The Woodbridge reviews
7 I would recommend a stay at The Woodbridge for lots of reasons. The warm welcome, the beautiful setting, the comfortable rooms with amazing views. We chose it for its proximity to The Agrarian Kitchen where we were doing a class and it was a lovely stroll back, instead of a drive back to Hobart after wine. John, owner of The Woodbridge even jumped in his car and drove us there in the morning. If I’d planned better I would’ve stayed longer and explored the area more. Walks by the Derwent and other local attractions were not given the attention they deserved.
I think The Woodbridge would be lovely in all seasons and Laurel and John, the owners are very knowledgeable about the area.
We loved our stay in this beautiful property. New Norfolk is an excellent location for a base out of the inner city. Thanks Laurelle and John. The Woodbridge offers a very special holiday experience.
Beautiful original building right on the river, with each room having picturesque views. Especially love the common rooms featuring log fire, free port and sherry, monopoly and card games. So very cozy. Quaint and elegant. The staff are great.
Our experience at Woodbridge on the Derwent was a terrific experience. This small luxury hotel has only 8 suites and each one is full of history and character creating an amazing ambience. It is also extremely comfortable and has great views.
The dining experience at breakfast and dinner was first class with personal service that just added to the experience. The hotels 5 star rating met and exceeded our expectations.
A Break-in to hotel through the common room in the early morning, and thieves entered our room while we were sleeping. There were no security cameras or alarms anywhere. The police were called some hours later after we reported the robbery when we woke up and found items missing. Door lock as we found out later was faulty. Need a hard push to secure the lock, there were no other latches. We were not told of this and no signs to warn us. Owners who live 300 meters down the road, did not see us, ask our well being and what was taken. Instead he spend his time with the police about his loss as well as showing other guests what items taken from the break-in room. Refused to meet us with repeat requests through the manager, initial requests were left with no reply and finally a dismissive note left under our door addressed to Mr and Mrs? We were left with no cash or credit cards. We had no choice but to stay remaining 2 days of the booking, because we were unable to discuss with the owners chances of cancelling the balance of stay with possible refund, and to find out what was the hotels guest insurance coverage. The manager is pleasant enough, but he had absolutely no authority and unable to tell us anything. He kept referring us to you via several emails (on record) which you dismissed.
