Waratah Caravan and Camp Grounds reviews
29Arriving in the evening, the toilets were unfortunately locked and we were therefore unable to use them, the bins were filled to the brim.
This is a hidden gem. Not listed on wiki camps. $35 for power/water, amenities are way better than most caravan parks, basic shelter (camp kitchen).
Quite at night, no normal caravan park noise or annoying security lights in your window.
10/10…
Waratah is a must in a Tassie trip.
A great place to leave caravan why you explore the area. Have power an water site's on a sealed area or on grass. A nice look out across the lake. Easy walk around the town
Basic van park. Clean and serviceable amenities. No camp kitchen to speak of. Short walk to the pub which has good food. I feel it was a little overpriced.
Very disappointed, price for powered site was different to internet site. Very over priced as 3 out of 4 shower/toilets were out of order. The facilities were filthy so disappointed.
The caravan park is behind the post office - which is also who you go to book.
They don’t take reservations but the check out time is also “11: 00am or whenever you feel like it really” Its next to a little lake which has a platypus viewing area and
is a short walk to the gorge and waterfalls. The amenities, showers, toilets, laundry and camp kitchen were basic but in good nick and a steal for the price, I think this was the cheapest place we stayed. Cute tiny town, the meal at the pub was good but call ahead to book in if u want a feed!
Lovely cheap camp at $10 for self contained van. Great tidy and interesting town. Lovely ladies at the roadhouse gav friendly service.
The park is set right next to the lake which is beautiful. It has showers, toilets and a laundry set into old concrete water tanks, they are serviceable. The town is a delight & the Pub serves good meals. You can easily get to Cradle mountain from here & it's much cheaper.
Great. Small overnight fee for power and hot showers. Also undercover BBQ and kitchen area. Close walking distance to waterfall and pub
Lovely campsite with powered and unpowered sites. Shower facilities available- just need to ask for keypad code for a few extra dollars.
Public toilets are available nearby. Would definitely recommend coming to stay here!
Great little town water fall was amazing the hotel was great and the shower at the caravan park was great
Clean facilities fairly small place but beautiful surroundings in the centre of town the park office is the council/ library building on the main road with the park behind it.
Very clean accessable site any person stopping here must retain their grey water and dispose of the water at the local dump point located opposite the council workshop
Very basic, plenty of options available. From totally self sufficient spaces to full served spaces. Pub meal (excellent chef), down the road is walkable with great views of the falls in town on your return. The museum is worthy of a look as is the Stompers Mill.
Very nice showers and bathroom cubicles. Undercover area for cooking. Limited flat ground for camping (hopefully you don't mind a bit of a slope) haha. Very nice area and surrounds. Nice staff.
This is a surprisingly pleasant site. The amenities are somewhat basic and the ground is rather uneven for tents, but it is nice and Grassy and there are plenty of power points. Waratah is a place with some mining history and you can virtually walk into the Tarkine past a waterfall in the middle of town.
Recommend you ignore the often inclement weather and stay a few days!
Top spot right on the pond and close to the waterfall. Waratah's a special spot to visit. Good facilities including showers and washing machine/dryer. Recommended.
Book in with the very helpful lady at the Post Office. Dog friendly. Limited TV. Mobile Service. Washing machine & Dryer. Clean amenities.
Did not end up staying, grass sites too soft and others had very loose gravel and sloppy, caravan skidded on plastic ramp when unhooking and hit rear of car. Not much to ask, just want flat sites with a good base.
