The Tasmanian Inn reviews
40We chose the wrong night to book a table for two. We were sat right near the door so it was very cold and there was a loud DJ playing already at 6.45pm? Didn't really get why he was on so early. Food was good. Perhaps during the week would be better for dining.
The service from the staff and the food is sensational! And their Thursday parmi nights are the best. Do yourself a favour and try the Tasmania inn at least once! You won't regret it.
We had our sons 21st meal here for 11 people (his choice) the staff were very pleasant and the surrounds were nice, however the meals took over 1.5 hours to arrive, chips were dark, greasy and overcooked, mashed potato was instant powdered product, steak very gristly ect. It will be a 21st meal remembered for all the wrong reasons-if you cannot cater for 11people, you should not accept the booking, really disappointing.
Great food and fantastic service by Lewis and all other staff. As an interstater I felt like a local.
Loved it, great local beer and great food and the best sticky date pudding I've ever had, go back just for that
Had dinner here thanks to a recommendation from our taxi driver. Hidden gem! Was so tasty and the chips are the best we have ever had! The staff were so lovely and atmosphere is great
Enjoyed a fabulous feed at the Tasmania Inn. Excellent service and the food was extremely yummy. Thanks for a great night out.
The staff were amazing, knew everything on the menu, great beers on tap and have great food. And Wednesday they have steak night incredible.
SUPER friendly staff and comfortable accommodation. We stayed in the ensuited room, it had a lot of character. The hotel is close to the cbd and has a lot of amenities nearby, which is very convenient. 100% worth the price!
Ps. The restaurant has really good food, the parmigiana is delicious!
A pleasant surprise: this old pub has been revamped and now feels both authentic and modern. Loved the Happy Hour and the hand cut fries - will be back!
Can't recommend the Tasmanian Inn enough! Wonderfully friendly and helpful staff. The rooms were spacious and clean. Fantastic location. Dinner in the pub was delicious. Will certainly be staying here again.
Cosy pub with friendly staff, good food and a fine selection on tap. Beer garden is great place to chill out and the extra dining located upstairs on the terrace, is lovely. Will be back
Has a great meal with lots of great beers on tap. Loved the roof top garden. Highly recommend this place.
Best place for a pub feed (parmi’s are amazing and better than a typical pub parmi) casual setting (always want to stay longer than just dinner) and plays awesome 80s music. Keep up what your doing!
Badly cooked steak, not seasoned, terrible overcooked greasy dark chips. Even for $18 night it wasn't worth it. But the staff were amazing and they're probably the reason I'd give the place another go.
Great pub fare, a step above general pub food. The parmigiana was great and staff were friendly. Good place for dinner and drinks.
Wonderful and cosy interior and good local atmosphere. Can't speak for the hotel aspects of this place as I didn't stay there, but the bar was lovely.
Very friendly and helpful staff who joked with us and gave us help and advice on our trip to Hobart.
Free pool too!
Just wish the drink prices were a little bit cheaper, and the interior was a bit bigger. Other than that it's lovely.
Cute Inn and the staff is nice. Rooms are very small and don't have small bar fridges in the room or kettle which was a bummer not to know. The food is great at the restaurant very large portions and the chicken Parm was delicious. They do live music which is fun and has a bar with the restaurant which is convenient. Location isn't great but it is by a grocery store and some good restaurants.
Bit disappointed that the pub wasn't open during our stay - the reason why we booked there! Room could do with a bit of decor too.
It's well known that us Hobartions are sticklers for cosy venues with good soul replenishing food and even more so suckers for finding these types of gems snuggly and smugly planted away from the usual hustle of our "go to" spots. The Tasmanian Inn is 100% all about this.
Nestled between the core of the city and the heart of North Hobart, The Tasmanian Inn (Tas Inn for us here locals) is an easy way to get some good grub, good local grog and take a breather with the gang. There are plenty of spots to nuzzle into a good ole D&M such as inside, outside or upstairs on the balcony. Each one has its own charm (upstairs has some wicked views, I'd recommend a bottle of wine with some mates. Super chilled)
Filled with a chilled out vibe, the bar staff are extremely approachable and knowledgeable. I had a quick glance at the menu and before I could get two lines down. I heard the sweetest lines a fella could hear "It's steak night, grab a porter steak with a seasonal salad and some super crispy chips for $18". Mate, I was sold and let me tell you, it was effin delicious! It was cooked perfectly.
Live music is a thing. All you need to do is call up the bar staff to find out when and hey, if you fancy yourself a master of pool.why not hit up the pool table?
As Arnie would say and ESPECIALLY if he dined in this place. "I'll be back! "
