Vilicia Cafe reviews
17We have visited this coffee shop consistently every time we visit Hobart. One of the better coffee shops in the City precinct. The coffee has great flavours, definitely needs a double shot for a flat white. Pleasant service
Amazing Coffee! Piccolo was exceptional as their house made single origin was extremely tasty! Latte art was the star of the show! So cool to see more variations and amazing art! Had to buy an extra latte just to see the amazing designs! Owners were extremely nice and accommodating and made the whole experience perfect!
Run by an Asian couple who really ought to go do a customer service course. They obviously don't drink coffee which is a serious error for a cafe selling primarily.coffee. I have a long black, so I forego milk and sugar to get the true taste of the coffee. At Vilicia, the taste is awful. Bitter to the extent that it tastes like acid. I had to have a mouthful of water after each sip of coffee. Barely ordered, sat down and drinking our coffee and the Asian lady comes over to tell us they will be shutting in 5 minutes (at 4: 00pm). Why didn't she tell us when we handed over $14- for 2 coffees and a cake? FAIL!
Lovely place to people watch. Or to fuel up on caffeine. Or both.
The Moka i had was very good - but I especially recommend the Pistacio Teacake. It’s a delight.
The vibes are great, nice mellow music and friendly staff.
Amazing coffee and sweets, with a lovely view of the streets (yes, good for people-watching!). I think the staff could afford to be a little more hospitable, but it's still a wonderful cafe:)
All attitude before service. Cashier just interested in issuing orders - order here, check in now, sit down. With all the civility of Frankenstein's monster. Coffee nothing to chirp about. Very noisy environment, all worn out, all designed it seems to keep the cattle moving in and out - - left disgusted, uncomfortable. Only Murdoch papers to read. Could be a takeaway in the far-flung suburbs, not what you expect to find on the main streets of a capital city
We ordered lattes which were very well presented but the taste was more bitter than we expected.
Consistency is key when it comes to coffee and these guys nail it every time! The best long black in Hobart. So smooth and syrupy my number one go to in Hobart!
Good coffee and excellent brewed chai, interesting choice of breakfast pastries, puddings, filled rolls and sweet little treats. Fast service, friendly staff.
Coffee and a pastrami roll cost $18! Then long after finishing my coffee, I had to remind the waiter to get me the pastrami roll, and that turned out to be corned beef or something. Not good enough.
Ona beans, good baristas. One less star because I ordered an egg and haloumi roll and got a bacon and egg one because the waitress was conversing with a friend.
My second attempt at this one, and I won't be trying a third. Very strange vibe in this place. Nice window pozzies for people watching. Gormless staff seemed out of it and totally disengaged. Hipster coffee beans were an acquired taste, and $6.50 biscuit/cookie thing seemed ridiculous.
Popped in for a quick coffee to avoid the rain. Felt like I was in a Hudson's Coffee, which I know is across the road. Coffee was good but not great, it had a slightly burnt flavour. Nice staff and great location.
Great ona coffee and nice atmosphere and interior.
Special thanks for the barista who wrote us down a list of cafe recommendations for our weekend in Tasmania, we really appreciate it:)
Highly recommend
I love when I'm walking around. I smell coffee.and fills like I need one. Just waiting for some invitation.
Retailer of fresh coffee as well as a delightful corner cafe. Obviously great coffee supplemented by a large selection of fresh pastries and croissants. Opens nice and early in the morning for those on their way to work.
