Two Metre Tall Farmhouse Ale & Cider reviews
20Had a drink here in June. Lovely place with open air tap room right on the farm. Owner was lovely to speak with and passionate about the whole brewing process
Gave us a tour and what an amazing experience! Unique and out of this world. You find the true meaning of wild ferment and farmhouse. Don’t come here if you like boring beers like lagers/IPA.
What a top spot, super friendly. We took a picnic, did the tastings, drank their delicious cider and left with a couple bottles.
Highly recommended
Beautiful place with amazing people who are very passionate about their drinks. Natural and barrel brewing, making amazing stuff that isn't like most craft that's punchy in one particular area, more of a balanced drink. Cider was amazing as well.
They've got a lovely area to hang out and have a drink, bbq's, heck they suggest you bring a picnic! Will 100% be back next time we're in Tassie.
Thanks Jane, great afternoon and well worth the trip.
Highly recommend a visit! We popped in after lunch nearby and enjoyed a really tasty, passionately made beer here. They're good at what they do and are super friendly in telling you about it. We were offered tastings of all the beers, which were all delicious - it was hard to pick a favourite. They had a few ciders on taps too, which I also enjoyed despite not drinking cider. Take-aways available to purchase.
Fantastic experience. Beer and Cider thoughtfully made and delivered. Definitely worth a visit.
What a great country location, offering spontaneously fermented bevies and also some ciders, go and have a chat or take some food and make it a picnic!
Jane at the farm bar/shearing shed/brew door was lovely, knowledgeable and accommodating. Two metre tall make Incredible beer and cider with great thought to how beer should be made. Leading the industry out of a small brew house in methods of brewing. Passionate about organic grain and wild ferment. Highly recommended
Very interesting Brewery. A focus on sour brews and ciders. Very friendly owners, passionate about their work.
Great cider and a small, but very nice selection of self made beers with all local ingredients. Nice and quiet place to enjoy a drink
Really nice owners who were happy to give us a tasting of everything they had to offer and explain each. Very personable friendly and helpful! We went on a dreary drizzling Friday on our way through town and they treated us like regulars. They occasionally have meat to grill on site, but are happy for you to bring your own and use their woodfired grills anytime. Beautiful surroundings and affordable prices. Try the black snake!
Boutique brewery = two metre tall. These are definitely not commercial. Drop by to try something different.
Amazing farm beer, cider and Mead. Friendly service that makes you feel welcome. There are bbq's available and lots of seating. If you are in the area stop by and have a pint
Another great Derwent Valley family brewer. Crafters of some very out-of-the-ordinary beers and ciders (if you think XXXX is the pinnacle of brewing, this is not the place for you). Coupled with their great home-made sausages and relishes, this is a great place to spend a sunny afternoon. My only regret is they are only open when we are usually working on weekends!
My god! I just popped in to my local bottleo in Sydney and they had the Dark Apple Ale in stock. I've been really getting into Ciders and this intruiged me. What a flavour. This bottle was apart of a batch brewed in Jan 2017 and bottled Sept 2017, its now end of 2018 and the flavour is alive! Next time I'm down in Tassie I'll definately be coming here.
By far the best cider & farmhouse ales being made in Australia. Ash is an absolute master of his craft.
Excellent beers and cider. One of the most exciting brewers in the country. Location is beautiful and people are genuinely lovely. Don’t miss it.
We thought it was a very friendly and authentic brewery. The brewer was very passionate and more than happy to share his knowledge with you. The beers had a unique sour taste which worked very well and in fact what the Brewer intended.
Dropped in for a Sunday picnic to have some beer fed beef. Sausages were ridiculously tasty and the beer was interesting. Nice way to spend an afternoon
