Waterworks Reserve reviews
32A great place to go when your bladders playing up and you need to get the waterworks flowing again!
Nice place in Hobart for a relaxing walk. Not a busy place and there is kids park area and plenty of BBQ
Beautiful, 5 mins from habart! Sleep in can just outside gate, rest and recuperate walking through the parklands with wildlife everywhere
Really wonderful park to go spend time to relax and have a nice peaceful walk or sit down with really beautiful views. Please check it out. Lots of BBQ spots too.
Great place for a large family BBQ or picnic offering scattered shelters overlooking the dam. I think you can book sites through the Hobart City Council. Unfortunately.no swimming, this is part of Hobart's water supply, but there are many interesting short walk in this historic place and also the starting point of longer adventures and plenty of room to play. There is a public toilet too.
Great place for walks, picnics and barbecues. Plenty of space for everyone with toilet facilities. Well signposted walks to get you up Wellington if you really wanted to. Some nice signs explain the history here, and Gentle Annie falls are an easy well worth walk from the last car park. Suggest you do the round trip, allow a leisurely hour and a half.
It's been awhile since visiting Waterworks Reserve, although it hasn't lost it's appeal
Book a site, enjoy the serenity & a family BBQ lunch.there are lots of sites available. Don't miss out on exploring along the walking tracks.all very scenic + there's history info to discover on this expansive reserve.
This used to be a favourite place for our family. The council have recently removed the entire playground and a picnic hut. Still beautiful, much less family friendly.
Been here for the group BBQ, site 9. Nice place and view, great place if you want to book bbq for a large group. They also have parking and toilet close to the point.
Used to come here all the time. Also there were no tears involved in the development of this reserve whatsoever.
The water works reserve is a great place for family BBQ’s, birthday parties and even just a nice spot for walks! It’s a quiet, easy to access location which is right next to the city! There are plenty of public spaces and plenty of parking!
Well, this is the picture of fish we fried there. The place itself is just magnificent. It's always fun to go there and have some family time. I am a big fan of quiet and green places.
Always a bonus to spend some time in the tranquil natural world so close CBD. Great launch point for adventures on kunanyi Mt Wellington
Water works is a beautiful serene place with wildlife, great tracks, and great places to picnic
I grew up on Waterworks Road and have frequented Waterworks Reserve throughout my life many times. This reserve is a fond, childhood memory of mine. Many celebrations have been held in the various huts and hours spent walking the various trails.
To bus and walk to Waterworks Reserve - take a Fern Tree #448 bus and step off at the Romilly Street bus stop #10 on Davey Street. Walk along Romilly Street and you'll find halfway along Romilly Street the walking track access on the right. This track runs parallel with the Sandy Bay Rivulet.
Peaceful environment. A good place to spend the day. Serviced BBQ machines in place, toilets. Book in advance to secure the shades.
So close to town with beautiful bird life and walks to suit all abilities. Great facilities for parties all kinds of weather.
Little cold, but absolutely beautiful. Lots of tracks and places to explore. Overall, great for bushwalking!
Went for a run through this amazing reserve on the outskirts of Hobart. The most amazing scenery, great trails, with the most fabulous background view of Mt Wellington. Well done to Hobart City Council on their upkeep of the Reserve. Would recommend anyone visiting Hobart to include this in their visit.
