) great hospitality! I recommend getting the breakfast deal if you like homemade bread and jams etc. It's also fantastic if you're leas than 6 foot tall.my husband had slight issues with this:)
In the "Servant's Quarters" there is pleasant colonial decor, separate living and bedroom, a nice warm gas heater and neat garden. Off-street parking is included in a quaint courtyard.
The kitchen is a bit tacky compared with the grand four poster bed, and for the price (150 aud for one person), you usually wouldn't see a stickytaped piece of paper near the sink asking guests to wash, dry and replace their dishes.
That said, a nice place overall and with my recommendation.
